[For better or for worse, the crew of the Red Fish was entrusted with a very important piece of cargo for the Atroma. The aforementioned cargo is sitting (currently) undisturbed in the cargo bay. The consensus of the ship seemed so far to be not to deliver it, at least not yet. There are too many unanswered questions about the Atroma, and this could be too good a lead to pass up.]

[At the same time, the crew has opted not to open it for the time being, although that doesn't mean it hasn't drawn some suspicious eyes. There are no guards in place for the box, and it's open for anyone to inspect.]

[ The box definitely makes him wary, just because they're not sure what's in it. Carl trusts the Atroma about as far as he can throw them (he can't) and just babysitting this box does about as much good as playing delivery boy. Though, it's better to know what they were supposed to be carting in the first place, isn't it? ]

I really don't like this.. but I think we need to know.

[Rose trusts the Atroma about as much (if not less) than Carl does. She's had bad experience with mystery boxes in the past, and this one doesn't make her feel much better. If anything, it makes her feel worse.]

We need to know, but the Atroma will also know if we open it. If anything, we should toss it out a cargo bay door.

The Atroma are going to know either way. I think we should keep it for a while- whoever we're supposed to be delivering to can't be good, either.

[ At home, they've had to play nice for an 'overlord' of sorts, so this situation feels too much like that. He really doesn't want to give them what they want. ]

That's probably the wisest course of action. They certainly can't get mad at us for holding onto the thing, as long as it doesn't get damaged. And if it's dangerous, I'd hate to see what their allies might do with it.

[Rose might not be wise in the way of politics, but get accused of regicide once, and you get smart quick.]

Right. If they couldn't tell us what we're delivering, then they sure as hell don't need it.

[ It's like single-handedly giving over the keys to the kingdom at this point, isn't it? ]

If we shoot it out the cargo bay, someone else could pick it up.

If we shoot it out the cargo bay, they'll know we disposed of it. But if we keep it on board, they won't think to attack us.

[Rose's lips twist into a smile. She's not happy about this, but it is nice to see the Atroma let their guard down, for once.]

It's nice to finally have some leverage on them.

It is, isn't it? I wonder if we can open it and re-seal it. I know that didn't really work earlier, but.. I dunno. Doesn't seem right to let them have it, either.
