Who: The Vision
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: The Caprine
When: At the Shuffle, evening of the 20th
[He doesn't appear immediately on the Caprine, of course. First he's rudely deposited onto the hospitality deck of the Marsiva, but although he grasps the reality of the situation quickly enough it takes some time to process it all - the uncovered memories of his time here, the juxtaposition of his new situation with the events at home, and then a crushing disappointment as he scans over his newly-acquired communicator and realizes he can't put in a transfer to the Windrose, because his ship doesn't seem to exist anymore.
So that's how it's going to be.
He figures it won't be long before he's assigned to a new ship, and sure enough he's popped over to the Caprine in all his maroon-skinned android glory. He shakes the confetti off and pulls up a video broadcast.]
Good evening, members of the Fleet. I am the Vision, recently of twenty-first century Earth and one of the Avengers, if that means anything to anyone. [Yes, he's still technically an Avenger, even if he's been a bit AWOL lately.] If there's anyone here who knows me, I'd like very much to know that you're here, and please don't hesitate to ask me if you'd like anything from me. I seem to be on the Caprine this time around.
[And then he looks a little wistful.
Does anyone know how long it's been since I was here last? It's been two years for me subjectively, but I'm aware that often has little to do with time passing in the Fleet. I was on the Windrose. [Captain of it, in fact.]
Thank you.

Do you mean like a romantic escapade or was there something to run from?
no subject
[Definitely not a romantic escapade. How to sum up the situation without going into boring detail?]
Techinically I should have been reporting her for failing to adhere to oversight and thus becoming an international fugitive.

[He glances away, shoulders slumping a little.]
But the restrictions they place on her are exceedingly harsh. It's not right to keep her a virtual prisoner and allow me freedom, simply because I have better control over my destructive ability.
no subject
I guess it didn't.
[And however he felt in the beginning it doesn't sound like he's wholly behind it now, wanting to run away and all.] Did something get destroyed accidentally? [By Wanda.]
no subject
[So yeah, he doesn't agree with the spirit of the law at all.]
No, it did not. [And he picks up on her implication fast enough.] In attempting to remove a bomb from a crowded marketplace, Wanda accidentally deflected it into a delegate of Wakandan scientists.
no subject
She listens as he talks about Wanda.]
You can't save everyone. [She wouldn't blame Wanda for something like that.]
no subject
Though at her next comment, he sighs.]
That does not stop me from wanting to, Kitty. And I know Wanda feels the same way.
no subject
[She just looks at him.] Who do you think you're talking to? I know that. [Like she doesn't walk around with years of guilt of the people she didn't save or know that Vision and Wanda are good, caring people.] It's just good to remember we set unattainable goals for ourselves.
no subject
Of course. My apologies. But I do think that's part of why it's easy to be your friend, despite what you would call radically different backgrounds.
[And then he suddenly smiles.] Though I hope my latest addition to my powers won't accidentally upset you.
no subject
You have a new power? How could that possibly upset me? It's not like you walk through walls, right?
no subject
Er. Well, this is more of a development of something else I could already do. You recall I could manipulate my clothing at will?
[All those terrible dad sweaters? He concentrates for a moment, first growing normal human clothing for himself, and then shifting his skin tone and a few other features until an attractive but slightly goofy-expressioned apparent-human is standing in the hallway.]
It would have been terribly difficult to sneak off with Wanda under my normal appearance, you understand.
[And then he quickly shifts back, because he really is more comfortable in his own skin.]

I remember. [She did her best not to mock any of his choices. She remembers having certain tastes* her teammates didn't always appreciate. It takes a person awhile to find their sense of style and they can still evolve it as they go on. Vision may look (and often act) older than her but he's not in any actual passage of time kind of way.
She watches his demonstration and her eyes open wider. Of course she's seen shapeshifting a lot. A lot, a lot, a lot. Mostly from Morph but also Mystique and there were a few others in Marina and the fleet and from what he said and really what he could do before she shouldn't be surprised and yet she is. And maybe a tad disappointed? Not that he has a new power. And she's glad he was able to use it for something he cared about like seeing Wanda. But disappointed he had to hide who he was to do it. They are supposed to live in the better world, aren't they? Okay, that's maybe a lot to put on a different world and also her world is SUCH a low bar, but she still wants them to clear it with a lot of space leftover.]
Wow, look at you. [Or don't because he is already back.] Hard to improve on perfection though.
(OOC: *That's 616 Kitty and this Kitty probably didn't wear anything exactly like that, but she was more similar to her split counterpart the younger she was so something similar occurred. No professor though!)
no subject
He sincerely hopes things will change in the future and he can go on a date with the woman he loves in his own skin.]
Thank you, Kitty. I must say, I hope it's a completely useless ability to have in this place.
no subject
So, other than driving you into new powers and skins, how was the oversight?
no subject
[He shrugs.] It hasn't yet prevented us from doing our duty. Occasionally some of the council members will have some astonishingly stupid questions about me, but they tend to retreat from them if I wear my on-duty outfit or demonstrate some harmless trick in front of them. Mr. Stark has me complete much of the paperwork, as it only takes me a fraction of the time when there is an electronic version.
It's not difficult to sneak out, if necessary, because I know the security systems better than the ones who design them.
no subject
Are you sure it's harmless? [She likes sharing her power with people. It can be...intimate in a way especially now that she's less apt to use it as a test. She used to purposefully try to scare people with it. That way if they were scared it was on her terms and not just because of what she is. And if they weren't it put her at ease.]
And is that security to keep you in or other people out?
no subject
Oh, it's to keep other people out. They haven't yet determined how to hold someone who can phase through matter.
[With an energy prison, obviously, but it's not like he's going to say that out loud.]
Unlike the Atroma, I might add. I did test the shuttle hull earlier, and it's still impenetrable to me.
no subject
Almost like different writers just do whatever they want whenever it's convenient.]The Atroma are funny that way. I can go through the shuttle hulls all I want, but I don't fry any circuits like I normally would. I do on other things. Just not the ships. Not that I want to fry the ship's circuits but that isn't really a choice. [People she shouldn't phase through just to see how it goes: Vision.]
no subject
Hmm. I wonder if they intend to keep me from accessing space directly. I've no idea what it would do to me, but as I still have organic components I'm in no hurry to test it.
[Although that begs the question--]
Does it work on the communicators?
no subject
[She considers his question.] Probably. Would you like me to try to fry your communicator? [She's not trying with hers.]
no subject
Actually, it has nothing important on it at the moment. Better now than ever. [He offers it out to her.]

I have defeated it. [She says while handing it back to him.]
