Who: The Vision
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: The Caprine
When: At the Shuffle, evening of the 20th
[He doesn't appear immediately on the Caprine, of course. First he's rudely deposited onto the hospitality deck of the Marsiva, but although he grasps the reality of the situation quickly enough it takes some time to process it all - the uncovered memories of his time here, the juxtaposition of his new situation with the events at home, and then a crushing disappointment as he scans over his newly-acquired communicator and realizes he can't put in a transfer to the Windrose, because his ship doesn't seem to exist anymore.
So that's how it's going to be.
He figures it won't be long before he's assigned to a new ship, and sure enough he's popped over to the Caprine in all his maroon-skinned android glory. He shakes the confetti off and pulls up a video broadcast.]
Good evening, members of the Fleet. I am the Vision, recently of twenty-first century Earth and one of the Avengers, if that means anything to anyone. [Yes, he's still technically an Avenger, even if he's been a bit AWOL lately.] If there's anyone here who knows me, I'd like very much to know that you're here, and please don't hesitate to ask me if you'd like anything from me. I seem to be on the Caprine this time around.
[And then he looks a little wistful.
Does anyone know how long it's been since I was here last? It's been two years for me subjectively, but I'm aware that often has little to do with time passing in the Fleet. I was on the Windrose. [Captain of it, in fact.]
Thank you.

Re: [video]
The mention of Wakanda brought a mirthless huff, though his lips curl up in a smile.] Wakanda, hm? Are they as advanced in your world as they were in mine? [He'll touch the bit of the Avengers in a minute, but--well, Vision is one of the few people he worries about their feelings. Ironic, considering he's a robot, but then again neither of them are human.]
[And he nods.] The most advanced human civilization by far. Now they do have all manner of flying transport and advanced medical technology and the like. [He wants very badly to visit himself, but Politics. Gotta wait until he's invited.] Their understanding of vibranium is second to none, and I've been in contact with some of their scientists to help better understand my own structure.
Re: [video]
[He chuckles, a sound that fades slowly in favor of listening to Vision describe a Wakanda not crushed under the heel of Apocalypse. From the sound of it, they hadn't stagnated; though he'd never given much particular thought to the country specifically, Kurt finds himself now specifically sorry for the loss, instead of lumping the place in with all the other human civilizations destroyed.] Have they been of much help to you?
Well, they're understandable not eager to share their proprietary knowledge with others. As the vibranium in my systems was stolen from them, there was a brief scuffle over whether I was considered their property; fortunately, they relented once they realized I was sapient. Still, I'd relish the chance to visit and experiment in person.
[
yeah he has no idea how that's going to go down]Re: [video]
But Wanda will vouch for them, and I trust her judgment; moreover, King T'Challa himself has stated his support for my--my existence, I suppose.
[He smiles and there's a bit of bitterness to it.]
You aren't unfamiliar with the situation, are you? [Because like himself, Kurt is really visibly different than a baseline human. Kitty could pass in a crowd easily enough, but not either of them.]
Re: [video]
Even so, I wouldn't let my guard down. Kings can be overthrown. [The bitter smile is met with a matching one, even though Kurt hates seeing that expression on Vision's face. His shoulders lift in a brief shrug.] Not as familiar with it as other versions, but--ja.
Re: [video]
I don't intend to. It's--actually a bit relaxing, knowing it's only the Atroma here. ["Only". But at least they seem to treat all the contestants equally (poorly).
One of the reasons he'd felt such an immediate connection to Kurt was that they're both so visibly different from baseline humans. It still matters here, though not nearly so much.] It's been more of a concern to me recently, I'm afraid. I wish it weren't.
Re: [video]
Kurt nods at the statement, identifying with it in his own way. It was relaxing, in that having Damocles' sword hanging instead of swinging down was peaceful. Or perhaps he wasn't made for a tranquil life. Either way, Vision's comment about it being of more concern sounds like a topic not fit for an open network, and so Kurt pauses before answering to switch the feed to private. ]
What's happening, back home?
Every day I'm faced with a choice: I may keep international treaty protocols, or I may see the person I care about most. [Knowing thatthe Vision is at heart a big softie, Kurt can probably guess which one is more likely.]
I cannot do both without subterfuge. An android is easily visible in a crowd; my movements would be recorded and commented upon.
