[Manji doesn't spend a lot of time on the ship. Choosing to sleep like a hobo on the SS Iskaulit instead to avoid certain crew members as his request to change ships keeps getting ignored.

Today is one of those days where he's on board to take what he feels is his fair share of food and other items.

He starts in the kitchen and looks around at the food. Finding everything is organized by label colour.] What the--? Is this, by colour? [The hell?] Well, that's just stupid.

[Not that it stops him from "stealing" some food by stuffing it into a bag.

He'll be polite enough to everyone (except Katie) and he'll even give some advise if he runs into anyone new.] I suggest changing ships. The captain here is crazy.

Maybe. [For values of crazy. It's not the word Natasha would use, but she's also not going to argue it.

What she will do is shrug, though.] But seems like she's more captain in name only. She doesn't exactly go around trying to get us to fall in line.

[Natasha appreciates it.]

She tries to tell me what to do. [Violently.] Careful, maybe while I'm off the ship she'll find someone else to boss around.

I'll keep that in mind. [Still not all that concerned by it. Natasha's been here long enough not to worry.] Any idea how long you'll be gone?

If my ship transfer will finally go through hopefully for good. Otherwise, I don't know, maybe a few weeks? [Until he runs out of food?]

How long's it been pending? [Her tone conversational, not invested in talking him out of it at all.]

Since I showed up on this ship. [So long enough that it's very likely never getting completely.] I've just put in another request. It seems like my first might have gotten lost.

Do you know how long those things tend to take?

Never submitted one myself, but everyone I know who's done it has been moved within a week or two.

[Which leads her to just that conclusion.]

Probably a good idea to submit another one.

[canofmanji]

A week? [Nope, he's not happy about that.] Yeah. I think I will. They better not lose this one.

[outstandingbalance]

Give or take. [She doesn't necessarily seem optimistic he'll have better luck this time.] If they do, maybe you could get someone to smuggle supplies off the ship for you? So you ddn't have to come back so often.

[canofmanji]

This is my ship too until I get a transfer. I'm not going to let her stop me from takin' what's mine. [He really isn't taking much. Just a few of the supplies that automatically refill anyway.]

I'm not afraid of her. [Which is why he's avoiding her and not sleeping on the ship.]

[Yeah, she noticed that. And she's wondering if she should not point it out.

Probably she should not.]

Just seemed like you wanted to avoid her.

Yeah, well, I figure these people that stuck me here on this ship put me here to fight her. I'm not going to give them that satisfaction. [That's at least what he was going to tell himself.]

[While Leia's not about to pass judgment solely on the opinion of someone she doesn't even know, she'd be lying if she said she weren't curious where this was coming from.]

Why do you say that?

[about the crazy, that is.]

Because you try to help her out and she attacks you for it! [That is not what happened, but that's how Manji remembers it happening.] That seems pretty crazy to me. [Not that he seems overly concerned or overly emotional about being attacked. He actually says it pretty deadpan way.]

[oratorical]

[That gets an eyebrow raise out of Leia, both the response and the deadpan tone used as he explains. It's not what she expected.]

Should I ask what you were trying to help with?

[canofmanji]

She was on a... [A small pause as he tries to figure out the words to describe it.] ...on a train track that was up in the air. Running in circles. [A roller coaster. He means a roller coaster.] I tried to warn her and she shoved me into a small man made lake for my trouble. [Now he means a pool.]

[oratorical]

[Okay, there's a lot there to decipher. Floating train tracks and being shoved into a man-made lake. It's an interesting sort of mental image, and Leia's almost convinced she's imagining this entirely wrong.]

You warned her about being on a train track in the air?

[canofmanji]

Well, I started on the ground shouting up at her. I wasn't stupid enough to play on tracks of a train that moves as fast and as often as that kart did. She then teleported me to the top and shoved me off again.

[oratorical]

[His explanation adds just as much as it doesn't add. Which is to say, Leia's still confused here.]

How was she able to teleport you up that high?

[canofmanji]

She has some sort of magic. Curses people or something.

[oratorical]

[well out of everything she's seen and heard here so far, she supposes that's not the most bizarre thing she's encountered. Probably.]

Does she use this often?

[canofmanji]

She does around me. So.... I suppose she does? [Could be that she just likes messing with him. He really doesn't know.]

[oratorical]

[Leia frowns, just slightly. She isn't sure how much weight to place in this version of events, but it's not a favorable account, that's for sure.]

I'll have to ask her about this at some point.

Do what you like. Just don't say I didn't warn you if she curses you or something for just being in a mood or something.
