[It's a party for a narcissistic redhead who likes to be reminded she's alive.  Come celebrate!  Alternately, come sneak in and steal the food!  There's a bar set up for drinks drastically lowered to cost-price or to-be-paid-later-tab, a non-alcoholic punch in case of wandering minors (spike it and Nami will end you) and random snacks.

Oh, and a pool.  Which is heated.  Kind of important, that part.

I know. You too. That's what we talked about at Lumiere's party, right? [That there were others. That there could be others. But she's sure that won't feel as easy as it sounded. Especially knowing Vash didn't exactly have a lot of experience before her. She reaches up to smooth back some of his wet hair. It's not very successful but the point was really just to touch him. Add some comfort and attention to him.]

Well, yes, we did. It just seemed like a good time to bring it up for some reason. [He chuckles and awkwardly rubs at the back of his neck.] Or at least, it felt like it might be.

[She looks at him, not sure how much she should share of Chekov's business, but it's hers too?] I've known for while. Since well before Winn left. [She doesn't want him to think it's something new she's just starting to process.]

Yeah, he vaguely mentioned something like that. [Vash shakes his head. Also not sure how far he should be sharing.] He's a good guy, but you can't help how you feel. That's no one's fault.

I know. And I do love him. It's just not the same kind of love. [That just doesn't seem to stop hurting him though.]

That's the amazing thing about love. [He takes her hand in his own with a smile.] It comes in all different styles.

[Suddenly talking about love with Vash feels very awkward, but she doesn't try to take her hand back.] Mm...yeah. [Good answer.]

How did that dance go? Or how do you tell when you've been in the water too long. I've heard it has something to do with wrinkly skin. [He tells a small lie. He's been in a bath too long before. He knows what happens when you stay in the water too long.]

[That gets a little smile.] Are you calling me old and wrinkled?

I'm pretty sure I can't call you old. Wrinkled on the other hand? [He says with a wolfish grin.]

See, this is where you dunk somebody. [She doesn't actually dunk him. She leans in to kiss his cheek.]

You know, I can breath underwater thanks to the water planet. So you can dunk me any time you want.

[He winks.] But the kiss is much nicer.

You can breathe underwater and you were pushing me under? [She lightly smacks his arm.] Jerk! [This isn't Kitty when she's actually angry. Maybe a little miffed, but not ANGRY.]

Ow! [It didn't hurt that bad, but Vash plays along and rubs at his arm.] Dunking. I was dunking! It seemed like a thing to do when playing in the water! I'm new to what not to do in a pool, remember? Pushing makes it sound like I was then going to hold you under. [Not his intention!]

[Have a SIGH.] You know you could have been kissing me instead, right?

Noted for future reference! Kissing; good. Dunking; bad.

What are your thoughts on make up kisses?

Make up kisses are pretty good. [She smiles a little.]

Good. [He gives her a kiss.] Then get ready for a lot of those, because I'm a bit of a screw up on my best days.

On the bright side, I'm going to look so good in comparison. [Teasing as she kisses him again.]

Oooh yes. Yes you are. That was never in doubt. [He resists kissing her again if only because he's suddenly acutely aware people might be watching. Before he wouldn't care, but now there's one person he does care if they're watching.] And I also look better because I have such a pretty woman putting up with me.

See, it's not going to be any fun being mean to you if you just agree with me. [She smiles at him.] And then I'll have to be sweet to you and ruin my reputation and then where will we be?

[goldenglasses]

Oh! We can't have your reputation ruined, now can we? Okay, let me try this again. [He "thinks" for a moment.] You could never look good in comparison by being next to me because you're already too hot and there's nothing that could make you look more gorgeous.

[He winks.] How'd I do?

[She smiles and turns away a little to try and hide a blush.] You're ridiculous. Do you mean any of this stuff? [Kind of hoping he means it.]

[He loves watching her blush as he smiles a bit devilishly knowing he caused it. Vash reaches forward to cup her cheek in his hand, gently trying to turn her face back towards him so he can give her a more passionate kiss.]

Well? Does that seem like I mean it?

[She lets him guide her and kisses him back, getting a little lost in it for a moment. She can feel a mix of longing for more and a burst of nervous fluttering from butterflies inside about doing this much so soon. As it it's soon really.]

Mmm...maaaaaybe a little.
