[Well, he does look vaguely like himself even if he's quite clearly not Galra anymore, with tanned skin and non-pointed ears. He still has the white mohawk and the markings on the side of his head appear to be... tattoos?]

Well, this is not something that I was expecting to have happen. It appears that this time, I am no longer Galra. I seem to be human.

I mean no offense to the humans here, but this is a strange experience for me. I can already tell this form is not as strong and I seem to be a little shorter? I wonder what else is different.

[Ulaz can be found on the Blameless, doing his normal work in the lab and other duties he has been assigned either as part of being First Mate or taking on because of Shiro's temporary restrictions. Of course, he would also be checking on his patients or seeking out Procyon at some point to see the lovely dog.

On the Iskaulit, he was probably in the library, which wasn't exactly the most exciting. The other place he could be found was the obstacle course he used for training. After a few days of thinking this was weird, he decided to use this as a learning experience, seeing how this body differed from the one that he was used to so he was going to try and train as normal]

[He knew other people wouldn't have taken to the change too kindly. Many would have faltered at it.

Hux gave a nod and after a few warm ups he singled that he was ready to begin some hand to hand.]

[Ulaz stretches as well, making sure that he's warmed up today. Once he was done warming up and signaled by Hux he was ready, Ulaz came to stand in front of him so they could begin. Hux would likely notice Ulaz was slower than normal, but whether that was a function of apprehension or the condition... hard to tell]

[Hux decided to go ahead and do a few basic punches. He didn't want to start of anything too extreme and wanted to allow Ulaz some time to adjust. He also didn't want to take things easy on him either. He knew Ulaz wouldn't approve.]

[The few basic punches, after catching them, gave some back as well. It was quite clear just from that he was either pulling his punches significantly or he just didn't have his normal strength behind them. He was still strong, but not as he was before. He did appreciate the chance to warm up and test his limits]

[Once he realized that Ulaz was starting to seem more comfortable, Hux tried to speed things up change things in a challenging way. He added in a few more kicks as well wanting to strengthen the one weak area he had. He had hoped he had improved since their last session.]

[He had definitely improved, but at the moment, Ulaz's normal guideline was altered. However, given this was human fighting human, Ulaz would say he is getting better at it. He definitely seemed less disadvantaged when kicking out at him]

You have been practicing.

[The acknowledgement earned a quick small smile from Hux before he replaced it with his normal neutral one. It was rare to receive praise, and Hux relished it when it did.]

I don't like to have a weakness. I work to improve any sign of it.

That is a good philosophy to have. I prefer not to have a weakness either. I would also prefer my students to not have one. Weaknesses are dangerous.

[Weaknesses can be exploited. If weaknesses are hard to find, it makes one harder to beat]

How do you feel about attachment as a weakness? Whether its to family, someone you love, your team, your army, or people in general? How far is someone considered expandable?

[Hux carefully chose his words knowing how much of a hot topic this could to many people. He felt that Ulaz would be able to have a good mind on things being able to understand the picture as whole. Not to mention his people were very similar to how the First Order operated.]

[Ulaz paused at that considering it]

My organization should not be weak. We all have a role to play. It is impossible for us to completely separate and still be able to do our job. Family and loved ones... they can be a weakness. I have left people behind to not have myself distracted and not put them in the way.

Any life is expendable. Mine is expendable. The preference should be towards though who have placed themselves willing in a position where it is at risk. A civilian should not be expendable, but they often are for the greater power of either or both sides.

[For the most part Ulaz's train of thought ran right along First Orders expectations. Just as Hux had expected. Yet, he felt that Ulaz's view probably had chanced since then. He did recall that Ulaz said he wasn't too happy with how somethings were done.]

What if civilians were helping the enemy out by supplying them and hiding them?

[To Ulaz, any life being expendable didn't mean permission granted to go after anyone for no reason. If someone chose that position, there was nothing that spared them punishment of some sort, even if it was grievous enough to come to death. A shuttle that happened to be in the flight path of another with no offense was not expendable simply because it was there]

Willingly or unwillingly? Or to what degree were they aware the nature of the people they were hiding? The world is more than one or the other. There are degrees.

[Hux frowned as he listened to Ulaz question the scenario. These were questions he wasn't used to hearing and this is where he figured that Ulaz stood out from his people.

For the firs time in a long time, Hux wasn't sure how to handle an answer to those questions. This was new territory for him. He also had an idea that if he answered truthfully, that those answers would have been considered bad.

Out of habit, he dug his finger nails in to the palm of his right hand. A habit he did when he was stressed or uncertain. Yet, he was the one to bring up the topic knowing it was a delicate one to start with.]

They openly supported them and willingly supplied and helped them. One would say they were the back bone for them.

[These are things you need to consider. Ulaz is going to provide the questions that need to be thought of when making a decision. He waited patiently for a response. He knew about the military background and that in a lot of cases, you didn't question the reasons behind why someone told you to do something. You did them]

Then yes, something might be considered in that case. They should not be supported in their effort by receiving your support or supplies as well, but I don't know if they would still be considered expendable to the degree that could simply be killed.

I'm assuming that's where the question is going.

[There was a slight twitch in his right cheek as Hux spoke. The more he thought about discussing the subject entirely and telling Ulaz everything the more he panicked at the idea. He felt like a coward for backing away from the topic entirely. So much for the training that they were supposed to be doing.]

I'm aware that I am the one who started the subject, but I believe that now won't be a good time to continue the discussion. There is a lot that I need to explain before you can fully understand the picture.

I sense that there will be some disagreement on how things were handled. I wish to discuss this more with you and Keith at a better time. I feel he has the right to understand the subject as well. I have come to confide in the two of you a lot more then I do with my peers back home.

Perhaps, this is my weakness as well for allowing myself to confide and trust another person. Something I haven't done in a long time.

I understand if you wish to wait on it. We can discuss it at a later time.

I don't feel that trusting others is a weakness. As someone who wanted to, but was physically inability to trust anyone for years, it is not a pleasant thing.

Perhaps, you may have to reconsider that. I don't know if you would come to trust me after what I have to explain. I'm not allowed to have nice things it seems.

[Giving a brief bow toward Ulaz to signal he was done training for the day he headed out the door. The thought about having a drink with Ulaz was long gone. Perhaps it was better to keep a distance.]
