[The first thing to hit you when opening this video feed is the absolute wall of noise coming from it. There's a howling of wind and something more guttural that just rattles the eardrums. And yet Thor is still choosing to make a broadcast in the middle of this, evidenced by the way his hair and cape are whipping around in the video. He holds the communicator in one hand, shouldering an oversized axe with the other.]

Well, I've found the monster! [Oh, that's what that noise is.] It hasn't struck land yet but it's nearly here. The beast means to make a meal of this place, and I don't intend to let it. Any who wish to join me ought to head for Zifra island - it's about ten miles north of Veynar. It's not inhabited at least.

[Another huge roar shakes the feed, Thor glancing over his shoulder at the encroaching dark clouds.]

Oh, it's keen. [A laugh follows.] But it'll find this meal hard to swallow.

[With that the video flips wildly as Thor tosses the communicator aside. It rolls to a stop on the grass, tilted image showing Thor running off towards the storm before he jumps, flying off the ground entirely with axe held aloft. The feed clicks off.]

[Anyone who heads to Zifra will indeed find the mist monster there, taller than the hilly peaks and arms wide enough to catch it in a terrible embrace. Only it hasn't gotten that far yet. Instead it's trying to swipe at Thor, who keeps hurtling around it at high speed and slamming lightning bolts into its claws when they get too close to the island.

A monster this size will need attacking from multiple angles. Time to throw your hat in the ring?]

[Shiro loves his team, and they've come a long way in working together. But there's one thing that will never change, and that's him and Keith no needing even words to do this. They understand each other with just a look, and their fighting styles are used to each other, knowing where one may need him at any time.

Shiro jumps at the same time as Keith, his arm glowing and ready to use the light trick to his advantage. It's not a great punch, but that's on purpose, he isn't going for damage, he just wants the monster's attention. And he gets it. His metal hand touches the beast and it roars, hurt by not the strength but the light, and turns to chase after Shiro, who is already moving out of the way. Go for it, Keith!]

[tempredmental]

[Keith spotted Shiro's signal and made his move. He cut power to the jetpacks and dropped, bringing his blade down heavily on to the creature as he landed. He heard a woosh behind him, as a tentacle came in to swat him away, and Keith rolled, yanking his blade free to avoid a retaliatory hit.

The jetpacks weren't perfect while in gravity and didn't offer as much maneuverability as they did in space, but they were good for this, at least, and Keith was able to use his to boost himself away in time.]

Keith!

[He can't jump right into going to his friend like he wants to, Shiro has his own dodging to do. Which means he's moving faster than Keith, so the monster turns its attention to the smaller paladin as he seems to be easier option to chase.

Shiro uses this chance to hide behind it as it walks, moving out to the side when he gets near enough to catch Keith by his shoulders and give him the last boost he needs.]

Are you okay, buddy?

[tempredmental]

[Keith let out a slightly strangled noise of surprise as he was suddenly manhandled away.

Gee, Shiro! He had it!

He took a deep breath to mentally break himself out of the fight for a moment, and nodded.]

Yeah... I'm fine.

[They landed some distance off, out of reach of those long tentacles, and Keith kept his eyes on the creature, watching its movements.]

Thanks, though.

[He knew Shiro meant well, even if he knew he was able to get out of the way on his own.]

[Nobody had anything, they must be careful with their movements and the jetpacks aren't magical! Re-planning is in order. Shiro nods but still takes a look at Keith to check there truly aren't any wounds - and it is true, so they can go back to fighting the monster now.]

No problem, buddy. We'll need a better idea to approach the creature. Even if we manage to hit it, the tentacles easily hit us back. We must combine a hit and dodge move.

[tempredmental]

[Keith nodded.]

Yeah.

[He frowned.]

Neither one of us has a long range weapon, though. No matter what, we're going to have to get in close.

[He watched the movements, trying to find a pattern, but the creature was large and fighting several enemies at once. A pattern wasn't going to be easy because it was reacting to the attacks, which left it moving erratically and almost random.]

There has to be a blind spot we can use while it focuses on and moves away from a light source.

A long range weapon...

[Keith is right, this would be much easier if they could attack from afar. But they can't exactly go shopping for guns now, can they? ...unless...]

How about using the fleet's weaponry? There are enough people keeping the monster busy for us to approach with an aerial attack.

[tempredmental]

Maybe... can we get the ships in close enough?

[Keith didn't see why not if someone was a skilled pilot.]

Might be worth a shot. We just have to be sure not to hit anyone else, too.

[padadin]

The lasers should reach the monster from a good distance, hopefully enough range to stay out of its tentacles' way. [So they don't need to get that close, although Shiro thinks they could handle it if they do.] I believe the monster is big enough to find parts that aren't being targeted by others, making it easier to avoid them, but it can't hurt send a general message about it.

[Besides... everyone would see the ships approaching, right?]

[tempredmental]

Yeah... hopefully, they'll all hear it.

Come on... we need to get back to the ships if we're going to do this in time.

[Keith turned, ready to head off and actually do the thing.]
