video + action.
Who: Thor, a mist beast, and you
Broadcast: video, fleetwide
Action:yes, too much action the island of Zifra
When: now
video.
[The first thing to hit you when opening this video feed is the absolute wall of noise coming from it. There's a howling of wind and something more guttural that just rattles the eardrums. And yet Thor is still choosing to make a broadcast in the middle of this, evidenced by the way his hair and cape are whipping around in the video. He holds the communicator in one hand, shouldering an oversized axe with the other.]
Well, I've found the monster! [Oh, that's what that noise is.] It hasn't struck land yet but it's nearly here. The beast means to make a meal of this place, and I don't intend to let it. Any who wish to join me ought to head for Zifra island - it's about ten miles north of Veynar. It's not inhabited at least.
[Another huge roar shakes the feed, Thor glancing over his shoulder at the encroaching dark clouds.]
Oh, it's keen. [A laugh follows.] But it'll find this meal hard to swallow.
[With that the video flips wildly as Thor tosses the communicator aside. It rolls to a stop on the grass, tilted image showing Thor running off towards the storm before he jumps, flying off the ground entirely with axe held aloft. The feed clicks off.]
action.
[Anyone who heads to Zifra will indeed find the mist monster there, taller than the hilly peaks and arms wide enough to catch it in a terrible embrace. Only it hasn't gotten that far yet. Instead it's trying to swipe at Thor, who keeps hurtling around it at high speed and slamming lightning bolts into its claws when they get too close to the island.
A monster this size will need attacking from multiple angles. Time to throw your hat in the ring?]
((OOC: Please note that if you respond to the broadcast part of the post, Thor will ICly answer an hour later after the fight is done. Feel free to jump each other in this post as well for attacking the monster!))

[Thor's fully capable of throwing a ranged attack in that the monster won't ignore. He gives Riona a firm nod before pointing his hammer up towards the sky-- and then he's off like a shot.]

It swings a long, powerful arm at her. She begins to see it materialize. It'll hit her, but she's ready. More importantly:]
THOR! NOW!

Lightning surges around him and snaps out in a terrific burst, raining down on the monster's back. It doesn't stop its arm moving but it does make it shudder on its path, a hideous bellow ripping out of its lungs. Good, it felt that. Rather than lose momentum Thor hurls his hammer towards the beast's back as well. He starts to drop through the air without it yet there's time enough to call it back before he's in trouble. The weapon spins rapidly down and slams into what passes for flesh.]

Riona's hair stands on end as lightning crackles in the air; she's wondering for a moment if she's going to be turned into a lightning rod with all the metal she has on her. But she trusts (and hopes) that Thor can control this lightning well enough that she won't have to worry.
After the second blow, the monster turns incorporeal. It moves, rather swiftly for its size, and moves to intercept Thor while he falls. Given his speed and strength, it recognizes him as the greater threat, and wants to eliminate him as soon as possible. It lashes out, quickly turning solid again to attempt to smack Thor into the ground before his hammer returns.
Riona releases her aura as soon as she realizes what's happening, and hauls ass over towards the monster. When it solidifies, she thrusts her sword into its leg and digs in. Given the size disparity, it's not enough to cripple the creature, but enough to at least make it falter a moment.]

Thor could guess that the beast was going to turn on him as soon as his blows fell. After all, the thing had already smacked him around several times. As he plummets he throws his hand out to call the hammer. Both the weapon and the monster's hand are moving at incredible speeds - it's apparent that they might both reach Thor at the same time. Mentally he braces himself for the blow just in case.
When Riona's strike hits the beast it cries out again, arm stuttering briefly. It's enough time for Thor's hammer to smack back into his hand before the blow lands. And land it does, a tremendous palm whacking into him and driving the breath from his lungs. Norns, it does have a nasty punch to it.
But now he has the hammer - more specifically, he has the axe-edge of it. In the couple of seconds it takes the beast to slap its hand into the ground with Thor underneath it, he's flipped the blade up and positioned it just right to force the beast to drive the blade right into its own hand when it impacts the island.
Sure, Thor's smashed into the ground too, but the screech of the monster's pain totally makes it worth it.]

Reactivating her Defender aura, she goes for the monster's other leg and stabs it. The move certainly gets its attention, and it focuses on her. But whereas she hoped it'd try and stomp on her like Thor, the beast instead decides to go for another approach: a swift kick. Riona barely has time to get her shield in front of her and brace herself for the impact, which knocks the wind right out of her as she goes flying. She feels like she's in the air for hours, but it's only moments later before she crashes into the ground. Ow. Well, hopefully she bought Thor some time...]

He staggers to his feet and notices Riona going in for the creature's other leg. With a shout of fury once he sees her go flying, Thor rushes over as the thing tries to stomp its way over to finish her off. Instead, the monster gets a hell of a thunder-punch right in the ankle.
It's enough to make it stop again, shifting around on its feet to try and see the god tormenting it.]

As Thor tangos with the beast, she manages to get to her knees and look up. Her sword lies not terribly far from him... but it also means it's near the monster. The beast focuses more on Thor, trying to keep its feet away from his lightning pummels and trying to swat at him. Riona takes advantage of his distraction and crawls for her sword. But just as she almost gets within reach, the monster glances over and sees her. She freezes, hand outstretched towards her sword. It's not until the monster snarls and moves towards her that she moves again. It moves to kick her again, but this time she has the foresight to roll out of the way before it does. As the foot passes by her, Riona reaches for her dagger and pierces the monster's foot, digging in and hanging on for dear life as it shrieks and tries to shake her off.]
