So, a certain idol had a birthday on the 17th, but she never really keeps track of it. Sadly, it's left up to the likes of Kaname to make sure that someone knows how old the other members of Walküre are. As such, now that they're in the new system, plans have been made, things done, people invited via word of mouth.

Anyone who wants to wish Mikumo a Happy Birthday should come to the Melting Pot on the Iskaulit at 7pm tonight. Oh yeah.

[Her sheepish smile turns into a knowing one.]

Without the other girls? I'll see what I can manage.

[Silly Mikumo. Kaname heads over to a table with a few presents on it, holding one out to her.]

Of course, if you don't want anything, I can take them back.

Do we really need them?

[It's nice to have the others, but neither one of them is a slacker in regards to vocals. Besides, her birthday.]

What do you mean? They're mine, right?

[Gifts. ALL HERS!]

Why wouldn't I want them?

No, but I'm sure they'd want to be here for this.

[Because her birthday! Kaname laughs at her reaction to the presents.]

Then you've got to come over here.

[ikenai]

I didn't mean it like that. I know they'd love to be here for a party.

[Especially her birthday party. Freyja had admitted to being a fan of Mikumo's back on Windermere and Makina and Reina had made big moves to let her know that she was a part of the group and their little family. And she wishes they were there, even the rest of the Delta squad.

She looks over at Messer for a moment and frowns. Especially the Delta Squad.]

What are they?

[She makes an affirmative humming sound and tosses a small one to Mikumo when she's glancing at Messer. Keep your reflexes sharp.]

Presents. They're a surprise until you open them. That's how this works.

[ikenai]

[Out of the corner of her eye, she sees something flash through the air and she reaches out to grab it before it hits her.

R U D E.]

They can't all be from you. And I don't know that many people here.

[Although, that doesn't stop her from trying to carefully remove the outside paper.]

Why can't they be? I've been here quite some time after all.

[It's a wrapped spherical present that gives way easily if she pushes on it. Once the paper's off, it reveals a rather fitting scarf for her.]

I suppose you have been, but even still. The standard of gift giving is one per person.

[That's what she's heard.

Although, when she pulls out the scarf all talk about gift giving procedures are pushed out of her head as she whips it out to wear it immediately.]

It matches my hair.

[axi]

If that's what you want to believe, then I'll have to find a new home for a lot of these. It shouldn't be that difficult.

[She picks up another one-- a box-- a turns it over in her hands.]

It does.

[ikenai]

[Mikumo looks at the small pile of presents and then at Kaname. It's strange. She doesn't want to seem greedy, but she also doesn't know what to do with all of this.

Hm.

Nope, she takes the next box from Kaname and looks it over before removing the paper from this one.]

They already have a home. It's rude to give away another's presents.

[axi]

That's what I thought. [Walkure's leader winks, happily handing it over.

The box is small and long, carefully wrapped and padded to avoid damage to the item inside. Oh look, a new hair pin.]

These are mostly from different systems when I saw something I thought you'd like.

[ikenai]

[Okay, so she likes to be pretty and pretty things. Kaname knows her well.

When she sees the pin, her eyes get huge.]

So, you've been buying things for me in the hopes I would just show up? What would you have done if I never appeared?

[She switches her current pin for the new one. She loves her old favorite, but it's a purple butterfly, okay?]

You know that's not it. [Kaname doesn't roll her eyes, but she's close, though still smiling.] In case any of you ever arrive, I want you to feel like you still have something of your own ready for you.

[Last one for now: She offers Mikumo a larger present, one that feels like it might be a book.]

After this, we'll have some cake.

[She knows you, Kaname. Don't you roll your eyes at her, even closely.]

Well, that's a nice gesture. Just like something you'd do.

[This one is heavier and square. Hm.]

Did you get me my own personal amplifier to go with my performance gear?

[axi]

[She ducks her head a little at the compliment, perfectly fine with letting that topic go. Instead, she focuses on the last present for the time being.]

I didn't, though you're able to borrow mine if you'd like. Messer gifted me those for my birthday.

[Kaname nods towards it for her to open. Once she does, she'll see an album. Inside are pictures of all sorts of places, labelled with a name at the very least. Some have people or residential aliens, others are scenery. A couple even have Kaname and-or Freyja.

After a moment or two of her perusing the album, she explains.]

This was Prompto's idea, I just helped pick out which pictures might be interesting for you. [Her smile is a proud one.]

He did, did he? How thoughtful.

[It's a shame that Messer and Kaname... Well, no, Mikumo doesn't let that thought fully form. She likes Prompto. He's survived the vetting from both her and Messer and Kaname's happy. So, it's only Messer that needs the prompting.

Hah.

But her attention is fully on the pictures of her friends in the album.]

They're lovely. I missed a lot of fun looking things it seems.

It's true, there have been some fun times, but here, look. [She reaches over and turns about halfway through until she reaches a blank page.]

From here on, the spots are for you to fill up. Prompto and I will help you take and develop the pictures, but everything's up to you.

[Kaname sneaks a glance at Mikumo to see how she takes it.]

Oh.

[She hadn't really expected that. It's very sweet. Of course Kaname is and Prompto too, but not....like this.]

I'm surprised that he hasn't added more pictures of you first.

[axi]

[That has her giggling a little.]

Those are his, we have our own album. [Kaname pauses, then clears her throat. They got a little off topic here.]

Besides, I said I helped choose these. The point was the places, not people.

That's rather cute, a couple's album. I didn't know those were a thing.

[But it's very nice to see Kaname so happy after everything that's happened back home and with the constant reminder that is Messer's presence of what might have been.]

The places hold little for me, Kaname. Not when I haven't been there and it's pretty likely that I might not go.

[MOVING ON!!

She shakes her head, dismissing Mikumo's words.]

It's to show you what's out there. Whether you get to go or not, you've got less experience than most back home in terms of travel and exposure to what's beyond our backyard. Think of this as an introductory course.

[Kaname, you're stealing all her fun. Boo. She just wants to tease you. Is that so bad?]

I suppose that's true. Although, from what I can gather, I've also been to more worlds back home than most people here. I can always expand my horizons while I'm here.

[And then she points to a picture of Kaname and a giant bird.]

Where was that?

[Not to a point. But teasing Kaname isn't her present!

Kaname gives her a slight look.]

You can, but we thought this might be a good start. Or, I did, once he told me the idea.

[A smile creeps on to her face.]

I think you know very well this was the system you arrived in.

[Wrong! Teasing Kaname is always a present! She so rarely gets to do so.]

He's smarter than he looks. And he's rather cute.

[She blinks innocently.]

Is it? I never saw them. I was busy working.

[She means bothering Messer. She really does.]
