Experiencing some culture
Who: Biffy and YOU
Broadcast: No
Action: Planetside
When: Various points through the month
Shopping
[Anyone who knows Biffy will know that of course he is going to take advantage of the shopping that is available here. Not only does he need to be shopping for himself but he also needs to be shopping for a certain captain who signed his wardrobe away to him. (Minus pieces of sentimental value naturally.)
That means that he can easily be found in various shops looking through what is available. At times he can be seen with some nicely wrapped packages or with some bags. Never more than a few at a time though. He would never burden himself so utterly with an overflowing load of purchased items. He has far too much pride in his appearance for that obviously.
But this does mean he's quite easy to run into it. Feel free to do so. He's even willing to give recommendations for items for you to purchase.]
Theater
[It's been a little while since he's had the chance to properly go to the theater. This life doesn't appear to really allow for it. A shame really since he's terribly fond of it. He remembers going to plenty of shows years ago when he was but a drone. Supporting the other boys in their artistic endeavors. Even now he smiles fondly at the thought as he stands in the lobby waiting for the show to start.
Everyone knows that you don't go your seat immediately, after all. One must first mingle a little then find your seat just before the curtain rises. That way various fashions can be compared and admired. It's terribly obvious really.
More than likely he's brought someone he knows to the show with him. If not then feel free to run into him. He does love to socialize.]

[ Now Kirk shifts, the tone of the conversation not a place he usually went. He fiddled with the edges of his sleeve to give his hands something to do, working off a fraction of that nervous energy. ]
I don't know that I would call it casual, exactly. Two years isn't casual. As for more - we're happy.
no subject
[Biffy notes that nervous energy. For someone happy and content with what he has, that energy is a tell-tale sign of otherwise.]
Perhaps you find it easier to avoid the conversation?
no subject
That kind of conversation isn't an easy one to have in a place like this.
[ Where you can go to sleep one night with your lover, and wake up the next and they're gone. Remnants left behind. Fenris was gone, and Remy had left him once before. To say he didn't want to have that conversation was probably an understatement. He had never been good at discussion those kinds of things before, and it wasn't any better here, already bitten twice. Kirk, a man of passion and bravery - but terrified of his own feelings. ]

You are not the first to have your life torn from you. To have that which you love taken away. The greatest terror of our lives is to expose ourselves and open ourselves up. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't do it.
[He lowers his hand then offers him a smile.]
I won't make you do anything you don't wish to do. I only ask that you consider things. Ask yourself if your own fears are worth closing yourself off from someone you care about.
[With that, he steps away. There's a sort of sadness in his eyes that speaks of experience before he turns away.]
You can change into the next outfit if you wish.

[ It wasn't an expression he had thought to ever see on Biffy, and it takes him by surprise. Frankly, he's not sure how to react, even less so because the actual subject matter is uncomfortable for him. He just wasn't sure how to talk about those kinds of feelings, how to process them half the time. He had spent so long simply avoiding them that actually having them was strange all on its own. He coughed when Biffy stepped back and nodded, making for the dressing room. ]
How many did you pick out for me?
no subject
Were you not able to see for yourself when you went through the clothes to pick the first outfit?
no subject
I decided that it was better if I focused on just the one for the moment. One thing at a time.
[ So no, he didn't count, otherwise he might lose his nerve. Like being told to do a hundred squats in a row. Daunting. He pulled the curtain and took on the next outfit, striding out a few minutes later for inspection. ]
no subject
[Just...improving it.]
no subject
Anything beyond two outfits is overwhelming for me. Before coming to the fleet, I spent five years of my life in the same outfit practically every day except shore leave.
[ So shopping is not his general forte or even something he had done to much before. ]
no subject
You have been here long enough for that to be utterly unnecessary. You can have more than two outfits now.
no subject
True, but space is limited and I've always been more concerned with comfort and functionality.
[ He comes out of the dressing room in the new outfit, still fussing with the cuffs of the new shirt. ]
no subject
What he will do is come up to gently move Kirk's hands from the cuffs to adjust them himself.]
They're uncomfortable because they aren't sized correctly. That will be fixed in the final product, I assure you.
[With that, he steps back to study it and then reaches up to fix the collar.]
Not bad. The pants are all wrong though. Not your fault though. This is the cut. It doesn't do near enough to bring out your better qualities.
[He is very much talking about that backside he studies for a second before moving around to his front again.]
no subject
[ You could, Biffy. He's seen it many more times from many more people, probably more obviously and with more flare even. It's an art, some might say, aboard his ship. He let Biffy do the adjusting, knowing which of his battles to pick. ]
Ah, I think I understand which qualities you mean now. Yes, those are quite important to make look their best.
[ He smirked at Biffy, turning his head to follow the other's progress around him. ]
no subject
[He says it so matter of factly that he might even be talking about the weather. It's just so obvious to him!]
Could you try on another pair of pants for me please?
no subject
Well since you asked nicely...
[ He went back in, keeping on the same shirt, and coming out in the third pair of pants Biffy had chosen for him. ]
Well? How are these at amplifying my assets?
no subject
[He smiles warmly as he nods.]
I will talk to the owner about having your outfits made while you change.
[A pause then...]
Do you like the feel and movement of the fabrics?
no subject
[ He did a few movements, striding across the shop, coming back, doing a few squats and jumping. The fabric didn't feel restrictive, though he did have questions about its durability given the usual shenanigans that happened to him on any given planet. ]
The feel is fine, and movement seems all right. I'm more concerned with durability, but I suppose that will just have to be outright tested.
no subject
[He knows what he's doing, Kirk. He's good at this.]
no subject
[ It was definitely strange. Definitely new. It wasn't... comfortable. Because it wasn't what he was used to. He looked in the mirror, and he wondered how... complacent he had possibly become. Five years in uniforms. Two years drifting in this place. His wardrobe had never been a concern, true, but maybe he did need this. Something like this. A way to start something new that was, to some degree, under his control. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad. ]
So are you going to add styling services to your salon? Or am I just that special?
[ He cracked a smile in the mirror at Biffy - rolling up his cuffs as he said it. ]
no subject
[He gives an elegant sort of bow. (And tries to ignore the rolling up of the sleeves.)]
I will be right back. I just need to go give your measurements to the owner.
no subject
All right. I'll change then.
[ He went back into the room and switched back into his comfortable, familiar clothing. He glanced in the mirror and, all right, he could see what Biffy meant. Those other pants did show off his rear better. Not that these jeans didn't! Just... Biffy's choice did it better. Damn it. He stepped out, looking for the wolf and shifting when he came back over. ]
Hey, Biffy... thanks. For doing this.
no subject
You can thank me by wearing the clothes.
[And he winks at him.]
no subject
Do you like the look of my assets that much?
[ He smirked back. ]
no subject
no subject
Well, I am very pleased you find my assets lovely.
[ He'll choose to take that away from the statement. As a statement of fact, of course, not anything else. ]
