[At last, the day has come: Festival Day! Once again, the Starstrikers have taken the trophy this year. But that doesn't mean members of other teams, or those who didn't play, can't celebrate with the rest of them!

There are parties everywhere. Ribbons, streamers, and confetti litter every major street in the system. (Remember what they say about glitter...) There is food on every block, and people cramming into shops to get in on the merch.

Don't forget about the reason for the festival-- the pet adoption drive! A large playground-type area has been set up on the Starstrikers' desert moon where people can play and interact with the lovable creatures needing new homes. Whether you're looking for companionship or just something to do, there's plenty to coo over! Every pet comes with an info card listing a fanciful name and a general description of their age and temperament. Maybe Sir Pringle the puppy or Marquess Mariana the fish can become your new best friend.

Sadly, the Fleet will be drifting in about a week... but feel free to party until then!]

Oh, so immense. Practically unlimited and unchecked. You know, unless people just want to ignore you and do their own thing or also get themselves made captains.

I would never be so ambitious... although the captain beds do look considerably more comfortable than the one that I have.

There's still only the one captain's bed no matter how many people are captain. I had to fight Vash for it. [By "fight" she means she said she was taking it and did so.] You don't even necessarily have to be captain to do that. It just might make for an easier sell.

How did both of you become captain? Was there a power struggle? A half-hearted mutiny?

I was captain of the Windrose and he was captain of the Three Twins when we merged.

Okay, yes, that does sound more like both of you. I don't know Vash very well, but he seems unlikely to fight you.

Yeah, he probably wouldn't except under very specific circumstances. He's a good guy. A little unusual, but who isn't?

He is... but his hair is alarming. [Sorry Vash, facts are facts.] I think that I'm the most usual person in the Fleet. Particularly after meeting someone who can cure a disease by singing and realizing that this was far from the strangest thing I have heard here.

Yeah, I'm not sure if he does that to himself or if it just comes that way. [She hopes it just comes that way, but she'd be wrong.]

Cure disease by singing? [Skeptical even though the point is everything is weird and nothing can surprise them anymore.]

Yes. You would need to ask Kaname for details, I'm certain I would do a terrible job explaining it.

Huh. I've met her a couple of times but it seems like it keeps happening when I'm drunk. If she talked about healing people with songs I probably thought I was too drunk.

Then again I know a woman who battled with songs. Sound which she turned into light, technically, but she was a singer, so sometimes she used that aspect of it.

...Sonoluminescence? That I understand. In theory, I mean, not as something that a person can do at will. Like your phasing. She was a mutant? [Is now a weird time to talk about mutant science?]

Sono...? Oh! Wait, no, I did read about that. Aren't bubbles involved? I think hers must have worked differently, but maybe it's related? She was a mutant. Alison was an X-Man like me. She's older but she joined the team around when I did.
