[Rose is still waking up when Libra is shuffled onto the Red Fish, but even in her drowsy state, she can recognize the sound of a new crew member coming aboard.]

[It's not like she could avoid him, even if she tried, so when she eventually runs into Libra she gives him a small wave.]

So, you're the new guy, huh?

[Libra smiles and nods politely. He seems calm, at least, if not yet totally at ease in this new environment.]

That's correct. My name is Libra. It's a pleasure to meet you, miss...?

Rose.

[She's not sure what to think; given the past record of this crew, their newcomer is very polite. Too polite. This is almost unsettling.]

So, what's your story?

Story? [Now he seems politely confused.] I woke up on the Marsiva, which I'm given to understand is the same for all of us here, and then after a few days I was brought here instead. At home, I'm a member of the Shepherds of Ylisse, if that's what you mean.

That basic, huh?

[After Velvet, Snow, and Eizen, she wasn't expecting someone so...forthcoming. She'd probably feel more comfortable with this, if this hadn't gotten her in trouble before.]

The Shepherds? You herded sheep?

[hollowedfaith]

[He smiles again, shaking his head.] We guard the kingdom and its people from danger in times of need. ...The Shepherds were begun as a pet project of Exalt Chrom, while he was still the prince and in need of something to keep him occupied, but over time grew to a formidable enough strength to stand beside the army and even act as an advance force.

[Recently they killed an eldritch abomination and saved the world, but he doesn't really like to brag.]

A group that protects the kingdom from danger? I was involved in something similar back home. The Scions of the Seventh Dawn, we were called.

[It's not often that Rose feels nostalgic for the Scions, but recently she's been thinking of home more. Even if she doesn't want to return, that didn't change the fact she had good friends in the group.]

Most of what we handled were simple requests though. Taking something from somewhere to somewhere else, gathering ingredients for a feast, exploring old temples. That sort of thing.

[And fighting gods on the regular, but she'd rather not remember that part.]

That sounds like a worthwhile group as well; I suspect the Shepherds might have been in a similar position were it not for the fact that the prince and princess were involved from the start. Asking royalty to run such errands is a bit much. [Even if they'd probably be willing, and/or it might be good for them.]

But I'm pleased to be in good company.

[He really doesn't seem to be hiding anything, at least.]

Well, you might be surprised how quickly it goes from running errands to staging a revolution. A small one, anyway.

[At least here, that wasn't her business.]

I'm not quite sure about good company, but I do suppose your better than recent shipmates we've had. Our last captain reeked of darkness.
