[Thor hates this planet, honestly. It's like a worse version of Sakaar, somehow, and he wasn't fond of that place to start with. The only upside Thor can see to Baruut so far is that he wasn't immediately captured and enslaved in a fighting arena.

Kind of a back-handed compliment.

But after his stint on the Marsiva and then spending a week looking after a shockingly young Loki, Thor's ready to put that baggage in the backseat and go look around anyway. He has a couple of items he's on the lookout for. It becomes quickly apparent though that finding a decent item is the harder task. The low quality of most wares annoys him and it's not uncommon to find him standing in front of a stall keeper, shaking an item at them and being loudly indignant.]

Yes, I know that it has clear sight, but if it only sees in green then what's the point of it as an eye?

[Is that an eyeball in his hand? .........yep. Unfortunate.]

b. watch for falling debris

[You're out in the junkyards proper, minding your own business. Doing whatever it is you decided to venture into canyons of rubbish to do. A distant yelp and a thud rings out somewhere above you - and you barely have time to look up before a body comes smashing down into the junk a few metres away, sending scrap metal and plastic spraying everywhere.

The 'body' turns out to be a very alarmed, very dazed junkyard thief. They scramble to their feet and run away shrieking, not looking back at you or in the direction they fell from. Should you decide to look up though, you'll see Thor pop up over the top of a hill-sized pile of rubbish a fair distance away. He waves to you and calls out:]

You should be mindful where you step! There are thieves about.

[ loki raises a hand, glowing bright green. ]

Wouldn't I?

[Wow. So that's how it's going to be.

Thor stubbornly sets his jaw, backing up a couple of paces - before he snags a heavy pile of curtains off the table behind him and throws it in Loki's direction. They're already in each other's faces, it shouldn't take much to cast the whole thing over his brother.]

[ loki snarls, fumbling with the curtains and pulling them off with one jerky motion before throwing the spell at thor. ]

[Thor assumed that was coming. If it hadn't been before he tossed the curtain, it definitely was after. His ploy was for the curtain-bombing to buy him enough time to get on the front foot and attack first.

Which means that as Loki pulls the fabric away and hurls his spell, Thor's already lunging for him with a yell. The spell hits its mark easily-- causing Thor's next step to buckle, and the attempted tackle turns into a pure crash towards Loki.]

[ loki squawks as he goes down, hitting the ground hard with a groan. which won't stop him from cursing thor out. ]

Get off me, you oaf!

[Thor ignores the scattered yelps of surprise from people nearby and focuses instead on scowling at Loki's face.]

Well I can't get up now, can I?!

[His legs, man.]

[dothelokimotion]

[ loki pokes his elbow into his side. ]

It's no less than what you deserve.

[rebuildyourruins]

[Just for that, Thor stubbornly pins Loki's arms down with his own.]

Oh, because I got ahead of your stupid spell? Sounds like your fault, not mine.

[dothelokimotion]

[ loki pushes against them with a hiss. ]

I would not have used that spell if you hadn't decided to throw things at me! What is the matter with you, anyway? Is it so important for you to be right all the time? Didn't you have enough of that before?

[rebuildyourruins]

[That pulls him up short, scowl lessening. With a huff Thor lets Loki go, rolling off of him to the side.]

You were getting ready to use it.

[dothelokimotion]

And? You walk around with a giant axe.

[ but loki negates the spell as he sits up, rolling his shoulders and feeling churlish. it wasn't a major thing, after all, this tiny incident from their childhood. and they're brothers, squabbling is a part of that.

but a part of him aches all the same. it's not thor's fault, but loki often looks back and wonders how much of his recollection holds up. how much was real. maybe thor was right. and loki was, and always has been, wrong.

there's no way around that. ]

Not that often, [Thor mutters. Not here, at any rate. He's not so used to the new axe that he brings it with him everywhere. He sits up himself, rubbing at his thigh absently as Loki sits in silence.]

It doesn't really matter. I stepped on it, you flung spiders at me.

['I wanted Father to see that I was just as worthy'. All of them had chased that as hard as they could. Loki, Thor ... Hela. Thor isn't sure what it even means anymore, if it ever meant something at all. Maybe it's more important what it means to themselves. He rests his arms on his knees and turns to look at Loki once more.]

I did just say I was wrong. About how I spoke to you as a child.

[dothelokimotion]

[ loki's quiet before he exhales. ]

I know. The fault isn't yours. Or anyone's.

[ he finally rises, dusting his clothes. ]

[Thor blinks up at Loki before he gets to his feet as well. For good measure he also picks up the curtain from the floor, shaking the dirt off before handing it back to the rather irate storekeeper.

When he turns back around, he tilts his head at Loki.]

And what is the fault?

[dothelokimotion]

[ his shoulders hunch up unconsciously. ]

It's not — Just leave it be, Thor.

Loki--

[There's a long moment where Thor just looks at Loki, with that air like he wants to fold himself into a corner and not come out, before he just nods once. He turns to look through the marketplace, casting his eye over it without much need to really see it.]

Well, I am not going to look at eyes anymore, but I still have supplies to find. You can join me if you like.

[ loki blinks, some of that tension slipping away. ]

What are you looking for?

[Humming in thought, Thor counts off on his fingers.]

Decent panels of steel, a motor for a refrigerator, electrical cables.

[ he nods. ]

I am looking to phase out the piping on my ship.

The piping?

[It seems like less of a priority to Thor, but maybe the Blue Fish had superior pipes. He starts walking down one of the market lanes, trusting Loki will come along. This area doesn't have any of those items and he's fairly sure most of the storekeepers are glaring at them. For some reason.]

Our piping is external for some . . . bizarre reason. Taako is seeing to the kitchen and I will see to the rest.

Oh yeah, I did notice that.

[Thor taps at some panels as he passes by a stall, frowning at the sound and continuing on without stopping.]

I'm collecting the steel so Taako can turn them into shields for the armoury.

[ he blinks. ]

[He nods in return.]

A few days ago. I said I was looking around for things like that and he suggested it.
