New Dragon Experiences

Wonderduck

[Shin-Ah's first experience with confetti has him completely startled. So the first thing he does when there's strange noise and suddenly things flying at him is duck and cover. Which means someone might find him just crouched holding his head while he wonders what is attacking him. He doesn't have his sword so he's not entirely sure how to fight it.

Seriously. He's never seen this stuff before. Please send help. He needs it SO BADLY.]

Iskaulit

[After the scare on the Wonderduck, Shin-Ah can be found wandering the Iskaulit. Really he's familiar with the layout so he's not actually lost. (He can see through walls, guys. He knows where he's going.) However, it probably looks like he's lost. Because Shin-Ah will be walking one way then stop and look around before randomly picking another direction.

Should he go here? What about here?

In truth, he's on his way to the forge that he saw. He's just exploring on his way there so he can know the layout of this place well to know where everything is. It just seems like a good idea right now.]

[Interesting, so he can see, but not absorb the light from it. That's...weird. Taako wonders if he can see color through walls or if it's just outlines and general shapes now.]

Hm. Well, then protip - if someone's got an illusory wall up? It general means "don't look here, go the fuck away." You're lucky I didn't Scorching Ray your ass.

[He doesn't know a lot about magic or illusions really.

Anyway, he picks up a paper that the other probably wasn't going to be able to see and hands it to him as he stands up again.]

If I were stuck? I would have blasted my way out.

[He takes that paper too, folding it up and sticking it into his pocket.]

And if you tell anyone you saw me behind an illusory wall, I'll blast you. [He sounds very cordial as he threatens the newbie's life.]

No offense, I just need these little...experiments to stay secret, capiche?

[He's not sure how he is supposed to have known someone could easily free themselves from being stuck like that. He did just meet this person.

But okay.

And he nods. Why would he tell anyone? It's not that big a deal really in his mind. Just someone doing things in private. People do that all the time.

Note that he doesn't look the least bit intimidated nor threatened.]

You really don't get the whole "threat to your life" thing, do you?

[That takes like...20% of the fun out of this.]

[He was listening. He's just not intimidated by you. Sorry, Taako.

Plus he won't tell so what reason would he have to even be scared? Okay and he doesn't ever really care so much about his safety in comparison to the safety of others.]

[Taako sighs and shrugs. Good enough. As long as the message is received. This guy is so blase about everything, Taako is tempted to blast him into space just to see a reaction.]

So what's your name, Magic Eye?

[A pause.]

They are Dragon Eyes.

[Not a Magic Eye. This person really likes weird nicknames for some reason. He can't figure out why though.]

[Shin-Ah? How about Shiny.]

Never heard of a dragon's eye being able to sneak a peek at undies before, but sure, you do you, I guess. Does it get you in a lot of trouble? Because it seems like the thing that would get you in trouble.

[He lifts his hand up now to touch the mask that he's wearing. A closer look will reveal that there aren't actually eye holes despite the black.]

The mask was to protect from trouble.

[They're definitely talking about two different kinds of trouble at this point.]

Since you're wearing a mask and minus horns of your own, I'm going to guess you're not a Dragonborn. Is it a spell? A curse? Something else? You gotta give me something.

You were spying on me after all.

[However unintentional.]

I'm the Blue Dragon, Seiryuu.

[He thinks that makes him Dragonborn? But apparently that means something different where this person is from. Maybe the legend of the dragons is something else or doesn't exist there.

Then again, he barely knows it himself. He's needed Kija to tell him everything because his village never did.

But yes. He thinks he's giving you quite a bit with that, Taako. He's not quite realizing he needs to use his words more and explain.]

Yeah that tells me nothing unless you've somehow Polymorphed yourself into a human body, my dude. Actual fire breathing dragon or just a title?

[He thinks??????]

I was born Seiryuu. Seiryuu have the Dragon Eyes to see greater and to...kill.

[He looks away at that one. That ability to kill with his eyes is still not a power he's particularly proud of even if he can control it now.]

Bitchin'. [And terrifying? Good thing that mask is on and Taako can Blink out of existence at a moment's notice.]

But definitely not a dragon like I'm used to. No claws or scales for one. Less on the bitey side of things, too.

So as long as you're not going to start claiming treasure for a hoard and burning villages to dust, I'm good.

[You could definitely attempt to, Taako. Of course Shin-Ah has these powers under control but you didn't ask about that part.]

[Too many people have suffered already. He doesn't want to cause more suffering.]

[Huh. Taako tilts his head to one side and watches the man in front of him curiously. He seems genuine about that.

And he hasn't really done anything but been helpful so far - minus the spying thing that caused him to destroy his notes.]

Well lucky you - there's not really anyone here to hurt. Most of the Fleet is practically boring.

[Okay now he's going to look up and tilt his head to the side like a confused puppy. Boring? Here? Have you seen here? There's so much exciting and new stuff to explore!

Then again, he has been under that rock most of his life so...]

[He's trying to be comforting. Really. He's not sure if it's working.]

Taako stops suddenly and then bursts out laughing. It's just too innocent, too obvious of an answer. Of course isn't boring. He's a fully realized creation! Multi-dimensional and with a freaking complicated life right now - not that this guy would know - but having it just said straight out like that makes him laugh, truly honestly laugh.]

Yeah, no shit. But thanks.

I guess, neither are you, Shiny. But next time, try not to stare when you see an illusory wall.

[Maybe he heard his name wrong somehow. Also he doesn't know what he said that was so funny?

And he's not really sure how to say he just sees things?

Maybe he'll just...nod. Nodding seems to be what people like.]

[He heard his name the first time, he's just not using it. Taako smiles and waves a hand dismissively.]

If you see me behind a wall, try looking the other way, huh? I'm a very private person.

[That's...not really how his ability works when he's looking for something. But he just nods. Because that seems to make him satisfied for some reason. He can roll with that.

It's not like he'll tell anyone what he sees. He'll just know where Taako is honestly.

[Taako stares at the man for a moment and then tilts his head to the side.]

You're an odd one, aren't you?

[It's like he doesn't really know how to interact with people. Could be that Taako is simply overwhelming, but the way he just nods without any real sense of understanding is...childlike. ]

You okay there?

[He's been called odd and weird enough that it doesn't phase him. He pretty much will just roll with it.

Though at the second question, he pauses. Because does he look bad? He looks down at himself but there's no injuries or weird things.]

Yes?

[Why is he being asked if he's okay?]

[...Why did he answer with a question? Taako sighs and shakes his head.]

I'm not asking if you're injured, goofus. I'm asking--

[Why does he even need to explain this?]

--I'm asking if you're confused or something? You seem out of it.
