[This might be the only time anyone will see Pidge looking so happy. And feeling the tiniest bit social. The latter of which is really only obvious because she actually made a post to the network in order to share some of her more interesting findings with the rest of the Fleet. There are practically stars in her eyes.

This may never happen again.

Pidge is basically giggling as she positions her comm somewhere it can get a good view of her and her pile of seeming-junk, then immediately hurries back over to join her pile. From here, it's very easy to see the little green mouse droid rolling around, attempting to nudge the junk into neater piles, and what looks like a floating green caterpillar with glowing cheeks coming over to bump gently against the side of Pidge's head. She doesn't seem to mind.]

Okay! So there is a lot of really cool stuff on this planet, and I'm pretty sure I can work with it all. Check this out-

[Still beaming, she crouches down by the pile and starts picking at some of the stuff she's found. She goes through them all methodically, picking one item up and raising it for the camera to see before giving a brief explanation of what it is and what she can use it for. She does this for a while, one by one, but eventually she stops when both the mouse droid and the caterpillar start nudging into her sides.]

Fine, I'll wrap it up. Just- If anyone has a tech project in mind, just let me know. I'm basically gonna be planetside for as long as we're here, I think. There's a lot of awesome potential around here!

[All the chatter was kind of lost to Keith as he focused on the new little droid thing that was hanging out with her.]

Where'd you get that?

[Oh HI KEITH. Pidge looks so pleased to see you.]

Oh, you mean Little Green?

[She grins and turns toward the mouse droid, gesturing for it to come closer.]

Hux built him. I made some modifications of my own, of course. Cute, huh?

Hux? [Keith frowned a little.] I thought you guys weren't getting along.

[pidge_out]

We weren't. [Pidge shrugs a shoulder, and though her smile looks a little less bright it's still there.]

He made Little Green as a peace offering, I think. He figured I'd want one after I caught him working on it.

[Keith chuckled.]

Well, that's one way to get your attention, I suppose.

That's pretty cool, though. What does it do?

[Freya is on another trash heap and while she isn't really that far away, she is also digging through stuff and tossing some of it into a large box at her side.]

I'm collecting parts for random things. Can I send you a list-ish so if you see anything you can snag it for me?

[Oh! A fellow dumpster diver. Pidge can absolutely appreciate that.]

Yeah, sure! Shoot the list over, I might even already have some of it. [With a grin, she gestures back at her pile of Stuff.] I've been picking up almost anything that's still more or less functional.

Awesome! I have to be a little more picky but that's mostly because I don't know what all of this stuff is.

[If it looks functional she'll take it, if she doesn't know what it is she won't... unless it looks very cool.]

I could probably show you sometime, if you want. Are you new to the Fleet or to- [Pidge gestures vaguely with a hand, offering a crooked smile.] -space travel in general, or what?

[She tosses a rather large scrap of metal behind her before the long messy blond hair comes back into the video.]

I've been here for a month or so. Already really antsy. I haven't ever traveled this much while feeling like I'm not traveling. I've decided that I don't like it but the making of dominoes has been helping.

[Of all the requests Pidge expected to get... That wasn't one of them. But hey, it's not a bad request by any stretch of the animation.

But Pidge does have to snort a little, amused.]

Absolutely. If I find the right stuff, building one that can even auto-steam milk at the same time it brews should be easy.

What stuff do you need? I've been scrapping like my life depended on it, hoping to turn a profit. [Or really, hoping to buffer his ship because the paranoia about being sucked out into space at any given moment is too much. That and he has no idea how good the self-repair system is.]

It's not so much for me as my crew. Gotta fancy up the kitchen here as much as possible.

Well- [And here Pidge is going to list off some key components she would need, ticking them off on her fingers. It's pretty obvious Pidge knows exactly what to do, one way or the other.] ... Though if worse comes to worst I might be able to make whatever I need just out of scraps, or even just rig something else to make it work.

So is your crew super picky about food or something?

[Well shit. He's taking notes, but none of that made sense to him. He's a wizard, not a nerd.

Yeaaaah, I'll try my best, homie, but I'm from a fantasy world, so none of that made sense.

But my crew is worse than picky - they don't care. They have Istus' gift to food on their ship and none of them care. It's a tragedy.

[Someone putting out an offer for tech projects? That's too good for Eugene to pass up. He returns the video call from his kitchen, still in his apron with sleeves rolled up.]

Hey, probably a little stone age for you, but my leg needs a tune-up. [He turns the camera down toward his left leg. From mid-thigh down, it's all bare-metal prosthetic, hinge knee ending in a curved metal foot. It's definitely seen some wear since Hiccup made it more than year and a half ago] All I can trade is home-cooked meals, but whatever you want, I'll try to scare it up.

[Pidge's eyes kind of light up when she sees the leg. Prosthetics! A bit primitive, yes, but if it functions well enough as a leg, who is she to judge?]

I can definitely make a pass at it. [She grins, equal parts excited by the prospect and amused by the leg's simplicity.] Do you just wanna keep it functional, or could I interest you in an upgrade or two?

See - I think I like having an everyday leg that's pretty basic. Keeping it working isn't much harder than servicing a bike. So if we're talking upgrades, we might be talking . . . a second leg.

[A beat, just to gather together his best offer in trade, but - teenager, geeky enough, embarking on a build-a-thon as long as they're planetside?]

This is probably the part where I mention I've gotten pretty good at making pizza and frappuccinos.

Okay. [She nods at that, still smiling. Though even just seeing that a prosthetic leg might be a necessity for someone in the Fleet has her deciding that that's something to look into more. After she's done with Shiro's arm.] Basic and functional it is.

[Pidge very nearly squeals. Pizza and frappuccinos? Buddy, where have you been all of Pidge's life.]

I could totally go for pizza and frappes! [Coffee. Caffeine. Blissful, blessed energy.] You'd really make some for me if I help with your leg?

[He knows they have credits, but what can he say. There's just that personal touch of the barter system.]

Fair warning now, it is barbecue pizza. Or curry pizza, if that's your thing. But Atroma still hasn't hooked me up with tomato sauce.

Have you found anything that may prove useful for Shiro's new arm?

[Ah, Ulaz. Right on time and direct as usual. Pidge has to appreciate that.]

That's a big part of what I've been doing out here. [She turns back down to her piles of stuff, pulling out a variety of parts and laying them out carefully on the ground right in front of her.] And I've actually been pretty successful so far. Lots of good parts for the skeleton and basic foundation. Obviously enough metal for the plating. And plenty of scrap we can use to build anything we can't find.

[She gestures to all the parts once she's laid them out, moving to bring the camera closer so Ulaz can see. She's definitely found a lot of useful items, but she's not lying about having to resort to rebuilding some of the more complex pieces they'll need from scratch.]

[He can't be faulted for trying to make small talk when there is something important to talk about at least]

It looks like you found a lot. That is good. I've been looking as well and have collection that we can sort through to see what will work. Wiring mostly, but anything that looked useful.

Unfortunately it seems unless larger pieces appear and have not been scavenged by others, building it from scratch is probably going to be our only option. Which adds more time, but also gives us better control over it.

[Pidge looks far too pleased with that little compliment. She blames the pure joy she's experiencing at having so much to toy with.]

Wiring's necessary, don't sell it short. We'll need as much of that as we can get.

[And then she straightens slightly, looks first toward the sky and then out toward where the entrance to the junkyard is with a slight sigh.] And... I'll keep an eye out for larger pieces that haven't been picked clean.

It is. I'm pleased to have found as much as I have. And longer pieces too so that we can cut them to fit.

[Those he was very happy with. Some were long enough they could get several out of one if they needed to cut them]

I've been looking for those too. I haven't found much luck unfortunately. Smaller pieces are everywhere. I don't think they want to go through the bother of picking them up.

If we do need to buy a larger piece and it fits what we are looking for, I do have money to contribute towards purchases.
