[The first thing to hit you when opening this video feed is the absolute wall of noise coming from it. There's a howling of wind and something more guttural that just rattles the eardrums. And yet Thor is still choosing to make a broadcast in the middle of this, evidenced by the way his hair and cape are whipping around in the video. He holds the communicator in one hand, shouldering an oversized axe with the other.]

Well, I've found the monster! [Oh, that's what that noise is.] It hasn't struck land yet but it's nearly here. The beast means to make a meal of this place, and I don't intend to let it. Any who wish to join me ought to head for Zifra island - it's about ten miles north of Veynar. It's not inhabited at least.

[Another huge roar shakes the feed, Thor glancing over his shoulder at the encroaching dark clouds.]

Oh, it's keen. [A laugh follows.] But it'll find this meal hard to swallow.

[With that the video flips wildly as Thor tosses the communicator aside. It rolls to a stop on the grass, tilted image showing Thor running off towards the storm before he jumps, flying off the ground entirely with axe held aloft. The feed clicks off.]

[Anyone who heads to Zifra will indeed find the mist monster there, taller than the hilly peaks and arms wide enough to catch it in a terrible embrace. Only it hasn't gotten that far yet. Instead it's trying to swipe at Thor, who keeps hurtling around it at high speed and slamming lightning bolts into its claws when they get too close to the island.

A monster this size will need attacking from multiple angles. Time to throw your hat in the ring?]

[It's not even the same hammer, Stop Projecting.

The battle continues for a good while, the weather getting stormier as Thor presses the advantage that light gives him. Yet ultimately he can't get around the beast's main advantage: it can dive back into the mists below and disappear. Thor's not about to follow it down there, not when he knows full well what the mists above land level can do. To go into the depths would be a risk not worth taking without preparation.

The skies have cleared and the winds died away by the time Thor lands back near Loki's position, dirt-streaked and annoyed. Other than some bleeding from a gash under his hairline he's fine.]

It's gone.

[ Projecting is literally what he does all the time, be realistic Thor. He sips his tea primly. ]

Congratulations. Even if they lost a few mountains in the process.

[Thor shoves the hammer-head into the ground before sitting on a nearby rock, heaving a sigh.]

There has to be a way to track the damn thing.

[ Heroism. How utterly dull. ]

Has no one tried throwing a bio-tracker on it?

How should I know? [He has no idea. Thor shakes his head, resting his chin in one palm.] Besides, the beast isn't always in physical form. Anything thrown at it would fall right through.

[ Loki hums. ]

Not if it's in its bloodstream.

[Well, maybe. Thor doesn't recall seeing any sprays of blood from the creature when he did land hits. Everything was going by very fast, after all.]

Funnily enough, I don't carry bio-trackers in my pocket.

That's what you get for thinking with your hammer.

I didn't see you throwing trackers on it.

I'm not the one who wanted to fight a gigantic beast. That's your job, is it not?

Yet you still came out here to spectate.

[Which isn't really that surprising, all things considered. Loki's watched Thor get the tar kicked out of him a number of times. Huffing, Thor turns his gaze towards the grassy plains and the abrupt cut-off where the island ends.]

I have to wonder what lies below the mists. Whether this planet has a true surface or not.

[ Loki merely toasts his cup. Fighting giant beasts isn't his calling, no matter what strides he's made. ]

It seems likely. I doubt we are on floating islands. Every place needs a foundation of sorts.

I think the floating part is possible enough, but land like this must come from somewhere. Even if it was thrown up from the depths long ago.

[ His eyes narrow. ]

I hope you're not considering going down there.

Not without cause.

[So ... maybe. Thor fiddles with the mask he still has strapped to his belt.]

I've heard that the masks do no good down there.

[ Loki heard that "maybe". His expression still remains sharp. ]

Hardly surprising, since they barely do much here.

So you had best not go down there.

[Thor is unmoved by any sharp gazes thrown his way.]

I just said I won't go without a good reason. I'm not an idiot.

You just flew headlong into a mist monster.

That was a fine reason.

[ There's no talking to heroes. Loki pinches his brow. ]

You'd think with all these fine minds on the Fleet, one of you could come up with a plan if you're all so determined to protect people.

I could see if anyone can make a bio-tracker like you suggested. Getting it to stick might be a problem, but there's only one way to find out.

[By making it and hammering it into the creature. Thor's ready to give that a shot, if it's viable.]

Whatever power it possesses, its bloodstream would be unaffected. Just make a wound and stick the tracker on it. That should work.

Sure. It'll be easy.

[That's not sarcasm, he genuinely thinks that. Having gone toe-to-toe with the monster already Thor figures that's a simple enough strategy to carry out.]

Maybe Banner can make something like that.

He'd like that.

[ Any reason to be useful without using the Hulk. ]

I'll ask him.

[Seems like a good idea, why let it go to waste.]
