[Vash's knew a pattern when he saw one. He set his communicator off to the side to make sure he didn't bump it in his scramble to deal with whatever insane item the Atroma was going to throw at him for his birthday this year. Still close enough to call for help if it was needed, but he was not going to have an accidental broadcast this year!

Which is why when his communicator starts to broadcast on it's own this year there's a clear view of Vash and Kitty already kissing each other in the Twin Roses's cargo bay. The two captains of the ship don't notice at all that their private moment is being broadcasted out to the whole fleet. Vash almost doesn't even notice when a small colorful bouncy ball suddenly falls out of the sky and bounces off of his spiky head.

It's enough to give him a bit of a pause. The second time one falls onto his head he knows it's not just a fluke.] Wha- [Looking up Vash takes just enough time to dorkishly scream and throw himself over Kitty as cascade of bright and colorful bouncy balls suddenly come raining down into the cargo bay.

The best thing about your ~~girlfriend~~ casual partner being a mutant means that Kitty phases the pair safely as the balls start to bounce and ricochet around the room. A banner that reads: HAPPY 136TH BIRTHDAY drifts down among the chaos. Soon after a bouncy ball with the Floot Loop logo smashes into the communicator and it tumbles to the floor. Turning off in the process.

But don't you worry! Vash will be back a bit later on his own looking grumpily into the camera as he shows the colorful mess on the floor of the cargo bay. Kitty and the banner now gone.] Anyone want a free bouncy ball or hundred? Come clean them off my floor and they're yours.

[Why no. He has no clue that all that got broadcast! Want to clue the birthday boy in?]

(OOC: I am back from my sudden hiatus! Vash will be the one mostly answering on this post, but if you really want Kitty to respond please say so! Sorry for suddenly needing to vanish for about a month. I will be getting back to everyone who has tagged Vash and Manji

[He laughs. Not his usual loud and boisterous way of laughing, but a more soft and honest one.] What can I say? It's hard to compete with perfection. The rest of us just know we've already been beat!

[Is there anything better than getting those reactions from him? The ones that feel more sincere and real? Okay, maybe a few things better, but it's something she's really been enjoying lately with him.] How am I supposed to be ridiculously boastful if you're just going to agree with me? [Standing closer, draping her arms around his neck and looking up at him fondly.]

Because I may be agreeing solely to make myself look good. [As she drapes her arms around his neck he slips his around her waist. Grinning like the lying fool he is.]

You look okay. [Smirking back at him and holding awfully close to someone who only looks okay.]

Okay?! Only okay? [He gasps as if he's insulted.] Well! How about taste? [He leans in to give her a kiss.]

[She playfully dodges his kiss.] You have terrible taste. You're into me. [She kisses his cheek instead and smirks at him.]

[Vash looks a bit surprised by the dodge, but recovers after she gives his cheek a kiss.] I suppose you have a point there! But I can't help what I like.

[She smiles at that, momentarily at a loss for words.]

Well, are you going to kiss me or what? [The moment ended.]

Hmmmm... [He looks up at the ceiling as if he's in deep thought. Considering all of his options. His many, many options of either yes or no.] Yeah. I suppose so! [Leaning in for that kiss again.]

[No dodging this time. She kisses him back warmly and when she pulls back she nibbles his bottom lip a bit.] When do you want to unwrap your gift? [Said in a voice that probably at least hints that the gift is her. Thankfully this is no longer being recorded.]

Oh, I don't know. What are you doing tonight? [He pulls her into a close hug as gives her another passionate kiss.] Or even right now? [Giving her only three days to find a gift may have been the best unintentional move he's ever made.]

[Vash! Always so ready to start in high gear! She manages to meet his kiss though and then laughs at his suggestion.] Well, not in here. [But she doesn't move either. She kind of wants it to be in there. It's not the thrill of getting caught so much as the thrill of being wanted that badly to risk it. But also...they probably shouldn't do it in there. It's hard when what you want and what you also want are at odds.]

[He smiles back with his hands drifting down to rest on her bottom.] Well, then how abou-- VISION! [Hopefully Kitty isn't too insulted by the way Vash just suddenly jumped back and away from her as he looks up at the ceiling.]

[And so it is.]
