[The first thing to hit you when opening this video feed is the absolute wall of noise coming from it. There's a howling of wind and something more guttural that just rattles the eardrums. And yet Thor is still choosing to make a broadcast in the middle of this, evidenced by the way his hair and cape are whipping around in the video. He holds the communicator in one hand, shouldering an oversized axe with the other.]

Well, I've found the monster! [Oh, that's what that noise is.] It hasn't struck land yet but it's nearly here. The beast means to make a meal of this place, and I don't intend to let it. Any who wish to join me ought to head for Zifra island - it's about ten miles north of Veynar. It's not inhabited at least.

[Another huge roar shakes the feed, Thor glancing over his shoulder at the encroaching dark clouds.]

Oh, it's keen. [A laugh follows.] But it'll find this meal hard to swallow.

[With that the video flips wildly as Thor tosses the communicator aside. It rolls to a stop on the grass, tilted image showing Thor running off towards the storm before he jumps, flying off the ground entirely with axe held aloft. The feed clicks off.]

[Anyone who heads to Zifra will indeed find the mist monster there, taller than the hilly peaks and arms wide enough to catch it in a terrible embrace. Only it hasn't gotten that far yet. Instead it's trying to swipe at Thor, who keeps hurtling around it at high speed and slamming lightning bolts into its claws when they get too close to the island.

A monster this size will need attacking from multiple angles. Time to throw your hat in the ring?]

[ Loki is a reasonable distance away, with a blanket on the ground, and tea. Oh, and his device to record it and laugh every time Thor gets smashed into a mountain. It never gets old. If anyone approaches him, Loki will say. ]

Who do you want to bet on, the monster or Thor?

[Reasonable distance or not, the monster has a pretty hefty fist on it. Which means that one of those blows does eventually send Thor crashing into the ground nearby, a hail of dirt and stones raining down on Loki's picnic. Sorry buddy.

Thor sits up from the deep furrow the impact made in the ground, muttering a curse.]

Stupid thing.

[ Loki scowls, brushing away the debris from his blanket, ugh dirt. ]

That's what you get for showing off your new hammer.

[rather than distract him too much, she merely sends him a text message while on her way to the island: On my way! (ง'̀-'́)ง

[so, with sword and summoning charms in hand, Baku makes her way over to Zifra and up one of the peaks. The only problem is, she has no way to get to the monster at the moment, at least not until it gets a little closer or a better (or dumb) idea crops up to get her there]

I hope it doesn't eat him before more people get here, that'd be disappointing.

[As much as Thor tries to keep to the air, there are times when the monster does land hits on him, sending him crashing back to earth. Or to mountain, to be more specific. There's a whistling noise followed by a terrific shattering of rock as Thor's hurled into the peak only a few dozen metres from where Baku is. Something like that might be the end of a regular person... but judging by the way he emerges from the hole shaking off bits of rock and scowling at the beast, it only serves to tick Thor off.]

Not even a torn fingernail yet.

[Baku doesn't even bat an eyelash as Thor crashes nearby, though she does brush off some flying dirt once the dust settles. She offers him a faint smile in greeting, which twitches into a smirk at his response]

That's good. I'd hate to have to tease you about torn fingernails so soon.

[Looks like this time, Natasha missed all the fun. "Fun." All things considered, she'd have helped if she were closer, but monsters that size feel a little out of Natasha's pay grade. She's a spy. Not a god.

That doesn't mean she's not concerned about how the god came through.]

That looks like a big one. Taken care of?

[It takes Thor a while to call back, what with fighting a monster and then having thrown his communicator away like a moron. He definitely won't admit to having to scrounge around in the grass to find it again. But he does find it.

When he replies he's worse for wear, dirt-streaked and bleeding from a cut somewhere in his hairline. Other than being filthy he doesn't seem too banged up however.]

For the moment. The bastard dived back down into the mist... it's gone elsewhere, I'd say.

Must have been tough to get away. [Which isn't really a surprise. She saw it in his earlier video.] How about you? Status?

[Oh god, oh god, oh god. He almost doesn't respond, except he kind of has to. It starts with a video.]

Do. Do you want help?

[He really does want to help despite his fear of what that means.

After about five minutes, Bruce realizes he's probably not getting a response.

Okay. Okay, not big deal. It's Thor. Thor is a god who can generate lightning and has battled with monsters and aliens and all kinds of who knows what. He's perfectly capable of handling himself.

And yet Bruce somehow ends up on Zifra, after some trial and error finding the battle underway.]

O-oh. Thor!

[Maybe he'll get lucky and be heard.]

[Maybe, but that would be some luck indeed. The absolute barrage of noise out here is far greater than what the communicator could get across, thanks to both the monster's roaring and the incessant thunder that follows in Thor's wake as he makes his strikes. It doesn't seem likely that Thor's going to hear one shout amongst all that.

But luck can fall in other ways. So can gods. Not for the first time, the monster lashes out in Thor's direction with a hand and connects. The hit sends Thor flying, hurtling back towards the island and-- yeah, he's about to crash into the ground only a few metres from where Bruce is.

Heads up.]

[ Bruce is frozen at first, shocked by the sheer size and might of the battle between god and monster. He keeps thinking that he shouldn't even be there, exposed to the mists, but he's been trying to use a face mask to avoid the heavier clouds and push through, because Thor might actually need help.

Which, when the god comes sailing straight at him, reinforces that thought. Bruce stumbles back, trying to get clear of the falling god, but the rippling impact throws pieces of the island up into the air and toward him in a shower of rocky debris. A hard chunk smacks right into him, which really should crush him instantly, but what it does is give him about a second of absolute terror before the rage sets in. The mask is completely shredded as it gives way, and Bruce is replaced by a much larger figure that storms up to Thor's spot, roaring and grabbing a nearby stone to hurl at the black creature the god had been fighting. Which doesn't really excuse Thor either. The Hulk slams a fist down next to the god, yelling at him: ]

NO THROW ROCKS. HULK CRUSH ROCKS! AND MONSTER.

[Kitty was busy training during the original broadcast so it takes awhile before she responds at all.]

Nice axe. [And you thought she only ever checked out those guns of his.]

Status? [She's not so sure about this monster hunting in general. Sure, eating islands sounds bad, but uninhabited ones? People gotta eat. Did they really know enough about it to know attacking it is the right idea? If lives were at stake she wouldn't hesitate, but for right now the only lives she knows might be at stake are the monster's, Thor's and whoever joined him.]

[At least by the time Kitty calls, Thor's found his communicator after lobbing it into the grass. He needs to not be that impulsive when things get exciting.

The video call connects and there Thor is, a lot filthier than before and bleeding a bit from a gash somewhere under his hairline. There's a certain air of frustration about him. But, not dead, so that's good.

He does lighten up a bit at the comment on his axe.]

It really is. I found it in one of the ruins, strangely enough. I don't know how it came to be here.

[Still, there's business to discuss.]

We're all fine, but the beast escaped back into the mist.

[Thor's a friend, and crew. She's not about to let him take on that thing alone. Besides, she's been itching for a good fight, and this beastie clearly presents one.

Riona throws on what armor she has left, grabs her sword and shield, and makes for the island. She brings her gas mask with her, just in case. When she arrives, twenty minutes later, she finds Thor doing battle with it, slinging himself through the skies as the beast swipes at him. Riona jerks on the shuttle controls and dives, bringing the shuttle in close. She zips by the creature, hoping to distract it and give Thor an opening to attack.]

[It's a job and a half keeping out of the monster's reach, the thing moves much faster than Thor expected. He has a rhythm going now, summoning lightning bolts down at the beast's head as it tries to clamp onto the island, before flying off to the side as it roars its displeasure and comes after him again.

When Riona's shuttle passes, the beast wavers until it decides to follow this new target. It turns its swirling red eyes towards her and brings one of its huge arms up again.

Thor spins around, spotting the shuttle making an insane dive as the creature follows. In a split second he makes his decision. Electricity arcs all around his body as he calls up a greater blast of power, lightning streaking out and hitting the monster in the side of the head just as it turns corporeal.

The howl it makes rattles the very air, and most likely the shuttle.]

[That broadcast.... "Found" the monster? Did he go looking for it on purpose? Geez. Well, it doesn't matter anymore. A monster in the mist he would leave alone, but one that eats islands? That needs to fought, Shiro will defend these people. So he leaves his job as soon as he sees Thor's video.

A good thing he's been going around the planet with his armor on, it means he has the jet-packs ready to go and join others in the sky, his arm glowing purple and ready to strike.]

We need to coordinate our attacks! It's big and strong but also slow, we should all attack from different angles.

[No worries, Shiro. Keith knew exactly how to read and work with what you were saying. Since they weren't too deep into the mist, he wasn't too worried, yet, about seeing weird things and starting to freak out like he had the last two times. Still, he couldn't help but feel a little nervous jumping in there.

He was using his Paladin armor for the jetpacks as well after hearing the call go out, and he ran to the edge, BoM blade activated in his left hand and the Black Bayard activated in his right, and jumped. He went feet first to maximize the effect of the jetpacks being able to slow his descent into a controlled fall.]

[It's more that the monster found him, but not for lack of Thor hunting it on his own. He was curious and it's in his nature to hunt down beasts of legend. It's an Asgardian thing.

Despite the breakneck pace Thor is setting in his assault on the monster, he's paying enough attention to his surroundings to see Shiro's arrival on the battlefield. Chucking another lightning blast at the beast to make it shy away, he angles the hammer back towards Shiro's location and comes hurtling in. He slows a bit when he gets close enough but it's apparent that Thor doesn't really stop when flying this way.]

It shies from the light, so I can herd it towards your position.

[ Because he's excited, and there was no way he was going to get to that island in time, so he's also jealous. Also, who the hell is this guy and why hasn't he met him yet? ]

What the hell was that thing? Are there more of them?

[It takes Thor a while to answer this call. It's what happens when you fight beasts and throw your communicator away in a fit of adrenaline. When he replies he sounds wearier than his initial broadcast though not too much worse for wear.]

Some creature made of these mists, as near as I can tell. I believe this is the only one though I can't be certain. Not when the damn thing can blend back into the fog it came from.

[Keith didn't bother answering. He'd dealt with enough problems from the mist and that creature haunting his dreams for days in the hospital that he wanted this over with. So, off he went, using the jetpacks on his Paladin armor to boost himself around in the air, using both his blades to catch himself and attack. Keith didn't do small talk when he fought, but if someone came close enough, he'd work with them easily enough.]

[It's hectic out here. Thor's feeling it, even though he manages to evade the monster's strikes most of the time. It doesn't escape his notice that others have joined the fray, even others with some flight capability.

Thor's gone wide when Keith goes in for a strike. Catching sight of the younger man, he summons up a burst of lightning to the monster's left, blinding the thing from noticing Keith's approach as it flinches away from the brightness.]
