[It's a party for a narcissistic redhead who likes to be reminded she's alive.  Come celebrate!  Alternately, come sneak in and steal the food!  There's a bar set up for drinks drastically lowered to cost-price or to-be-paid-later-tab, a non-alcoholic punch in case of wandering minors (spike it and Nami will end you) and random snacks.

Oh, and a pool.  Which is heated.  Kind of important, that part.

Step right up, I'm reliably informed we'll have Thor with his shirt off, take pictures while you can.]

[ SPLASH.

What, that wasn't timed for when you came up for air or anything.

And that is totally not Katara's laugh quickly muffled as she ducks down under the water and swims away.

But. 1) The splash was not done with waterbending, so dodging could certainly be a thing and

2) She too will have to come up for air sometime... ]

[An attack, at a party? Outrageous. Thor sputters as he gets a face-full of water just when he was expecting air, whipping his head around to see where it came from. That laugh was familiar. All he can really see though is a dark shape flitting off under the water.

So, that's how she wants to play it. Thor scowls for a moment before he dives back under himself. Fortunately for him, he can hold his breath for a while.]

[ Katara isn't trying particularly hard to get away. You don't start a splash war with Thor without expecting some follow-through. But she was in a pool, and she was prepared... and she had to take a breath sometime, so she surfaces just enough to gasp for air and peer around. ]

[Coast seems clear ... if only because Thor was patient enough to wait. Still under the water he circles around behind her before surfacing, immediately slapping a small wave of water at her.]

[ She can't help sensing the water move behind her when he splashes her - that's not part of her abilities that can be turned off. But she chooses not to do anything about it. She 'EEP!'s as the water splashes over her and immediately dives back under the surface, lifting her legs in a dolphin-like motion to make sure to splash down against the surface so that a wave shoots out behind her as she goes to disappear back beneath the water. ]

[This time he was expecting such shenanigans, only -- not exactly like that. Thor still gets a mouthful of water, sputtering with frustration.]

What the hell.

[It's rude. Thor flips over onto his back and kicks off against the wall of the pool, creating some distance from where he just was.]

[ Bwahahaha.

She turns beneath the water, half expecting him to have followed her - but sees that he's heading off in a different direction. Oh well, all the better for her if he's not going to try to grab and dunk her, keeping it to splashing is fine. (And also... way better for her, since there's no way she can dunk him.)

She decides to maintain the attack - sort of - and swims toward him, following and surfacing a bit further away when she needs to take a breath. ]

Do you give up?

[ Pfff, as if he would. ]

[Thor flips back to stand in the water, eyeing Katara critically... before splashing her in the face.]

Never.

[ A direct hit! She sputters, blinking the pool water from her eyes before laughing. ] Good!

[ She is very proud of herself for not just bending it to a stop, that is not how this game is played, but it takes extra effort to not put any unbalanced force behind the splash she aims in his direction for retaliation. Immediately, she springs off the pool floor and to the side in an attempt to thwart his inevitable return attack. ]

[Right, he's expecting to get doused at this point, it hardly phases him! Except when it gets in his eye. He does only have one of those. With an overwrought snarl, Thor dives again in order to better see where Katara's sprung off too.]

[ She's not far - she's surfaced again and is glancing around for him. She's made her way into the deeper end of the pool and is treading water - in a moment, she'll realize she'll be better off diving down to find him, but right now, she's just glancing about. ]

[Good. She's looking in the wrong direction. Thor swims over that way, still submerged, and reaches out to yank on her ankle. He lets go just as fast to stroke back over to the pool wall, aiming to make use of the distraction.]

Eep! [ And with a splash, down she goes, yanked below the surface by her super-strong foe.

She resurfaces, sputtering, almost immediately after - but only long enough to gasp for breath before diving again. She opens her eyes in the water to try to spot Thor and starts swimming underwater toward him once she does. ]

[By the time Katara looks Thor's reached the wall - it's not that big of a pool. Before she can reach him again he braces his hands on the edge of the pool and hauls himself out of it, twisting around to sit on the edge. That leaves just his legs in the water, and Thor with a much better vantage point to see the girl coming.]

[ Even under water, it's easy to see when Thor is suddenly not there. So she's not fool enough to surface close to him, remaining several feet away when she comes up for air. ]

You think that'll save you? [ She will totally splash you and the people behind you, if need be. ]

Nope.

[And with that, he just kicks more water her way.]

[ Psh, nope. She ducks back under the water to avoid the splash. Granted, it gets her way more wet than if she'd taken the hit, but it wasn't with his water, so - ha!

She decides - heck, why not? - to swim forward under water in an attempt to grab Thor's ankles and drag him back in. She doesn't think it'll work, necessarily, considering he is much, much heavier than she is, but she figures it's worth a shot. The whole thing is for the joy of being ridiculous anyway. ]
