[Vash's knew a pattern when he saw one. He set his communicator off to the side to make sure he didn't bump it in his scramble to deal with whatever insane item the Atroma was going to throw at him for his birthday this year. Still close enough to call for help if it was needed, but he was not going to have an accidental broadcast this year!

Which is why when his communicator starts to broadcast on it's own this year there's a clear view of Vash and Kitty already kissing each other in the Twin Roses's cargo bay. The two captains of the ship don't notice at all that their private moment is being broadcasted out to the whole fleet. Vash almost doesn't even notice when a small colorful bouncy ball suddenly falls out of the sky and bounces off of his spiky head.

It's enough to give him a bit of a pause. The second time one falls onto his head he knows it's not just a fluke.] Wha- [Looking up Vash takes just enough time to dorkishly scream and throw himself over Kitty as cascade of bright and colorful bouncy balls suddenly come raining down into the cargo bay.

The best thing about your ~~girlfriend~~ casual partner being a mutant means that Kitty phases the pair safely as the balls start to bounce and ricochet around the room. A banner that reads: HAPPY 136TH BIRTHDAY drifts down among the chaos. Soon after a bouncy ball with the Floot Loop logo smashes into the communicator and it tumbles to the floor. Turning off in the process.

But don't you worry! Vash will be back a bit later on his own looking grumpily into the camera as he shows the colorful mess on the floor of the cargo bay. Kitty and the banner now gone.] Anyone want a free bouncy ball or hundred? Come clean them off my floor and they're yours.

[Why no. He has no clue that all that got broadcast! Want to clue the birthday boy in?]

That... be a word for her. A pretty nice one. Put her closer to psychotic. [Remy was very glad he never had any real run ins with Mystique.] We even had the version from m' world here on the Fleet 'while back. Kinda surprised from the lack of damage done with her bein' here.

'nd that just the femme who raised him. Don't wanna meet the homme who did. [Remy really, really, isn't actually trying to scare Vash, despite what it sounds like. Just more preparing him just in case things go wrong. Kurt and Kitty were very close, after all.]

I think I'm starting to understand why Kurt can be so scary sometimes. Don't meet the people who raised him. Got it.

[Not that Remy really blames... and he can't believe he's even thinking this... Mystique or Sabretooth for raising Kurt to be harsh, not in the world he comes from, not when it meant surviving. Sure, there was that good hearted, fuzzy dude side of Kurt that still shone through, but also that side who was ready to slit throats if it meant keeping friends and family safe.

And Remy liked Vash enough to not let that happen. Though he was pretty sure Kurt wouldn't go that far. Pretty sure.] Fingers crossed neither show up... or at least not for a long stay. [It might be nice for Kurt if they showed up for a short time, less so for everyone else.]

Well, if you do, make sure you point them out to me so I know who to avoid. [And who to threaten to not make life difficult for his crew.

You know, in that special Vash way sort of threaten.]

Think they be hard to miss, [Unless Mystique was hiding herself... that was a bit tougher.] But will do. [Agreeing to that before another kick to the balls to send his cats chasing after the new set of movement across the bay.]

Though do 'xpect the other way 'round if ya got 'nyone mean showin' up from ya world.

I will. Promise. Although I don't think I really have anyone too big to worry about. [He smiles in a way that tries to say: Who would have it out to get me? And with the way Vash tries to paint himself in the fleet? Who would? He's a nice guy who preaches about love, peace, and how no one has the right to take the life of another. He's a grown man who will cry when he's denied donuts and loves flowers.

Surely he's not a man who knows of multiple people who have caused a mass genocide on his planet, right?]

Ya got 'nything actually planned for today? [Just because Remy doesn't celebrate his birthday, doesn't mean others didn't want to celebrate their own.]

Naw. Not really. To be honest if it wasn't for this place giving me really stupid gifts that I have to clean up each year I would probably forget the day entirely.
