[The video opens with Ulaz sitting in the kitchen of the Blameless. Beside him, a rather large package that some may realize is the package one received on their birthday. He's already opened it and looked through it]

Clearly even on a day that was picked to be a "birthday" for me a few months ago, the Atroma take this as a fact. I found this box this morning. Some of the things in here would be quite useful. Others... I'm not sure why I have them.

[But still he wants to show others what were in this box. There's a mug and a book that he seemed rather happy about. Also a doctor's lab coat which is CLEARLY too small for Ulaz. There's also a board game which receives a comment of "I don't know what this is supposed to be". And then finally... the mice which he looks incredulously at]

What am I supposed to do with these?

[Ulaz can be found on the kitchen in the Blameless, still with his box of "goodies". After making the announcement, he decided to take a break and make some tea. A good way to spend a birthday.

Now only if there was someone around...]

[In this video, Ulaz is sitting in his lab with Shiro's dog Procyon pacing around nearby. Ulaz reached out a hand to help try to calm the anxious dog]

It seems that the captain of the Blameless has temporarily gone missing. And I am unable to reach others from my world as well. I've heard about it happening, but wasn't sure I'd see it.

In the meantime, as first mate, I'll be in charge of the Blameless. Hopefully this will not last long.

So for vampires, it is a functioning of having information, but less mobility to acquire it on their own.

[If that's the case, he feels he relates better to the "werewolf" mentality. He's not one to basically stay in one place.

Also yes, knowledge is power. He believes that completely]

That sort of thing is good for blackmail. Whether he actually has information, he can convince someone else he does and get what he wants.

In that particular vampire's case, I think he didn't really need to blackmail anyone. He just... enjoyed knowing things people thought should not be known. He was very old, and I think it was a distraction for him.

[Akeldama very, very rarely actually uses any of the information he gets.]

Vampires are used by the Crown for their ability to get information. And werewolves for their strength.

So more about telling people he has information than the information itself... seems like a waste of potentially good information.

[Easy for Ulaz to say considering what he had been doing for years was gathering information... He probably was still doing that now]

Well, as I said, he is very old. Much older than myself. One gets their distractions when one can after so much time.

[Lyall himself was a professional snoop for a long time, although he was supposed to report back.]

Of course, this is also due to the turning. We were all human once, unlike you who were born into an existence that is long-lived.

That is also true that humans may not be prepared to have such a long life span. We expect it, but it doesn't necessarily get much easier even when we know.

[Why do you think he spends so much time doing puzzles]

I do have to say though, there are worse things he could be doing than gathering information.

Much worse things, yes.

[Which he occasionally does, but it's not usually as well known.]

Most times, though, he is more concerned with fashion and the opera.

[Ulaz has a feeling he might do other things based on what he's learned of the guy and what Biffy had told him nearly happened when Biffy was turned. But he has no proof, just a strong suspicion knowing how people work]

Nothing wrong with that either. I can't see either of those being particularly dangerous... unless you stabbed yourself with a needle while sewing.
