[The first thing to hit you when opening this video feed is the absolute wall of noise coming from it. There's a howling of wind and something more guttural that just rattles the eardrums. And yet Thor is still choosing to make a broadcast in the middle of this, evidenced by the way his hair and cape are whipping around in the video. He holds the communicator in one hand, shouldering an oversized axe with the other.]

Well, I've found the monster! [Oh, that's what that noise is.] It hasn't struck land yet but it's nearly here. The beast means to make a meal of this place, and I don't intend to let it. Any who wish to join me ought to head for Zifra island - it's about ten miles north of Veynar. It's not inhabited at least.

[Another huge roar shakes the feed, Thor glancing over his shoulder at the encroaching dark clouds.]

Oh, it's keen. [A laugh follows.] But it'll find this meal hard to swallow.

[With that the video flips wildly as Thor tosses the communicator aside. It rolls to a stop on the grass, tilted image showing Thor running off towards the storm before he jumps, flying off the ground entirely with axe held aloft. The feed clicks off.]

[Anyone who heads to Zifra will indeed find the mist monster there, taller than the hilly peaks and arms wide enough to catch it in a terrible embrace. Only it hasn't gotten that far yet. Instead it's trying to swipe at Thor, who keeps hurtling around it at high speed and slamming lightning bolts into its claws when they get too close to the island.

A monster this size will need attacking from multiple angles. Time to throw your hat in the ring?]

[It's hectic out here. Thor's feeling it, even though he manages to evade the monster's strikes most of the time. It doesn't escape his notice that others have joined the fray, even others with some flight capability.

Thor's gone wide when Keith goes in for a strike. Catching sight of the younger man, he summons up a burst of lightning to the monster's left, blinding the thing from noticing Keith's approach as it flinches away from the brightness.]

Hit it now!

[Keith didn't need to be told twice. He jumped into that new blindspot, letting the bayard disappear into his armor's particle storage so he could hold his other blade in both hands above his head. He brought it down as he dropped to the monster's back, embedding it deeply for a few seconds before yanking it back out and using the jetpacks to jump clear.

One of the tentacles flew back, attempting to swat at Keith like an errant mosquito having just bitten him.]

[Thor's ready for the slapback. While Keith was stabbing deeply into the monster's skin Thor had swung around and come hurtling back in. Upon seeing the tentacle lashing out, he grimaces. It's a lot thinner than the beast's arms so maybe he can sever this.

Right when the tentacle is about to smack into Keith, Thor flies in and swings his axe, slashing deep into the tentacle. That certainly ticked the monster off. The tentacle flicks away as the monster bellows, the top part of it not quite severed but hanging loosely off the rest of it. Another solid hit should take it off.]

[Keith heard the woosh of wind that indicated incoming something and shifted, yanking his blade free in order to somersault clear of being hit by something, whether a direct retaliation or the offshoot of something else. He stood quickly, still on the creature's back and saw the hit almost fully sever the tentacle in question. Without hesitation, he engaged the jetpacks on the back of his armor and launched himself at it, twisting in a slight spin to bring his blade up and through the remaining segment. The end of the tentacle fell free, and the creature rumbled in response, flailing the injured limb away.]

[Thor laughs out loud when the tentacle falls away, pleased to see the beast taking actual damage.]

Well, he won't like that!

[It surely doesn't. When its red eyes fix on Thor he twists around and speeds upwards, lightning starting to surge and crackle around him. He calls down to Keith as the clouds above begin to rumble.]

You'd best get clear!

[tempredmental]

[Thor didn't have to tell Keith twice, that was for sure. He caught on pretty quick.]

Right!

[He ran a few steps for momentum before jumping and engaging the jetpack on his suit to give him an extra boost back towards the floating island they were defending so he could get enough distance between himself and the creature Thor was about to shock into oblivion...

Well, hopefully...]

[Thor knows better than to start electrifying everything while mortals are still in the area. The very second Keith is out of range though? The whole sky seems to erupt with lightning as Thor sends it slamming down into the monster.

Between the roar of the beast and the booming of the thunder, it's an absolute storm of noise out here.]

Woah...

[Keith turned to look as he heard the sound of the crackling, and found himself really impressed with the hit.]

Nice one!

[He landed back on the edge of the island closest to the fight and watched for a bit before figuring out where to go next for another hit. He looked for an opening in the swinging tentacles, and dropped in for another strike as soon as he could.]
