Shopping

[Anyone who knows Biffy will know that of course he is going to take advantage of the shopping that is available here. Not only does he need to be shopping for himself but he also needs to be shopping for a certain captain who signed his wardrobe away to him. (Minus pieces of sentimental value naturally.)

That means that he can easily be found in various shops looking through what is available. At times he can be seen with some nicely wrapped packages or with some bags. Never more than a few at a time though. He would never burden himself so utterly with an overflowing load of purchased items. He has far too much pride in his appearance for that obviously.

But this does mean he's quite easy to run into it. Feel free to do so. He's even willing to give recommendations for items for you to purchase.]

Theater

[It's been a little while since he's had the chance to properly go to the theater. This life doesn't appear to really allow for it. A shame really since he's terribly fond of it. He remembers going to plenty of shows years ago when he was but a drone. Supporting the other boys in their artistic endeavors. Even now he smiles fondly at the thought as he stands in the lobby waiting for the show to start.

Everyone knows that you don't go your seat immediately, after all. One must first mingle a little then find your seat just before the curtain rises. That way various fashions can be compared and admired. It's terribly obvious really.

More than likely he's brought someone he knows to the show with him. If not then feel free to run into him. He does love to socialize.]

[He honestly hadn't expected to be told anything now. So when he hears Ulaz speak, his eyes widen a moment before they show sympathy for his situation.

May I ask what happened?

[It was something that had started bothering him as of recently, the more people he explained the Blades to. His own reason for helping to create them was beginning to come back]

Our father was a soldier in Zarkon's army. A rather fanatic one I'm afraid. Being smarter than the average Galra got me out of having serve in a combat position since they needed those adapt at sciences, but disappointed him.

My younger brother, who I didn't think was all that stupid, jumped at the chance to join when he had the chance. I don't know if it was his idea or if it was because of our father's reaction to me.

He was killed in an assignment that was basically a suicide mission not long after he joined up. They weren't even going to tell us anything had happened to him. Kolivan, who defected and started the Blades with me, told us.

So you never would have known if Kolivan hadn't told you. You would have just gone on believing your brother was out there still fighting.

[That's... The cruelty of it gets to him. Especially when he thinks about his own siblings. If someone were to hide their deaths from him.

He knows he will outlive them all. It's part of his life as a werewolf. They will age and eventually die. He will go on for who knows how long. The thought of anyone hiding their deaths from him wounds him.]

I'm so sorry.

That is correct. The Empire became an entity in of itself, one that could not be flawed in any way. Failed missions were something to grumble about internally, never something to admit to the outside world.

His death wasn't without meaning at least. It has been a catalyst for my own life. I don't know if he'd want it meant that way, but it has been.

I only wish that something so tragic hadn't been needed. You are a good person, Ulaz. You deserve happiness.

Thank you. You are one of the few people who has ever told me that.

After all, what are friends for?

[Also a phrase Ulaz hadn't heard much of in his life time. He had started to hear more of it because of Shiro and the paladins, but for some reason it still sounded strange to his ears, that someone was his friend]

Yes. That is what friends do for each other. We can always be there for each other.

You know, that is really what a werewolf pack is. A large unit of people who will always be there for each other. It is true they are bound together by a tether but it is something that helps to keep them strong.

[Biffy laughs softly, looking down.]

I've found I have started adopted some of my friends here as something of an adopted pack. I suppose I have just become so accustomed to having that in my life that it seems strange to be without it.

I used to have a large group with mine. When I went undercover, I had to give that up for obvious reasons. I find that I am enjoying being part of a group again, even without the purpose that I had back home.

[Ulaz will be part of your pack, Biffy. He already considers the Blameless and the Caprine crews as ones he needed to protect, so - whether he needed it in reality or not - Biffy was under that]

It feels good to have a group like that whether there is reason to it or not, doesn't it. It makes you feel more at ease.

It does. I spent far too long being suspicious because there was no one who I could turn to on the ship. Now, I have people who will look out for me, and I for them.

There was a time after I first changed where I felt alone like that. It's a rather miserable feeling if you think about it. It's perhaps selfish to want companionship so badly but I'm grateful to have it.

It seems to be nature to want to be around others. It is... hard on your nerves to be separate from others. I had another contact in the Galra's fleet, but it was only with information because we couldn't risk the channel too often.

Of course. That would have put you at too great a risk of exposure. It is why matters of espionage can be so difficult. One of many honestly.

Of course. Not everyone is capable of handling that stress. We would sometimes be able to talk, but we had to be careful about it. [It definitely created moments of rampant paranoia, he would attest to that]

And in those moments you would always have to wonder who or what might be listening in. There's no real comfort in those moments.

No, there is not. I usually wondered who might be listening most of them, especially being around the witch and her druids. The only small blessing is that they weren't mind readers.

[Could think anything as long as it wasn't said out loud or in actions]

That is a relief. I'm not sure what you would do if it turned out you couldn't even be free to your own thoughts.

I am certain I would have been found out not long after being selected to help the witch with her experiments if they had been able to. It is really the one outlet you have when you don't have any other.

Her abilities seem rather terrifyingly powerful.

They are unfortunately. Both she and her druids have abilities most of us couldn't dream of until we saw them. With our truce though, she hopefully won't act on anything. Otherwise there are five of us here.

[As Alpha he knows he can volunteer Lyall's services in this. Though he has a feeling Lyall won't mind.]
