[ The video starts with Loki out in a verandah, a few tables and chairs scattered around. he's standing, hiding something from view. He pulls out a lace handkerchief, dabbing at his eyes. ]

It seems that there are a few people that have departed lately. And since everyone is very fond of making cryptic sad statements on the network for attention, I thought I would do the same for the passengers that have left us in such . . . [ A pointed dab. ] . . . sorrow.

[ with that, he moves away, taking a seat, revealing a bunch of children with bats and a life sized Dr. Strange figure. They look at Loki eagerly, waiting for the signal and he nods in assent. With a wild cry, they all launch themselves at the statue, beating it up. It even makes realistic sounds of pain. With every tear and visible wound, candy falls out.

Loki conjures a mimosa, leaning back. This is the life. There would be one of Sam Winchester too if . . . Loki had any idea who that was. Alas. ]

What, really? In a lot of the fairy tales my mom used to tell, there were always princesses needing to be rescued by a prince in a castle guarded by a dragon.

[ He shakes his head. ]

Most kidnappings or dreadful occurrences were caused by giants. They had no honour, cruel by nature.

I haven't heard a lot of stories about giants. Jack and the Beanstalk, but that's about it. What am I missing out on?

[dothelokimotion]

[ The hesitation he shows is uncharacteristic of Loki. ]

Not much. I doubt the nature of the stories have changed. Just the villains in them.

Do you have a favorite one? Maybe something I haven't heard?

[dothelokimotion]

Perhaps.

You might have better luck asking Thor. He loved stories about defeating giants.

What about your favorite fairy tale, or story I guess?

[dothelokimotion]

[ Hmm. ]

Have you ever heard of the hero Yidrigar?

[postocular]

I haven't. Tell me about them?

[dothelokimotion]

Yidrigar was a loner. He had no house and no name. So he left in search of his fortune among the lesser realms. Every time he crossed over, the Norns would tell him to turn back for peace but continue for glory. For glory comes bloody.

So Yidrigar didn't listen, I'm guessing? What did he find?

[dothelokimotion]

Yidrigar traveled far and wide. Along the way he encountered a maiden, who wept for love. But he passed her by for love cannot sustain him. Then he met a king who offered him a position in the court. Again he refused for a king's word cannot overcome time.

Did he ever find anything that satisfied him?

[dothelokimotion]

You have no patience for story telling.

[ But he continues. ]

Finally he reaches the ice-wastes. Where only monsters tread. And the greatest monster was the frost giant Lleweth. His breath scoured the land. His touch withered the plants. All knew him and ran far, but not Yidrigar.

Sorry. I don't really know a lot of storytellers. I'll shut up.

[ He's going to try, anyway. Though he does listen intently to what Loki has to say about Yidrigar. The tale is familiar, but more in the journey rather than the actual story. ]

Yidrigar and Lleweth fought for many years. After a century had passed, Lleweth begged for a reprieve. Grant me rest and we can continue anew, he spoke and Yidrigar agreed. They rested under the shade of Ymir's bones, sleeping. But Lleweth was a giant and giants have no honour, no warm blood to give rise to beauty and love.

So he awoke in the dark and reached out to crush Yidrigar's bones. But it was a trap. Yidrigar had left his many swords in the snow to hide his body and they stabbed through Lleweth's giant strength. With that, Yidrigar leapt up and slew the giant.

And the land lived. Every flower, every voice sang of Yidrigar. He lived forevermore, his goal achieved.
