When: At the Shuffle, evening of the 20th
[He doesn't appear immediately on the Caprine, of course. First he's rudely deposited onto the hospitality deck of the Marsiva, but although he grasps the reality of the situation quickly enough it takes some time to process it all - the uncovered memories of his time here, the juxtaposition of his new situation with the events at home, and then a crushing disappointment as he scans over his newly-acquired communicator and realizes he can't put in a transfer to the Windrose, because his ship doesn't seem to exist anymore.
So that's how it's going to be.
He figures it won't be long before he's assigned to a new ship, and sure enough he's popped over to the Caprine in all his maroon-skinned android glory. He shakes the confetti off and pulls up a video broadcast.]
Good evening, members of the Fleet. I am the Vision, recently of twenty-first century Earth and one of the Avengers, if that means anything to anyone. [Yes, he's still technically an Avenger, even if he's been a bit AWOL lately.] If there's anyone here who knows me, I'd like very much to know that you're here, and please don't hesitate to ask me if you'd like anything from me. I seem to be on the Caprine this time around.
[And then he looks a little wistful.
Does anyone know how long it's been since I was here last? It's been two years for me subjectively, but I'm aware that often has little to do with time passing in the Fleet. I was on the Windrose. [Captain of it, in fact.]

In that case all that was hurt were perhaps some senses of decency. I don't really care what anyone's parts look like, so I don't know why they should care if I see them.

[Freya pauses thoughtfully and wonders if she can explain.]
Imagine growing up, so young and impressionable, and being told that there is this perfect imagine of beauty. Generally talking about sexual things openly got you shunned or pushed away from others. It really depends on the culture.
But the idea is that it has absolutely nothing to do with you and everything to do with what another person is predisposed too. You can see a fish as a fish while another culture might see it as a holy relic and treat it accordingly. You won't be able to understand them because you don't have the base knowledge of why that culture treats a fish like a relic.
It's kind of like any good theory or anything in math and science. You have to have a series of base assumptions before you begin. Like that zero is the set point or, you know, whatever. So you won't understand unless you learn about each individual's culture's base assumptions.
Which, by the way, there are a lot of things out there that people just go 'this is fact' and you will never understand why but it does explain thing like shame and probably many other traits that you'd find odd.

I suppose it's because I don't feel the need to be a very private person in general. I don't mind telling people how I feel or why I act in a certain way, unless there's a compelling reason not to.
[And lot of humans? Don't have that sort of freedom.]
--Of course, that presumes I can correctly interpret what I'm feeling at any given time, which is not always a guarantee.

I don't think most people have a hold on what their feeling at any given time so you got more going for you than most people.
Seriously though, I think that's why we have shrinks and stuff. I'm a firm believer of -- it's okay not to know.
