[This might be the only time anyone will see Pidge looking so happy. And feeling the tiniest bit social. The latter of which is really only obvious because she actually made a post to the network in order to share some of her more interesting findings with the rest of the Fleet. There are practically stars in her eyes.

This may never happen again.

Pidge is basically giggling as she positions her comm somewhere it can get a good view of her and her pile of seeming-junk, then immediately hurries back over to join her pile. From here, it's very easy to see the little green mouse droid rolling around, attempting to nudge the junk into neater piles, and what looks like a floating green caterpillar with glowing cheeks coming over to bump gently against the side of Pidge's head. She doesn't seem to mind.]

Okay! So there is a lot of really cool stuff on this planet, and I'm pretty sure I can work with it all. Check this out-

[Still beaming, she crouches down by the pile and starts picking at some of the stuff she's found. She goes through them all methodically, picking one item up and raising it for the camera to see before giving a brief explanation of what it is and what she can use it for. She does this for a while, one by one, but eventually she stops when both the mouse droid and the caterpillar start nudging into her sides.]

Fine, I'll wrap it up. Just- If anyone has a tech project in mind, just let me know. I'm basically gonna be planetside for as long as we're here, I think. There's a lot of awesome potential around here!

Eh, sort of? I lived on a base on a fake moon for the past year? Half a year? I dunno; it got confusing after being trapped in a time bubble.

[So nonchalant about that. Totes normal for his life.]

Istus is the Goddess of Fate. After she did me a solid, I switched from Oghma to her. She does some bitchin' crochet and knitting.

Oh. [Pidge's nose wrinkles ever so slightly. Religion and lore and talk of gods and goddesses is so not her thing. She'll happily let that topic drop because--]

A fake moon? [Now that's a way to get a Pidge's ears to perk up in interest.] How was it a fake moon? Was it not actually a body orbiting a planet?

More like it was a moon, but not a real one? I wasn't saavy on the lingo since whenever they talked about it, I'd zone out.

But what we thought of as the moon was a giant base of operations for this... place I worked.

[The greatest raised eyebrow in the world. Sounds terribly confusing.]

So... hang on, you're from a "fantasy world", but you worked for a place that had a base on what appeared to be a moon.

Oh trust me. It's just as insane as it sounds.

[Taako shrugs and his bangle bracelets jangle against his bracer.]

We all just thought it was a regular ol' moon, but no! Surprise! Moon base.

Sounds like the plot of a sci-fi series.

At least that means that this place doesn't completely throw you off.

We're flying over a different planet that's full of garbage. So far, color me unimpressed by space.

[Except that it's a useful planet least. He just wishes he could go to nice places for once.]

With all that nerd talk earlier, I'm going to guess you come from a place where this is normal?

Technically it's more of a junkyard. [She looks away to dig into the pile in front of her and pulls up a perfectly decent spare machine part.] So far, no food wastes or glass bottles.

[With that out of the way, Pidge puts the part back down with a shrug.] Uh- Yes and no. My home planet is still in the earlier stages of space travel. My- [She seems to hesitate here for a split second.] My friends and I sort of accidentally got pulled to the other side of the universe and have sorta been intergalactic travelers ever since.

Because the only thing that could make this more of a mess would be a hella funky stank - thank goodness.

[He's glad for that because no one needs to have to wade through a stanky planet.

Her hesitation there is interesting, but Taako has to weigh it out with himself. Is it interesting enough to invest his time in it? Could it be good gossip? Does he owe it to her because she is going to make him an espresso machine (whatever that is, he just heard it talked about in town and now he wants one)?

Hm..........

Yeah, he's bored. He's got nothing else to do.]

So you're old hat at this "being ripped from home and thrown into space." Cool, cool. But one question?

Not so sure about the friends part? There was that little.... [He gestures even if she can't see it.] Something up?

[That comment gets her to chuckle a little, even snorting in amusement.] Yeah, I definitely wouldn't be out here doing this if I had to wade through trash of that level.

[And then there's the slightest bit of tension in her shoulders when the friends thing gets brought up. Pidge honestly didn't think her hesitation there was all that noticeable, but now here she is.]

It's a long story. I-I'd rather not talk about it.

I mean, I'm bored as hell, little dude, so long stories? Not a problem.

Secrets? Also not a problem. Taako knows about.... 3 people on this piece of junk world so who is he going to tell?

[And did he mention he's really bored?]

Buuut if you'd really rather not, I can just regale you with tales of all the trash I've sifted through.

[Still, Pidge looks uncomfortable, lips pressing into a tight line and gaze moving somewhere offscreen.]

...Yeah, I-- I'd rather hear about what you've found around here.

[It's not even that any of it is really a secret. It's just... private. Personal. No offense, elfin fantasy man.]

[With a shrug, he relents because as much as he likes gossip, he also knows what it's like to want to keep his business to himself. Instead, he fumbles with the device and changes the voice to video so Pidge can see the extent of the stuff he's claimed.

Every inch of his room is decorated despite only just arriving. Most of the walls have sashes or beaded curtains hung up, and in every available space he's shoved either clothes or pillows or knick-knacks.]

All this basically. I've been busy. Plus a waffle maker, something called a "blender" which is just hideous to look at, and enough metal to transmute our ship's interior. But that's the cargo hold until I rest enough to do that spell.

And this thing.

[He holds up a TV remote control.]

I have no idea why it has this many buttons though. They don't do jack shit.

[Pidge watches as the guy shows his space off, her eyes moving from item to item to item. She can't help but look amused when he brings up the blender and the remote control; if nothing else, the guy does seem interested in different kinds of tech.]

Blenders are for processing food, taking larger pieces of food and reducing them to something a little more... [What's the word. Mashed? Puree'd? No, no, go simpler.] ...liquid-y.

And that's a remote control for a television. It won't work on its own, it has to be calibrated to a television set first.

[He's interested in a lot of things, but especially those useful to him. The blender was definitely useful and he'll be putting that to use soon, but the television thing? It's his catchphrase and now he's all ears, peering into the device at Pidge.]

So this is going to sound dumb, but what is a television? I've been saying I'm Taako from TV for years, but that's because I did a freaking successful traveling show.

[Pidge grins.] That doesn't sound dumb at all. [She expects questions like that from people who are from fantasy-like worlds, after all.]

Television is a telecommunication medium used for transmitting moving images in two or three dimensions and with sound to other people. Technically the term can refer to a television set, a television program - a TV show, like a play that's been filmed with a camera - or the medium of television transmission itself. But a television set is a device that combines a tuner, display, and loudspeakers for the purpose of allowing people to watch television. So like- Right now, you know the whole deal with the Drift Fleet, right? That we're all supposedly on a reality show?

[Huh.

That.

Hm.

That sounds like stuff Lucas (Luka? Lucha? What was his name? Eh didn't matter) would be into. And if an image and doing could be picked up and sent anywhere, that is something Taako is interested in. It definitely made this "reality show" business seem a lot more logical. He'd been wondering if they were being broadcast to a secondary plane or something, but this makes more sense.

The problem being?]

Mmhmmm, got it, got it, cool. So we're a TV show, cool - just one question then?

Where are the cameras we're supposed to be recorded with?
