festival day!
Who: EVERYONE
Broadcast: Up to you
Action: Everywhere in the Yadrolla system!
When: 5/30
[At last, the day has come: Festival Day! Once again, the Starstrikers have taken the trophy this year. But that doesn't mean members of other teams, or those who didn't play, can't celebrate with the rest of them!
There are parties everywhere. Ribbons, streamers, and confetti litter every major street in the system. (Remember what they say about glitter...) There is food on every block, and people cramming into shops to get in on the merch.
Don't forget about the reason for the festival-- the pet adoption drive! A large playground-type area has been set up on the Starstrikers' desert moon where people can play and interact with the lovable creatures needing new homes. Whether you're looking for companionship or just something to do, there's plenty to coo over! Every pet comes with an info card listing a fanciful name and a general description of their age and temperament. Maybe Sir Pringle the puppy or Marquess Mariana the fish can become your new best friend.
Sadly, the Fleet will be drifting in about a week... but feel free to party until then!]

Pavel Chekov // OTA
[Chekov does not need a pet because he and his newly-adopted cat are quite happy together. This fact doesn't prevent him from visiting the pet adoption drive since there are objectively adorable puppies there. And fish! He's particularly interested in the fish since they seem to be getting ignored in favor of the puppies and birds and lizards.
You might see him talking at a tank of fish in Russian. You might also suspect that he's slightly crazy.]
[Anywhere with Alcohol]
[Hey you! Yes, you! Pavel saw you ordering a drink and he insists on paying for it, please, he won more money in the Siege tournaments (it's one of the local variants of chess, you know, and he made himself slightly infamous in the Siege world, but maybe you don't know about that because you were paying attention to sports that weren't board games) than he knows what to do with, it's his pleasure!]
[Clubs]
[Pavel doesn't usually care for clubs--they tend to be loud and crowded and extremely difficult to hold a decent conversation in--but everyone else is going and... maybe it'll be fun? Possibly? He can at least hang out and see if he finds anyone he knows.
Catch him propping up a wall, drink in hand. Unlike many wallflowers, he looks quite content (but definitely open to company!).
Or find him having a conversation with a lovely orange (and presumably female) local who is, judging from the way she's leaning close and periodically touching his shoulder, very possibly flirting. His expression goes from friendly to intrigued to, finally, politely confused, and his confusion persists after she wanders off to join a newly-arrived group. What was that all about?]
in da clurb
Did you know she was flirting with you?
no subject
I thought that as well, but then she told me that she works as a xenobiologist and asked if I would be willing to provide a genetic sample.
no subject
Did she mention what kind by chance?
no subject
[He comes to an abrupt stop because okay, yes, he sees it now.]
Ah, well. As much as I hope that I misinterpreted her, the number of times that I've been flirted with and the number of times that I've been asked to participate in a scientific study while in the Fleet are roughly the same, so I'm not confident.
no subject
If you can manage a subtle glance to her group, you might notice the looks they're all giving you. I'd say it's a fair best she was flirting.
no subject
Okay, I agree with your assessment of the situation. I misread that badly.
oh my god he's adorable... and i meant bet
<3 brain autocorrected, I saw nothing

cluuuub (also i'm really tired lmk if this makes no sense)
He isn't on the dance floor when he spots Pavel, leaned against the wall and looking like a safe haven from the spirited debate about teams that's somehow formed around him. Kurt makes his excuses and detaches himself from the group, weaving his way between other people.
"You look comfortable," is his greeting, slightly louder than normal to be heard over the music. "Open to help holding up that wall?"
it makes all of the sense!
"I am, and yes, of course." He smiles and waves to all of the open real estate next to him, reigning the gesture in just enough to avoid jeopardizing the drink he's holding. "I admit that you aren't someone I expected to find here."
Hooray!
He lifts his drink in silent thanks when Pavel welcomes him, pivoting to put his back to the wall once he's next to the other man. The observation gets a chuckle and a shrug. "Kitty's fault," he explains, following with, "But I do love dancing, and I don't mind.. All this. Just haven't been in a mood to lately."
no subject
That planet where everyone was dead was a real mood-killer.
no subject
He waves a hand, dismissing the mental tangent before it can fully distract him. "I'm not sure I miss those days. People seemed happier, though it's easier to believe now that the situation is real. Or I could be remembering wrongly."

Alcohol
[He's joking. Mostly. Still, he raises his glass in thanks before taking a drink. ]
Celebrating your big Siege win?
[Because as much as Sokka loves his physical sports, he's still a big old nerd at heart. Pavel played a good game.]
no subject
[Someone's not up on Facebook statuses or Fleet gossip.]
I am, yes--that and trying to win new friends with alcohol.
no subject
[Because he wants to romance her but also because she'd probably break Pavel in half. ]
Well! That's one sure way to do. You're winning me over.
no subject
[She would though, thanks for taking that bullet.]
I am a master strategist, I was almost certain it would work. [Absolutely joking, just not about the master strategist part because that's true.] Your name is Sokka, correct?
no subject
[He's a giver like that. ]I do like a good strategist. It works better than running into something all crazy-like. [He smiles, nodding. ] Guilty as charged. You're...Pavel, right? On the Tourist?
no subject
You know my name and my ship? You've outdone me. [Don't worry, he means it in a nice way. Pavel tries to keep track of who's in the Fleet, but he has yet to memorize ship assignments. Way to go!]

Alcohol
Starstrikers have me covered.
no subject
Then please disregard my offer. You were playing for the Starstrikers?
no subject
I was, yeah. Just a couple games, but enough to get the prizes. [A demonstrative twitch of his foot shows that he's wearing the light up shoes.]
But, hey, if you still want to, I can give you something in exchange. Pretty sure I got some for restaurants and museums and things like that in here.
no subject
I still want to, yes, and I have never refused a voucher for food. [He orders the current special--some kind of silvery, glittery, Starstriker-themed concoction with an unexpected kick.]
no subject
[Kaidan slips one of the vouchers across to Chekov and happily accepts his drink in return]
no subject
[He pockets the voucher with a thank you.]
What do you think of the drink?
