[It's a party for a narcissistic redhead who likes to be reminded she's alive.  Come celebrate!  Alternately, come sneak in and steal the food!  There's a bar set up for drinks drastically lowered to cost-price or to-be-paid-later-tab, a non-alcoholic punch in case of wandering minors (spike it and Nami will end you) and random snacks.

Oh, and a pool.  Which is heated.  Kind of important, that part.

Step right up, I'm reliably informed we'll have Thor with his shirt off, take pictures while you can.]

[Ben has an excellent view for all pool-related activities, a drink in hand, and an appreciation for the male form so he's set, and there's Thor, and look he makes his own fun okay, he doesn't have to be social.

I haven't fallen off an island or out of a boat yet so I'd say it's going pretty good. How 'bout you? Kill the spooky mist monster yet?

No. I have yet to encounter it, only seen where it has been. I'll have my chance yet.

Yeah, I bet you will. I wanna watch you zap the thing.

That is the plan, yes. It shouldn't be too hard.

[Somehow he has confidence in this despite the stories and never having seen the monster in the flesh. Thor rests his arms on the side of the pool.]

There's just a whole planet of mist for it to hide in.

Yeah, but if it's doing monster things, and folks want to track it, someone's probably gonna genius up a way to track it. Or it'll do monster things where someone'll see it and send up the bat signal or something. Who knows.

Either way, I'm sure you'll get to zap it.

If it is truly eating islands then spotting it shouldn't be a problem. It's more that people nearby would likely be trying to flee.

[And Thor doesn't blame them for that. If the very ground you stand on is getting devoured, getting the hell out of there is a reasonable response. If you can't fight.]

I mean, I would hope the folks who live here know how to avoid it and all. Or does it come around the islands we're all hanging out on?

[he's not caught up on the monster knowledge, to be honest, he's only heard a few things]

It does not seem to have a pattern to it, not that I've heard. You can go out and visit islands it has partly devoured. There are great pieces taken out of the sides, teeth marks. Things like that.

Yeah, see, I'm going to give that a hard pass. All I've got are bullets and those go right through mist, and I'm a magnet for bad luck so I don't want to take my chances. But I'll keep that in mind for anyone else dumb enough to go out there.

[Thor grins a bit at that, amused.]

If you truly attract bad luck, it could find you anyway.

I would still prefer to bring it down, if it's causing such damage to the islands here. It's the only land these people have.

I'm sure they'd appreciate it if you pulled it off. [he doesn't doubt Thor could do it, but he doubts the Atroma would let it happen that easily] Let me know when you do it so I can be on the other side of the planet so I don't taint your luck.
