[It's a party for a narcissistic redhead who likes to be reminded she's alive.  Come celebrate!  Alternately, come sneak in and steal the food!  There's a bar set up for drinks drastically lowered to cost-price or to-be-paid-later-tab, a non-alcoholic punch in case of wandering minors (spike it and Nami will end you) and random snacks.

Oh, and a pool.  Which is heated.  Kind of important, that part.

Step right up, I'm reliably informed we'll have Thor with his shirt off, take pictures while you can.]

[Now Kaname starts to giggle as the mercat flips on to his back and basically plays dead.]

I should leave that up to you.

Hm. That, or smaller treats.

[HE DOESN'T WANT TO GIVE UP it's nice to have an excuse to spend time with her, okay.

Q-Lulu rolls over again, wobbling sideways in the water. It's a bit like trying to train a water balloon.]

Sure, let's try that.

[Kaname sinks lower in the water so her face is half submerged. Slowly, she sneaks around to Q-Lulu's other side.

The mercat floats idly around, only to splash with a startle when Kaname comes into view so close. He speeds his way over to Messer.]

[vartex]

[.....

okay that was definitely a fluke, he was just startled, it wasn't the least bit intentional.

.....

Messer gives the mercat a treat.]

That method's effective.

[axi]

[Despite staying submerged, she waggles her eyebrows, and Messer should clearly be able to see her smile under the water.

In fact, she makes her way over towards him. Uh-oh...]

[Uh-oh, indeed. He watches her for a moment, lifting a brow.

Then he lifts Q-Lulu up out of the water and sets him down on her head.]

[That definitely surprises Kaname, and she snorts in laughter, shooting upwards again to cough out the water that entered her mouth. She isn't bothered at all, still laughing with a grin.

Poor Q-Lulu just clings to her head for balance.]

You win.

[vartex]

[Is that a smile? Yeah that's a smile. He feels kind of proud of himself for that one.

And Kaname looks real silly with a mercat on her head.]

I'll try to be a gracious victor.

[axi]

How noble of you.

[Kaname steps forward, not leaving too much space between them when she tilts her head forward in his direction.]

Your crown.

[vartex]

fuck that's too close

He stares her down for a long moment, resisting, until finally he scoops Q-Lulu up and deposits him on the mohawk, hastily turning away. He can't deal, it's too embarrassing.

Q-Lulu's tail wiggles out of the back of his fluff.]

[axi]

[Kaname can't help the squeak of laughter that escapes her when she sees the tail. She immediately sinks into the water and moves backwards to take in the entire picture.]

You look so regal.

[vartex]

[Ugh stooooop. He's gonna die.]

I'm sure I look absurd.

[axi]

Never.

[Still grinning that both of them, she holds out her hands for Q-Lulu.]

Try tilting your head forward.

[vartex]

Kaname...

[His tone is long-suffering, but he tilts his head as instructed. Don't fly off the wrong way, little buddy.]

[axi]

[Her smile's all innocence as Q-Lulu slides off his mohawk slope and right into her outstretched grasp.]

See, he's fine.

[vartex]

[Messer peers over his shoulder at the two of them, and then turns around and pokes the mercat in his dumb dopey cheek.]

And still clueless.

[axi]

I take that to mean training is over, huh?

[Kaname sets the mercat back in the water. He immediately flips over and plays dead.]

We can go towards the deep end now at least.

[vartex]

Consider it a project.

[He can play the long game, that's fine. Add it to his list of things to do.

But yeah, okay, he'll even go swimming with her, now.]

[axi]

I've no doubt you'll complete it in time.

[With a grin, she dives in and makes her way down the length of the pool.]
