[A - Broadcast]

[Lance is all smiles at the camera once he opens the feed. There's something a little...different about his appearance. Namely, that he's wearing a brown cat ear headband along with a matching tail. And looks thoroughly unashamed.]

So, I know time's all messed up due to all the coming and going and differences from back home, but going by last year's... Well, I just turned 19 today. I got another sponsor gift box, and it's actually some pretty sweet stuff! You've probably already noticed the ears and the tail, which I have no idea why but I think it suits me well. Plus, I got these shindigs.

[He tilts the camera to show a sweet pair of shark plush flip flops on his feet. Next, he holds up a large blue water gun he definitely intends on surprise attacking people with.]

I'm definitely not complaining. Thanks, mysterious fans out there! I'll be putting all of this to good use. And speaking of putting things to good use... I think my favorite present might be the last one. I got a CD, and, well.

[He smirks, pressing a button as music starts blaring. Those from Earth will recognize that the song is in a foreign language, specifically Spanish. Lance just grins even wider before singing along, eventually cutting the feed halfway through.]




[B - Planetside - Action]

[Last year, he'd mostly put together his own birthday celebration with the help of the others. This time, he hadn't even mentioned the day coming up to anyone. After the mist, he hadn't been in a very self-celebratory mood. Which is why he's absolutely shocked when he's brought down planetside to what looks to be a decently fancy spa meant for groups. Being able to do this, especially surrounded by friends (family, rather, because that's what he thinks of them as), is more than a pleasant surprise.

There are plenty of things to do there. Massages, facials, jacuzzis, hot springs, a pool, and more. For the most part he lets everyone do what they want, though he does drag various people along with him to certain things. For example, no one's leaving the building without experiencing the benefits of a good face mask. Frolic around, take part in things, and enjoy your fuzzy white robes and slippers!]




[C - Broadcast + Action]

[Have another happy looking Lance. He's noticeably been improving since his mist illnesses, thanks to the support of his friends. And a few new things.]

So I heard some people have found things of theirs from back home in the mist. I went in there a few times, but I was pretty resigned that I just wasn't going to find something of mine. But then I heard a sound from behind a rock, and what do you now, I came across one of my best friends! Say hi to everyone, Kaltenecker!

[He angles the camera to show a calf-sized but adult aged beautiful cow. She moos in response, and Lance clasps his hands together.]

I don't know why she's so tiny, but it's her! She still has her bow and everything! She's gonna stay here on the Huntress where we're growing plants and veggies and stuff. So yay, fresh milk! I make a mean milkshake, so feel free to come by sometime soon for one of those.

[He kneels down, wrapping his arms around Kaltenecker and just snuggling her happily.]

She is. Me and her are pretty tight. I'm the person who takes care of her, feeds her, milks her, cleans her pen...

[That being his least favorite part of it all.]

So she definitely likes me.

Now's fine, honestly. If when we first got her says anything, she gets used to new places super quick.

[And it wasn't too long later that Ulaz arrived on the Huntress heading to find Lance with this cow]

[Lance waves happily to him once he spots the Galra. Katlenecker just stares for now, chewing on a bit of grass.]

Heeeey! Over here!

[...Lance, the room is not huge, and you're the only person in it.]

[No, his room his not that big so it wasn't like Ulaz was going to get lost. He made his way over to Lance and the cow]

What an interesting creature. I feeling I have seen them somewhere before. [Has Ulaz ever been to a space mall?] And you said her name is Kaltenecker?

There was some space mall we went to that had an Earth store... And they were giving out cows with every purchase of a video game system. Weirdest promo I've ever seen, but whatever, she's awesome.

[He nods!]

Yup, it is.

Cows... with every purchase. I can't say I have ever heard of giving away a living creature for making a purchase. Random trinkets, but not a cow.

Well, it is nice to meet you, Kaltenecker.

[He's not actually expecting the cow to answer, but given that the Alteans had thought she could, it might make Lance think he was]

[The cow just stares at him for a little while longer. She finishes chewing her food, swallows, stares some more, and finally moos at Ulaz.

Lance grins.]

[Ulaz was quiet while the cow stared up at him until it mooed. Well, that was the sound a cow makes]

One of the great conversationalists of our time.

Seems interesting that this far out in space there were would be a store that would carry things from your world. There's a fairly big distance to cover for that.

[Yes, he seemed to know where Earth was or at least generally]

[Lance can't help but laugh at Ulaz's words. Kaltenecker just gives a snort. Of amusement? Disagreement? Who knows.]

Right? It totally blew my mind. And I can't believe that the whole cows-getting-abducted-by-aliens thing that was pretty much a joke on my planet was actually real.

[See? He did have a sense of humor. It was just usually very subtle for the most part]

That was a joke on your world. It must have come from somewhere and we seem to have proof that it did.

[After all there is a cow standing in the Huntress that he knew]

Everyone back home isn't gonna believe it. ...Well, they'll have to believe it, since that's just the tip of the whole iceberg. My planet never made contact with aliens before.

[Shrug.]

[As Lance spoke, Ulaz crouched down to be closer to the height of Kaltenecker. Granted she was still shorter, but the height difference wasn't so drastic anymore]

At least that you are aware of. Though it is true that they are going to have to accept all of this, especially with the lions and a cow from space.

[Kaltenecker takes a step forward, getting right up in Ulaz's space and seemingly sniffing at him.]

Oh yeah. It's gonna be a heck of an event. And man, it is gonna be weird to technically be part of something that's gonna go right down in the textbooks as one of biggest events of the planet's history.

[Well, he certainly wasn't going to shoo her away. He had invited the approach by getting closer to her height. He held out a hand towards her, not making an attempt to touch. If she wanted to, she would. He probably looked a bit intimidating to a small animal]

Not to mention that you have joined the ranks of those elite who are trying to defend the universe and bring peace. More than just your planet will remember your name.

[He's never believed his name would be anything other than lost in the stretches of time, but the paladins would be more widely praised throughout the universe]

[Even in her much smaller form, Kaltenecker doesn't seem to look too intimidated. If anything, she's barely noticed that she's not a full sized cow anymore.]

My name, huh? I always wanted to be famous. Just didn't think it'd be like this.

[He smiles, but it's a little wistful if anything.]

I don't think I deserve to be famous, though. Not when others have been doing as much and even more than me when it comes down to it. I used to want parades and all that, but now?

[Lance gives a little shrug.]

Part of me just wants to be a normal guy again. ...Um, sorry, didn't mean to ramble like that.

[Which is good for her. He's at least not as actually intimidating as others even if he did look that way to others.

At the comment, Ulaz turned to look at him before sitting down on the floor rather than just crouching there. He sat there for a moment, tilting his head up slightly as though looking at the ceiling when Lance spoke]

No, it is alright. I don't doubt that everyone at some point wonders for a more ideal time in their life, even if it is completely different than the life they have fallen into. Unfortunately, the life we long for and the one we have don't necessarily align. It was never my goal as a child to help Kolivan with establishing the Blade of Marmora; it was the hand that I was dealt in my life. The hope for you and the other paladins is that you will be able to bring back the time that seek for not only yourselves, but also for the rest of the universe.

But I don't think having people know who you are has to change you. You are still Lance even though you are a paladin. The fact that people will remember you means that you are doing to title of paladin justice.

Also don't sell yourself short. You are still important.

[the_tailor]

[That...huh.

Lance had always seen Ulaz as an incredibly intelligent man. But more than ever now, he knows that his wisdom is far beyond medical science. He takes in all of those words, practical and logical but far from cold, finding something important in them.

Hope.

No wonder he and Shiro get along so well.

And before Ulaz can react, Lance leans in and gives him a tight hug.]

[Ulaz had been a senior member of the Blades. Though they all followed the same goal, the isolation of shutting themselves off for a purpose was never an easy one. At some point, everyone questioned and it was the job of others who had been there before to provide the support they were looking for when needed.

So it had been so easy to offer that advice to Lance when he had expressed concern.

When Lance moved forward suddenly to hug him, Ulaz was initially taken aback by it before putting his arm around him, a faint smile crossing his face]

You're a pretty good guy, Ulaz... A pretty good guy. I'm grateful to have you around here. We all are.

[Eventually he pulls back, smiling fondly.]
