[The Box]
[At the same time, the crew has opted not to open it for the time being, although that doesn't mean it hasn't drawn some suspicious eyes. There are no guards in place for the box, and it's open for anyone to inspect.]

I really don't like this.. but I think we need to know.
no subject
We need to know, but the Atroma will also know if we open it. If anything, we should toss it out a cargo bay door.

[ At home, they've had to play nice for an 'overlord' of sorts, so this situation feels too much like that. He really doesn't want to give them what they want. ]

Carl Grimes
[ The Red Fish is known for its lack of decent sleep schedule with all its insomniacs, or at least it had been. Carl still doesn't sleep all that great, especially lately. It's late, though it's hard to tell with the endless stars exactly what time it is. He's rummaging through the kitchen, making a cup of tea. Maybe that will help get him back to sleep. Or he'll have another restless night full of half-nightmares. While he's waiting for water to boil, he crosses his arms over his chest, glancing up. ]
You want some, too?
b;; Quarters
[ Carl can be found mostly in the evenings in his room, feeding strawberries to his lizards Lyra and Iris, reading a book, or browsing on his communicator. Things have been relatively quiet, and he can't help but feel a little saddened by the absence of Asuka and Velvet. He'd grown pretty close to them since he arrived, so them being gone is like any of his family disappearing. He'll move on, but it stings. It feels a little harder than it did in the past. If someone happens to visit, of course he's happy to see them. ]
Hey. What's up?
c;; Halls
[ During the day, he keeps himself busy and can probably be found moving from one place to the other, or elbow-deep in one of the wall panels trying to fix something. Maybe he's hunting for his lizard! Lyra is a beautiful green and blue color... most of the time. Sometimes she is a nuisance and using her natural camouflage and has placed herself...somewhere. ]
d;;
[ Wildcard! ]
b
Aneth ara, da'len.

[ He's always glad to see Leilani, and he makes room for her on the bed, scooting closer to the wall. Carl's trying to be okay- more than he actually feels. It's been a lot harder to smile and move on with more time to process the loss. He knows neither of his crew died, but it still feels like a stab to the gut. He'd gotten close to both of them on his own, outside of his own world, so the connections had seemed more real- more impactful to him. ]

Hey, you. Busy?
[She had adapted strangely well into becoming Captain. The work didn't change, but she still found herself missing Takeshi like crazy. It would get better, she reminded herself often. These things took time.]
no subject
Hey, Maggie. Nah, I'm not busy.
C.)
[While finding Carl in the ship's innards in some way or another was hardly a new occurrence, this particular situation gives Flug pause until he notices the barely discernible scratches of tiny lizard feet on the accompanying wall.]
"Ah. Lyra, again?"
no subject
I thought I had her earlier, but she's quick when she wants to be.
no subject
[Flug agrees, craning his neck to get a better look at the potential hole she may have crawled into.]
"I had something of a similar situation back home. Always disappearing the moment you take your eyes off them. Taking your things. Waiting to pounce when you least expect it."
[He shudders.]

Thank you.
[She sits down, letting the warm cup settle in her hands. It's calming.]
Things have been quiet here recently. I'm not sure what to think.
a
..Yeah. I don't really like it. Not that this is a very loud crew, but it's even quieter now. [ He's going to miss Asuka and Velvet. Carl looks up at her, curious. ]
Can't sleep?

Dr/Captain Flug Slys
[Peace was an odd thing. For villains it represented boredom or a calm before the storm; usually one they were intent on bringing. Back in Black Hat manor, Flug could take comfort in the idea that nothing was as dangerous or terrifying as his boss. When death came it would from that very specific assured source, regardless of the many other perils he faced on a daily basis. Here, on the other hand, Flug had come to realize, while certainly not the most powerful he truly was the most nefarious. If anyone were to be plotting a scheme, it would be himself. The title Captain meant nothing. Not when they were simply dragged behind the Marsiva like a child’s racecar toy, but the lack of completing evil influences, this was something he could ultimately work with; which leads Dr. Flug to doing the unthinkable. He actually joins someone at breakfast.]
“…Coffee?”
B.)“This is your Captain speaking..”
[It felt funny to say that again after so long. Flug was grateful for the privacy his bag awarded him over his feelings on the matter. He waited a courteous few days before embracing the role, but when it was clear Velvet truly was not returning, he gathered up the remaining crew to meet aboard the bridge. Discussions were needed. He stands attentively.]
“I expect you have some concerns regarding my promotion. While I myself am surprised and suspicious of this turn of events, worry not! I would like to assure you I have plenty of experience managing projects and teams! I run a lab back home, I know plenty about business and I have been a pilot as well as done some temporary camp counselor work. R-regardless of our differences on personal points of view, as Captain, I will do my utmost to serve the needs of this vessel as well as everyone aboard. If there are changes you’d like implemented, I’d like to hear them."
[He steps aside to reveal a table full of blue prints, he sweeps one up without preamble.]
“I myself have thought up a few, ah, modifications we could potentially employ-- [Ah but these aren't his clients. ] "B-but your concerns! Your concerns are what matter."
C.) Almost Joyride
[Red Fish no longer had a pilot, not that their job had allowed them to do much to begin with. An augment was needed to supposedly access the controls, but how important could one be really? It certainly doesn't seem to be stopping the doctor from sneaking into the seat with several tools. He was a genius! It couldn't be too hard!.. It may be best to talk him out of this.]
WILD
[Anywhere, doing anything, probably asking for a wrench he dropped, sorry! Guests are more than welcome to gawk at the strange man while visiting someone else. He even squeaks when you catch him by surprise!]
B
Do whatever you want. As long as you don't get us killed, I don't care.
B!
[He quirks a brow. That took a lot less convincing than expected. So much for needing to convey sincerity.]
"On the contrary, keeping us alive will be my top priority! Atroma may control our flight path, but for all intents and purposes this vessel is ours! Hehe, I say we make the most of it. For example:"
[He unrolls one of his many blueprints, this one detailing the floor plans of the ship.]
“The central corridor that runs through Red Fish leaves us more exposed than other vessel layouts, this could be a disadvantage when being pursued by a threat but we could improve security with a few new containment measures, such as extra hydraulic doors to deter oncoming threats that sneak on board.”

Now what...? [He's going to take a moment to perplexedly examine the pudding, but after that he'll start looking around the ship until he meets someone willing to offer a bit of clarity.]
no subject
“You—How did you get aboard?”
[They left the docking station hours ago!]
no subject
"I don't know. ...I've been told we're placed on smaller ships shortly after arriving - is this perhaps what they meant?"

So, you're the new guy, huh?

That's correct. My name is Libra. It's a pleasure to meet you, miss...?
