[Nami is only briefly on the Bloodsport this morning, on a direct course between her own room and Sam's, hauling most of his leftover belongings into Captain's quarters.  Then she's in the cargo bay, hugging Biri.  No, stupid bird, you can't come with her.  This mist is not for you.

Then she's checking into a hotel planetside and doing her level best to get drunk, before giving thought to some reckless treasure hunting, because why not?

There is no announcement that Sam is no longer here.  She figures it's probably obvious.]

Masks more solid than some of our usual fare. Protection from the mist, mostly, though I can give us breathing room if it becomes necessary...

[She pauses.] Does your bending work on the mists? [Mists are meant to be water-based, aren't they? Though these ones don't feel right, so maybe not.]

[ She nods. ] It does, but... these mists aren't normal water. There's something in them that's causing the hallucinations in the first place, and they don't... feel right? They're the same amount of strength to gather, but they're harder to hold. So I still use the masks.

I thought that might be the case. [She smiles ruefully.] It doesn't feel right. Far heavier. I can blow it away with wind either way, though. It comes back, but it buys space.

Yeah... I've never run into a problem with anything water-based like this before. So let's just... get masks. [ Look, if they can avoid horrible hallucinations about their worst fears... it's worth spending the money. ] What kind of treasure do you think the map points toward?

With our track record? I'm pretty sure it's going to be something I already own that isn't already here.

[She's wry about it, but at the same time... Sam leaving has made her homesick so much. Maybe she'll be lucky and it'll be a picture.

...though she'll totally take a chest full of rubies or some such as consolation.]

[ Okay. Now she's kind of motivated for treasure as well as just determined to keep Nami company. ]

Cool, if meant to be logistically impossible. Makes you wonder just how they do it, if the Atroma are a Fleet "just visiting" these areas.

The place I was at before this was much the same, though then it was "all powerful spirits". Makes you wonder just how much all these supposed Powers That Be have in common.
