Her normally dulcet voice is brimming with anticipation, and her aquamarine eyes gleam in a way that is not altogether friendly.]

Good evening, dear Fleet! I hope you had a pleasant journey through that asteroid belt... or at least an unremarkable one. We wouldn't want your poor ships to get all banged up again.

[Chase cuts in with the brisk timing of a reporter, far too rehearsed to be natural.] And a big warm welcome to all the new faces. Please don’t hesitate to inform us if there is something we can do to make your stay a comfortable one.

Of course. Now, let's talk about summer. It’s the highlight of the year, at least for some. Because summer only happens once a year, and to commemorate how wonderful you've all been as guests, we're giving everyone a gift basket. While it's not an all-expenses-paid resort, we do hope you'll find a suitable place to kick back, relax, and enjoy yourselves.

Everyone will find their gift underneath their beds. If you're sleeping on someone else's ship-- oh my-- you'll want to make sure to fetch it before someone else does! I do hope you enjoy them.

[The gift baskets, which are wrapped in a cute pink ribbon, contain: this or that style of sunglasses, an extremely flimsy white beach towel, and a cloth sunglasses case.]

Now that we have your attention~ Summer is a party, but what's a party without games? One of my favorites is a little thing called kiss, marry, cliff. Essentially, someone gives you three names of people you know, and then you decide what you’d do to each person. I find it says a lot about your likes and dislikes.

Because I’m curious, here are some people who’ve caught my attention as of late: Castiel, Daryl Dixon, Shinji Ikari.

Tell me, dear Fleet: which ones would you kiss, marry, or toss off a cliff?

[Carmen ends the feed with a cold giggle.]

It's goddamn bullshit.

[ Just people trying to rile them up, he thinks. It's not that he's taking it particularly seriously-- less seriously than Carol did, thinking it's worth playing along to make sure he doesn't lose the theoretical vote-- he just doesn't want to be involved.

He gets the idea, kind of. He's just not sure there's anything to be learned, except that the people who kidnapped them are shitty assholes, which he already knew. ]

[Bull chuckles.]

Maybe so, but what's getting angry about it going to solve. [he pauses for a moment.] You planning on going down to that planet?

[ isn't being pissed off it's own reward?

He's quiet a moment too, not sure what to make of the subject change. ]

Dunno. Maybe.

[ probably. It'd be safer not to-- they don't know yet what really went on at the station-- but being stuck on a ship is likely to make him crazy. ]

[ There's slight amusement in his voice when he continues, nonchalant like they're talking about the weather. ]

Somebody doesn't want us to. That's sort of suspicious, right?

Think that's a good reason?

[ Actually, it's a good point, he tends to agree. Daryl can take a cue, and even if he's still inwardly kind of fuming, he settles into sounding calmer than he actually feels. ]

Shit yeah.

[ And that's an answer to both questions, sparky. ]

[ He huffs a laugh. Bull, he likes you. ]

Ain't like I got anything better to do.

Not at all. [ And he grins. He's really starting to like you too, Daryl. ]

And I've really been wanting to hit something.

Might get lucky.

[ Really Daryl would rather they not find trouble. But he has very little faith in that happening. ]

Shit, here's hoping.

[ He pauses. ]

Hey, so. You guys see a lot of action where you're from, right?

[ He grunts an assent. ]

Some, yeah.

[ understatement: his greatest superpower. ]

[ It's all good, Daryl. He's heard from Carl. ]

What's your weapon? [ Of choice, that is. ]

Bows, crossbows. Depends. Whatever I got.

[ at least knives are universal! ]

I can use anything in a pinch.

[ He pauses. ]

Not really good at aiming, though, and I'm a big guy. I like swinging something big, see how many I can get in one go.

[ Yeah, that's pretty much what he'd expect. He grunts agreeably. ]
