Broadcast

[Biffy comes on screen with a smile as he nods his head politely. Behind him one can see his lovely looking hair salon...the Maison de la Lune.]

Good evening. Given the fact that we are now in the season of Autumn, I felt that it was time to offer a special at my salon for all who wish to partake.

[He steps aside to wave at the interior behind him. It really is very lovely. Elegant even in the simplicity of it. Biffy had really gone out of his way to make sure that the interior design is very classy indeed.]

For this month, I wish to offer a special on makeovers. This will include a hair styling, as well as a scalp massage and a facial. For those interested in cosmetics, I am pleased to say that I can provide makeup for this as well.

[He turns back to the screen.]

I look forward to your patronage at the Maison de la Lune. Thank you.

Maison de la Lune

[Sure enough Biffy is at his shop a lot more this month. (Please don't mind the evenings he isn't. He's probably down on the planet running with his mate.) And whenever he smells someone approach, he is there to greet them with a smell and an impeccable bow. Here in his shop he isn't a Communications Officer, he isn't an Alpha, he isn't a Lord. Here he is just the humble keeper of this salon who is ready to take care of his customer.

So it is with that bow that he will look up, that twinkle in his pretty blue eyes.]

Good evening. May I offer you some tea and you can tell me how I may serve you this evening?

Load off my mind, let me tell you.

[He shifts down until he finds a comfortable position on the basin, then sighs, consciously relaxing into the half-remembered routine of getting the pre-cut wash and condition.]

So were you a hairstylist back home?

No kidding.

[Funny story about coming out the other side of the apocalypse - you actually get pretty used to hearing all kinds of backgrounds from people doing all kinds of very practical work.]

Foregoing the title while you're in the fleet, I take it?

[Eugene is not really a touchy-feely, huggy kind of guy. He doesn't have anyone in the fleet he's close with like that - never has, really - and that works just fine for him with his husband an unknowable distance and time away from him, and a world behind him where he's already lost far too many people he'd gotten attached to.

But that means that it's been awhile since he made contact with anyone past a handshake or clap on the back, and the literal goosebumps that prickle down his spine with the sensation of sure, strong fingertips working against his scalp are as surprising as they are vaguely embarrassing.

It's not like that. It's not anything untoward, it's just . . . more than he's used to. So he handles it like he handles most of the feelings he doesn't really like processing - keeps talking. And tried to keep the off-balance, crooked little grin that keeps trying to squirm its way onto his face to a minimum.]

And the millinery market isn't really booming either, huh. Though maybe Taako would be interested in that.

[He doesn't usually name drop, but there is a zero percent chance that Taako has not already been in here. He is certain of this.]
