let's play a game ...
[It's been a while since your lovely hosts have graced the airwaves with their presence, but here they are. Carmen and Chase smile in turn with flawless teeth and an impeccable arch of their eyebrows. Carmen seems incredibly tickled-- excited, even. Her normally dulcet voice is brimming with anticipation, and her aquamarine eyes gleam in a way that is not altogether friendly.]
Good evening, dear Fleet! I hope you had a pleasant journey through that asteroid belt... or at least an unremarkable one. We wouldn't want your poor ships to get all banged up again.
[Chase cuts in with the brisk timing of a reporter, far too rehearsed to be natural.] And a big warm welcome to all the new faces. Please don’t hesitate to inform us if there is something we can do to make your stay a comfortable one.
Of course. Now, let's talk about summer. It’s the highlight of the year, at least for some. Because summer only happens once a year, and to commemorate how wonderful you've all been as guests, we're giving everyone a gift basket. While it's not an all-expenses-paid resort, we do hope you'll find a suitable place to kick back, relax, and enjoy yourselves.
Everyone will find their gift underneath their beds. If you're sleeping on someone else's ship-- oh my-- you'll want to make sure to fetch it before someone else does! I do hope you enjoy them.
[The gift baskets, which are wrapped in a cute pink ribbon, contain: this or that style of sunglasses, an extremely flimsy white beach towel, and a cloth sunglasses case.]
Now that we have your attention~ Summer is a party, but what's a party without games? One of my favorites is a little thing called kiss, marry, cliff. Essentially, someone gives you three names of people you know, and then you decide what you’d do to each person. I find it says a lot about your likes and dislikes.
Because I’m curious, here are some people who’ve caught my attention as of late: Castiel, Daryl Dixon, Shinji Ikari.
Tell me, dear Fleet: which ones would you kiss, marry, or toss off a cliff?
[Carmen ends the feed with a cold giggle.]
[ooc: What’s this? A distraction tactic, obviously! The Hosts are trying to draw attention away from the new planet for some reason…? Huh, wonder what that’s about. Feel free to respond to the F/M/K game and start your own threads below, if you’d like-- you may even get a response!]

Don't think everyone's forgotten about what happened to the old hosts last year.

I can't play that game though, don't know any of those guys. Well. I met Daryl once, but once isn't enough to commit!

[look at that. it may be just a coincidence, but here they come prancing back right after they all chat about how they've only had radio silence. maybe he should poke at this a little.]
I was starting to wonder if they'd 'fired' the two of you, also.

[Edna sounds so unimpressed.]
I'd wondered if there was something worst than humans.

[ But it is odd that this transmission came now, at the heels of a new location and not before when Castiel and his team were clearly flouting the rules. ]
And where do we submit our suggestions, pray tell?

You could at least ask somebody's permission before including them in your games!

Which is why once she does get around to broadcasting a "response," it's a few minutes late, and she's giving the camera the same I-am-not-remotely-amused glare as she did the last time around. But hey, at least she's not near an airlock again! No, now she's on the bridge of the Bishop, and not actually holding the gift basket! Hurray, it's safe!
In fact, it can be seen juuuust a little ways outside- safe from being fired into the cold vacuum of space, sitting peacefully in an empty field near the edge of the many floating islands. That pretty pink ribbon even adds just a little splash of color to help anyone viewing from the network spot the gift basket with ease! And it's even rippling a bit in the breeze, like it's giving the ship a happy little wave.
Or, it was, until Looma presses a few buttons on her security console. The Bishop's guns roar to life immediately, and in short order the basket and its immediate surroundings are blasted straight to hell. The ship's is enough to block out most of the noise, but a series of multiple muffled booms do rattle the bridge for a bit, shortly before the hull and viewports start getting pelted with bits of falling dirt and other debris.
It's only after continuing to glare right into the camera for a few more silent seconds that she ends the broadcast. They've got to give up and stop sending her these things eventually, right?]

[What exactly are the hosts jobs? Just to heckle, apparently, but he figures it can't hurt to ask.]

Thank you so much for the gift! I shall treasure it! But I'm afraid I have my own signature style I need to keep up. Wouldn't want to disappoint my fans after all! So I think I'll keep using my old pair. The case may come in handy so my thanks to you! [He will be just utterly disappointed when he "accidentally" leaves the gifts behind somewhere. Opps! How forgetful of him!]
And aw. You mean I haven't caught our wonderful hosts attention? [He visibly looks upset by this.] Aw, man. What does a guy have to do to win the fair maidens hearts? Guess I'll have to keep on trying.
[He's not sure if either of the hosts are still listening. Vash typically assumes that they're always watching in one form or another. He doesn't really expect a reply, but he's always happy to act the clueless, smiling, happy idiot when he can.]

Why were they on your radar?
text;
And she really can't stand that thought.
Sorting out the options is difficult. Obviously, "Kill" is not an option for Daryl. But she also can't bear the thought of voting to kill anybody so young as Shinji. So that means Castiel gets that vote, whoever that is. Voting between the other two for the other two options is difficult as well. Again, voting to "fuck" somebody around Carl's age is really uncomfortable. For some reason "Marry" feels less creepy. Go figure.
She does it in text because that way she doesn't have to let anybody see her face. ]
This is stupid.
Fuck Daryl. Marry Shinji. Kill Castiel.

So that's fine.

[ He wouldn't like this game even if it didn't involve him, damnit! ]
voice; no really chill
[There's a pause here, as though he's trying, and hoping to succeed, at getting a point across.]
Just an innocent game. It might be interesting to see what happens if we play along, you know? So long as you can pay attention to a few things at once. Getting distracted in a new place is never a good idea.
[That last statement is made slowly, pointedly. This is a distraction tactic, Daryl. These people kidnapped us. They don't want to chill and have a good time with us, but they don't really need to know we know that.]
voice; being chill is not his strong point, heh
