at least she didn't set the ships on fire
Who: Lup & OTA
Broadcast: Yes
Action: SS Heron, SS First Breath (a bit), Planetside
When: today & throughout the event
( a; arrival on the Heron )
[Lup's arrival on the bridge, confetti and all, is as much a shock to her as anyone else who might witness it. For a moment, she's just quietly stunned.
And then she lets out the loudest WHOOP her lungs can muster and goes through the very strange process of experiencing the ship:
1) she does, like, seven cartwheels in every hallway
2) she just starts touching stuff. walls, consoles, cupboards, furniture. life is so tactile!
3) she finds an actual real live person and grabs their hand immediately to shake
4) she flops dramatically on the nearest bed or couch, regardless of whose it is
She does every single one of these with a huge, shit-eating grin on her face. She has a body again! Holy shit, it feels amazing! It's time to party.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS ARE GREAT, RIGHT]
( b; First Breath )
[Her time on the First Breath is brief, and she tries to time it in a way that Taako won't be around for it, but that doesn't meant that other residents won't spot an elf sort of sneaking around the kitchen and down the hall one day. Catch her, if you can! Those who have already met Taako might notice that she looks exactly like him.
She'll be leaving a fancy new wooden spoon behind in one of the kitchen drawers before she goes.]
( c; text & voice broadcast )
this is a test, looking for some intel. I need to know two things:
1) when you read or hear these words, can you understand it, or is it just static?
2) if you experience static, is it every word, or just some?
GRAND RELIC. BUREAU OF BALANCE. PHOENIX FIRE GAUNTLET. VOIDFISH.
IPRE. LIGHT OF CREATION. HANGING ARCANEUM. THE HUNGER.
GREG FUCKING GRIMALDIS.
[She repeats the full message verbally, and then, after a pause-]
Sorry for the noise if all you get is static, spaceballs. I'm just trying to do some science.
[Weirdly enough none of that should be static for anyone- except for 1 specific person, of course. Sorry Taako.]
( d; planetside )
[Lup's priorities are thus: 1) scrap the heck out of everything useful that she can get her hands on, and 2) FIGHT ALL OF THE THINGS.
She can be found digging her way through piles of metal and parts, elbows deep into whatever might be useful. She won't touch the piles that look like actual garbage, but appliances, vehicles, decor and kitchenware- she's all in. Even if something looks broken, she gives it a considering look before adding it to her "keep" pile; after all, magic powers can fix a lot of broken stuff. Want to come and help with the dumpster diving? She seems to be an old pro at this.
She can also be found signing up for as many gambling arena tournaments as she has time and spell slots for, both the solo fights and the partnered ones, or just fighting against monsters. Are you joining the fight, too? Because she's looking for a good, tough-looking (or at least deceptively strong) scrapper to join her! Let's go punch some aliens! She's been isolated for far too long, and she's eager to give her long-dormant power a solid test-drive.]

no subject
[Which was still odd in her opinion, but she wasn't complaining.]
no subject
[She loves cooking too, always has, but nobody loves it the way Taako does. Nothing is quite so delightful as watching a master at work, which is why she likes to see him create his edible masterpieces whenever she can.]
no subject
[Or chefs in general, but that was something else.]
In that context, it makes more sense. He must move around often to be so... content with having a designated area like this.
no subject
[She shrugs her shoulders, responding with a big ol' non-answer. She's not comfortable discussing Taako's life with a stranger, crewmate or not, especially with him not here for it. Their relationship is already so tenuous; she's not risking his ire for anyone.]
You'll get used to him, probably. Eventually. Everyone else does.
no subject
Adapting is inevitable. Or, I could move.
[The cat looks up from his playing to give a hiss at that statement.]
no subject
He really must've spoiled your cat to merit that sort of response.
no subject
... He has. They connected fairly quickly, and are grand partners in a conspiracy against me.
no subject
[She's pretty sure Taako would flip his shit a little if she transferred over here, but it's just plain weird to not want to be here. The decor even looks better already.]
no subject
[Not exactly. Well. Maybe this was complaining slightly. She was letting them get away with it and she couldn't understand her own reasons for doing so.]
Besides, I was here first, and there is no legitimate reason to leave. Yet.
[They're an odd little crew, but it works, particularly since conditions had improved considerably. Unless her spite points rack up just high enough.]
I will keep that one in mind, however. [Just as a "warning". For Kova. Who makes another noise in discontent, before batting further at the string.]
no subject
[Room enough for a cat and his aggressive stomach, apparently.
Tentatively she reaches out, fingers brushing together, towards the cat. Is she allowed to pet? Just a little?]
no subject
[He's slightly cautious, sniffing at her hand and walking himself around in a careful circle a few times, bumping her hand lightly with his head. Not so much inviting the petting but controlling it.]
no subject
[She's fine with the cat controlling the point of contact; mostly she's just tickled pink to be petting a cat again. It's been a decade and a half, and she's missed it so much. Is it soft?? Is it fluffy?? Does he know how to purr?? She's so excited, she lets out a soft "oh" as soon as she feels him rub against her hand.]
no subject
[As for Kova, his fur is smooth to the touch; he does not allow her to touch the more jagged and potentially fluffier looking parts. Purring, however, is evident; there's certainly a low rumbling that is not a growl once he has achieved contact in a way that suits him. He does desire affection, even if the person he really wants it from is standing yards away, watching them dispassionately and not providing it.
But he likes this new person. He gives a small lick to Lup's fingers before nuzzling her hand with his head again. He could just be trying to spite his owner, but it's clear he's pleased by this.]
no subject
Hey, so, I love your cat? Like, a lot? Just getting it out there. Total sweetheart.
no subject
It seems like you ought to visit often so he is not left wanting.
no subject
I might. He'd get annoyed if I was here too often, though, so I'll stretch it out.
[He being Taako- though it could easily be interpreted as Kova, too.]
no subject
She can read between lines enough to tell that statement was not wholly referring to the cat, but since neither of them really brought Taako up directly, she's not about to do so either.]
It would be reasonable to give him enough time to miss you as well.
no subject
[She gives Kova one last appreciative scritch under the chin, then straightens up and starts heading for the hall that leads back to the shuttle bay.]
Speaking of, I'd better be on my way. Maybe I'll see you both around later.
[She has to bail before Taako shows up and catches her here.]
