It's Party Time [ Open ]
Who: Jim Kirk & You!
Broadcast: Nope
Action: Yes, Planet-side @ Alloy Lake
When: Sometime in the evening
While it wasn't broadcasted, between how many people were told and the fact it wasn't exactly a private affair on a very public beach, anyone was welcome to come to this little shindig. Kirk's feelings were mostly that they all could use a break and a chance to relax together as friends, family, teammates, or any other word you chose to assign to the relationships you had on the Fleet. It was a nice break from working in projects too. It was nice to have something to occupy yourself in a creative and useful way, but it was always a good idea to take a break and refresh the brain now and then.
Which was how he came to the idea of a party on Alloy Lake.
He scouted a scrap of land near the water to set up on - beach towels, a cooler with drinks, a mocked up grill to cook some food. He went out later in the afternoon to start with more than enough light to enjoy some swimming, though it would be dark soon enough for certain members to join without being uncomfortable. At which point, a bonfire was built. What? A lack of sunlight is never a reason to stop partying! Especially not with such good company.
[ ooc: It's a party on the beach! Make your own starters and have some fun! There's drinks - alcoholic and non - food, a couple of games or make your own, a bonfire later in the night with of course means some kind of smore, swimming, and more. In terms of invite, you can assume you were directly told by Kirk, or told by someone else, or the grapevine. It's open to all, so don't worry to much about it. Have fun! ]

But I stand by my reasoning. It's rancid. I feel like I'm getting dirty just standing here.
no subject
You know how it goes here, make the best of what we got, right? Have a beer and I will make you a bath of pure hand sanitizer later.
no subject
[He snorts, raising his wine glass.]
I'll stick to this, thanks, and I'm pretty sure Felix won't appreciate it if I came back stinking of hand sanitiser.
no subject
I think Felix will make you take a shower anyways when you get back. So why not live a little?
no subject
I think you vastly overestimate how far Felix's love for me goes if you think he'll jump into a shower with me if I smell like that.
no subject
Oh, I didn't mean that - I meant he was going to make you shower before he let you within fifty feet of him.
[ He shrugged and sipped his beer. ]
Way I figure it, the next planet we come to could be full of poison bogs and more cannibals, so why not enjoy a beach while we have, even if it's a touch questionable?
no subject
Honestly, I haven't been bothering much with the planets. Nothing really appeals. I suppose I've gotten a little board of all of this...travelling.
[That and he keeps losing people important to him, and every time one goes, it hurts a little more. Though he doesn't say that out loud, of course.]
no subject
Well, it's been what, five years for you? Six? I can see how it could get bland after so long. I felt like that back on my own ship - back home - about three years in.
[ He just doesn't think about the losing people part. That... well, best not to think about it. Wounds were still to tender on his heart for that. ]
I guess that means you must really like me to venture off the ships for this.
[ He flashed a cheeky grin and nudged Crowley with his elbow. ]

[It's been a long fucking time since he last saw Earth.]
Ugh. Don't get too excited, Flyboy. I'm here out of boredom.
no subject
Hmm, all right, if that's what you say.
[ He gave a shrug. He knew they were friends, Crowley, despite your grumping - or so he liked to think. ]
You want something to eat? It's nothing fancy, but a smore always tastes better straight off a campfire.
no subject
Been a while since I ate one of those.
no subject
Well then, time to end the drought, no?
[ He beamed and started walking towards the fire to pick up one of the treats, the ingredients laid out on little trays ready for anyone to make up a new creation. ]
no subject
[Still he follows, arms folded, looking bored. ]
no subject
Are you always so stubborn about having feelings about things? Even smores?
[ He rolled his eyes, kneeling to stick the marshmallow with the little metal pole and held it out to Crowley to roast. ]
no subject
[That literally no one buys any more but he's stubbornly going to cling to it anyway because he's been doing it for millennia.]
no subject
I do admire your dedication, I have to say.
[ And he does. It takes effort. And also more muscles to frown than smile or look indifferent. But more power to Crowley. ]
no subject
What can I say. I'm a trier.
