[Man, he had the nicest dream. And yeah, he knows it's just a dream, because it's nice. That's literally the criteria the dude works with most nights. His brother and mother and Cas, they were all sitting in the bunker enjoying a movie, or something. He couldn't remember the movie exactly, but there were people who were definitely supposed to be dead there. And they had retired, and it was all good, and they were talking about fishing nearby where it's really abandoned —

When he peels his eyes open he feels like he has the biggest hangover of his life — and is more than a little uneasy (that dream didn't help), and before long he's shuffling through the halls of the Bloodsport like a full month of being missing didn't happen. He knows something's off for sure, but, um. He's also half-awake, hair askew and palm pressing into the socket of one eye to stave off a migraine.]

Man, where'd this even come from...

[Don't worry, it'll go away eventually. He'll just. Make some coffee. Yes.

He sits down with his cup of coffee and turns on his comm device, and nearly spits his drink on it.]

I've been out a month!?

[AW MAN, NOT LOST TIME AGAIN.

Sam Winchester and lost time, not buddies, thanks.

A little while later, after he catches up with his buddies:]

[VOICE.]

Hey, uh. So. I've been out a while. Sorry about that — It's been a hell of a... time... I guess. To be honest, I can't really say it feels like it's been that long. I might as well pick up right where I left off, though — right. Blood drives are at the Iskaulit; I'll be available throughout the next few days for that, if you're interested in donating blood.

You do have some paperwork to fill out, and I'm keeping the cut-off at 16, but for those who qualify, it can be a matter of life or death around here when things go crazy.

For anyone new, hey — I'm Sam Winchester, employee at The Space Bar. I also loan out books from my personal stash if you're feeling bored. If you're a new face to me, I'd love to learn more about you, especially what kind of earth or universe you're from. We all seem to have pretty interesting diverging paths at some point, even if the rest of our Earths match up pretty well.

[He's already hearing a few unpleasant things; you guys are gonna give him gray hair.]

[Obviously.]

But I would not say it was entirely unsuccessful.

I'm guessing any attempts to break through the main doors ended in failure?

[Pause for a beat of silence.]

I will be honest with you - I did not try the doors.

That. That seems like something you should. Probably try at least once, first.

We didn't actually come around to the main doors. Besides, isn't that where the Marsiva ate another ship that one time?

[Thor may not have the exact specifics of what happens when the Marsiva swallows defunct ships, but he does know he wants to steer clear of it.]

Huh.

... I wonder where it went.

Maybe we should try to get it to open its mouth again.

You know that's a weird thing to say, right?

[And this coming from an alien God of Thunder who doesn't think to try the doors.]

Do you have any better ideas? Since your plan apparently didn't work out.

No, the find you part of the plan didn't work. The attack part went fine.

[Even if he doesn't fully believe in keeping things off the network, he does it anyway just in case.]

Sounds like a plan to me. You want me to come to you?

[Because he can definitely drop by for this kind of juicy scoop, Mr. Thunder God.]

Sure. I'm on the Iskaulit at the moment, I'll meet you at the shuttle bay.

Got it, I'll find you there.

[And so Sam Winchester ventures out to find the god of thunder, his fellow Tall Man.

Don't you wander too far off, he wants some juicy answers, fella.]

[No chance of that. Thor finishes what he was doing and heads over to the shuttle bay as agreed. He's leaning against a wall there when Sam docks, straightening up with a smile when the other man approaches.]

Good to see you in the flesh, Winchester. Castiel was very concerned for you.

So I've heard. He made sure my brain wasn't leaking from my ears — or whatever he was going for.

[He smiles a little, looking content (if not a little exasperated) enough with the concern.]

Good to see you, too, though. That was a pretty risky move you guys made.

[Not that he's judging at all; he does it all the time.]

[Thor merely chuckles, far enough away from the event now to find some humour in it.]

I think this Fleet could use more risk. I was tired of being told what couldn't be done.

It is pretty maddening, trying to find something to do about it all. I'm used to taking pretty immediate action when shit hits the fan. Here, though...? It's a trickle of success, and never where you expect it.

So it would seem. But we did have some success, in two areas. Seeing what kind of damage the hull can withstand, and also seeing inside at least one room.

[This wouldn't usually measure up to Thor's yardstick for success. With progress being so 'trickly' here though, as Sam put it, he does take this as a step in the right direction.]
