Where Trash World Rules Are Concerned
Who: Ulaz and YOU!
Broadcast: N/A
Action: various
When: Anytime while in system
Option 1: Scrapheap
[Ulaz could be found a lot of the time at the piles of junk on this planet. With so many projects to work on and a big one being Shiro's arm so that he didn't have that problem anymore, he needed a lot of supplies. Luckily he was a big guy and not likely prone to people trying to take things from him.
It seemed to be a worth while endeavor at least. He was finding a lot of things that he could use]
Option 2: Blameless
[Some of Ulaz's supplies from scavenging were squirreled away in his room because he didn't want to leave them out. Some, however, had been temporarily moved to the lounge space on the Blameless whenever he found himself with a moment.
From previous discussions with Death over on the Caprine, he had decided to try his hand at building something for Loyalty, Justice's cat. He had taken some time during the drift to read up on the tiny felines - especially since one kept coming in trying to chew on things in his lab - and he was prepared to try a solution that might keep her mildly distracted.
So he was currently seated on the floor of the lounge trying to put together pieces to make something of a "cat tree". There were also length of rope next to him and what must have been once some carpeting, but he wasn't ready for those yet.
Help him? Hinder him? Keep him company while he works? Your call!]
Option 3: Junker Racing
[He had mentioned it to only a few people since he had been here, but Ulaz had, in his youth, been quite a daredevil. Most however, didn't really know that.
But in the course of his investigations of the planet, he found the junker racing. Ah... youth. But he couldn't seem to tear himself away from watching it...]
Closed to Lyall: Arena
[He couldn't quite be sure how of their frequent conversations circled around to it, but it had. Probably the arena had come up somewhere along the line and it had sparked the conversation. Seemed the most likely.
Ulaz had been curious for sometime about the actual physical capabilities of a werewolf, but wasn't sure if it was polite to ask a gentleman when they tried to maintain a certain air eighty-night percent of the time.
Lyall was apparently frustrated after his glitch, as beat up as he had been. Understandable.
So it had been decided they were going to face off in the arena. It was not the venue Ulaz would have thought Lyall would pick, but who was he to complain. It had intrigued him too much to worry about it for too long.
Here they were, in the arena. Ulaz could have worn his full armor, but he had decided to keep it more fair, only the suit he worry under it. It was the most superficial of protection. But it wasn't a slight against what he thought Lyall could do; the tradition of palen bol meant Galra were notorious gluttons for pain, seeing it as an opportunity for growth. He did however have one of his swords. He didn't intend to use it, but if found he did, he'd have it]
Whenever you are ready.

Closed to Lyall: Arena

Whenever you are ready.
[Lyall would have the first move]

Shiro might not approve of this method either, but Ulaz was no stranger to the idea of having to move to get out frustrations and aggression. Punching bags or targets that couldn't fight back only went so far so having someone willing to go at it with was significantly better.
Besides, it is his job to help look after the well being of the Blameless crew. If having only-vaguely-friendly sparring match will help Lyall's emotional state, then that is his job.
Probably is an odd look to this: Lyall still in his full attire. Again, doesn't make much difference to Ulaz. With no other information, he already knows Lyall's advantage is going to be height. He's a bigger target and has to move further for the same strike.
Ulaz watches, keeping his gaze trained on Lyall even as he circles. The movement is quick and he really only has the chance to twist slightly to redirect where he is hit even only slightly. Yep, Lyall is fast and Ulaz can confirm for a fact now he is strong, but undeterred, Ulaz uses the momentum to swing around and aim a kick to Lyall's shoulder]
no subject
Lyall was fast earlier but not at full speed. he was still testing the waters. yet Ulaz managed to move slightly out of the way and not take the full brunt of the blow. Fast reflexes on this size too, in spite of the bigger and more imposing stature. Looks like speed will work, but only if Lyall keeps it unpredictable because his opponent is fast too and if he gets caught, then it will be harder for him to actually escape or evade.
As the kick comes for him, Lyall just ducks to the ground, crouching almost on all fours, and then tries to put some distance between them again. not easy when moving backwards, but he feels like he shouldn't turn his back on Ulaz even if to escape. Too many risks of getting the tail end of one of those too long limbs.]
no subject
Maybe that was a trainer thing and not wanting younger ones to underestimate him or an opponent's willingness to take a shot when they weren't looking.
Lyall easily dodged the kick. Even if Ulaz had changed the direction of kick, Lyall almost crouching on all fours was too low of a redirect. That would have thrown him off balance which would have taken precious seconds to recover from. He's not going to take it easy on Lyall, following as the werewolf tried to put distance between the two of them, taking another swing at him, this time punching out. Because it was a friendly fight in the end, he wasn't aiming for his face at least]
no subject
Now, if Lyall were at a hundred percent, he probably would just take the hit without bothering to parry, because he'd heal from it in an instant. But he definitely isn't at a hundred percent, and his body still sort of hurts everywhere even if he can ignore it most of the time. So he blocks with his arm, but still ends up thrown backwards a few meters.
Which was the whole point, really. Distance. If he can't get him himself, he'll let Ulaz give it to him.
And as soon as his feet touch the ground, he's in movement again, giving a burst of speed that's close to the fastest he can go so he can rush towards Ulaz and then past him and behind him, throwing out a hand to grab the other fighter's belt.]
no subject
Until Lyall does it on his own. He's not surprised the werewolf is as fast as he is. Smaller size sometimes makes for faster targets. Less bulk they had to get moving. Ulaz assumed more of defensive stance... until Lyall went right around him.
Grabbing his belt nearly pulled him off balance, but Ulaz planted his heels. He wasn't sure what Lyall was planning, but he was going to have to work at it]
no subject
It is a bit of an effort, but Lyall, being one of the smallest werewolves still alive, is very, very used to fighting people who are bigger than himself. Not to mention, he's still in human form so while he doesn't have claws or fangs, he can grab and he has more freedom of movement.
And, as Ulaz is about to find out, supernatural strength is no joke. A heave, and Lyall actually picks him up and throws him over his shoulder.]
no subject
Ulaz may have been hard to surprise, but he was very much surprised as Lyall suddenly picked him up. No, it was not an entirely easy feat, but the significantly smaller werewolf did get him off the ground.
At least there was not much time to flounder about as Lyall threw him. Ulaz tucked to roll after hitting the ground. He was quick to get his legs back under him, pushing back almost in a spring and coming right back for Lyall, this time attempting to grapple, pushing his speed to try and keep up with the werewolf]
no subject
In the end, that is still Lyal's usual fighting style, trying to get under his enemy's guard to gain the upper hand. So he tries it again, sidestepping only enough that Ulaz would have to change trajectories slightly to reach him which will give him maybe a second's advantage in trying to move forward and reach him as well.
They have only exchanged one or two blows so far, so Lyall closes his fist to aim once again at Ulaz's midsection, hoping to be able to back out again afterwards. But clearly, Ulaz has started adjusting to his speed.]
no subject
He was expecting Lyall to try and get inside his guard range, including having to change direction to do it. He still has to suddenly put on the brakes in order to not end up passed Lyall and still facing him.
As Lyall comes in to hit him, he's going to aim for a punch as well to follow up Lyall's, intending to start his punch after Lyall was too committed to his own to pull back]
no subject
It hurts. But it's the kind of hurt that Lyall doesn't mind. It's not inflicted with cruelty or a desire to injure. It just is something between two living beings fighting to stay alive.
Still it might be about of habit that he doesn't cry out. At some point, he had to learn not to. Make as little noise as possible so as not to give your tormentor the satisfaction of knowing they got to you. Make yourself small, but hard as steel and never give in, for as long as you can.
Once again he is thrown backward and ends in a crouch.
When he looks up again, his eyes are not just hazel anymore. There's a hint of gold behind it and his mouth, opening on a snarl, is showing fangs. The sound that comes from his throat, a low, menacing growl, doesn't have anything human to it.
And suddenly, it feels like he's become even faster. He dashes forward again, still low and close to the ground, and this time he goes for the legs to try and trip his opponent.]
no subject
Well, it has caused something of a reaction. When Lyall looks up, Ulaz can see the yellow in his eyes and his mouth is full of fangs. Not to mention the growl.
If this hadn't been the middle of a fight, Ulaz would have been fascinated by the control required for a partial change like that. He also would have been fascinated because he'd never seen even that much in person. The closest he would have been to seeing the change was reviewing security camera footage around the time of full moon and even then he wouldn't have paid much attention.
But this was the middle of a fight.
And Lyall is faster now if that's possible. He can't quite catch Lyall before he sweeps his legs out from under him. He is quick enough to catch himself before hitting the ground hard, instead attempting to roll to the side so he can get his feet back under him]
no subject
This time, a beast is trying to get its prey to stay down, and he jumps to try and pin Ulaz to the ground, jaw snapping. Given their difference in size, it would be absolutely ridiculous if Lyall's strength wasn't much more than what you'd expect of someone his size.
But of course, by doing this, he's also putting himself within range of being grabbed of hit. There's not much else he can do.
If he were fighting another wolf, this would be the time when they really get down until one of them gives up and submit. But Lyall is old enough and powerful enough to keep his head even when changing, and he knows he's not fighting another wolf. He knows how far he can go before pulling back.
He's just not going to pull back until that point, though.
no subject
He doesn't want Lyall to pull back unnecessarily. One, the point was to get Lyall's frustrations out so he could get passed the glitch. The other was that Ulaz's interest was thorough piqued and he genuinely wanted to know which one of them would win in a fight like this... even if the point of this was not to maim the other.
Even though the fangs are intimidating, Ulaz does keep his face carefully level. As he descends, Ulaz makes the effort to throw him, still trying to get to his feet so he could put the distance between himself and Lyall]
no subject
The reason he wins he because he thinks fast on his feet and he adapts quickly.
So this time, instead of allowing himself to be thrown off to create distance, he's hanging on for dear life and instead aiming a kick at Ulaz's stomach.]
no subject
And he is very good at it.
Ulaz takes the kick in the side, bringing his arm down hard trying to dislodge or weaken Lyall's grip without having to risk Lyall catching his other arm and pinning him]
no subject
And this time, he moves slowly as he goes back to his feet. When he looks up again, his eyes are back to their normal hazel color, the fangs are gone, and he wipes off the smudge of dirt on his cheek.
If he took this any further, it would get dangerous for both of them, and that wasn't the point of all this. Still, he is thankful to Ulaz for having indulged him in that bit of selfishness.]
Thank you.
no subject
You're welcome.
[At least it had helped it seemed.
And since they had finished the match, he did what he had learned from Kogarasumaru and gave a bow to his "opponent"]

Are you planning to stay here and fight some more?

I think that I will remain for a bit and see if anyone else wishes to.
