[Thor hates this planet, honestly. It's like a worse version of Sakaar, somehow, and he wasn't fond of that place to start with. The only upside Thor can see to Baruut so far is that he wasn't immediately captured and enslaved in a fighting arena.

Kind of a back-handed compliment.

But after his stint on the Marsiva and then spending a week looking after a shockingly young Loki, Thor's ready to put that baggage in the backseat and go look around anyway. He has a couple of items he's on the lookout for. It becomes quickly apparent though that finding a decent item is the harder task. The low quality of most wares annoys him and it's not uncommon to find him standing in front of a stall keeper, shaking an item at them and being loudly indignant.]

Yes, I know that it has clear sight, but if it only sees in green then what's the point of it as an eye?

[Is that an eyeball in his hand? .........yep. Unfortunate.]

b. watch for falling debris

[You're out in the junkyards proper, minding your own business. Doing whatever it is you decided to venture into canyons of rubbish to do. A distant yelp and a thud rings out somewhere above you - and you barely have time to look up before a body comes smashing down into the junk a few metres away, sending scrap metal and plastic spraying everywhere.

The 'body' turns out to be a very alarmed, very dazed junkyard thief. They scramble to their feet and run away shrieking, not looking back at you or in the direction they fell from. Should you decide to look up though, you'll see Thor pop up over the top of a hill-sized pile of rubbish a fair distance away. He waves to you and calls out:]

You should be mindful where you step! There are thieves about.

Nope. It's impossible.

[He says it with all the conviction of someone who Knows, even though he doesn't. He just assumes.]

Well, I've still got it. You have seen the pool on the Iskaulit, surely?

[He laughs at how absolutely certain Thor sounds.]

Can't argue with that, my man.

[Then he comes to a stop in front of a particularly large and messy pile of junk. Pipes, old AC units, just about everything imaginable is stuffed and overflowing out of this and Taako gives it a quick lookover. This is pretty familiar.]

And are you offering to reprise the swimsuit so I can get a gander? Because if that's true, I'm all for that.

I do go to the pool sometimes. It's not as good as an actual beach though.

[He gives that a half shrug, then turns his attention to the pile they've stopped in front of. It looks like every other pile to Thor. After a moment he glances at Taako.]

What, it's in there?

[Next trip to the Iskaulit, he's finding that damn pool then. It's good to have goals in life.

Taako rubs his chin as he looks over the mountain in front of them. Then he glances up and points - about halfway up.]

Yup, there it is.

[It's half-buried among the rest of the trash, but there's a silver freezer casing definitely sticking out of the trash.]

I just couldn't get something that heavy out of that place so high up, but I'm betting with your upper arm strength, you'll have noooo problem.

[Thor squints up to where Taako is pointing and-- ah, yes. That's definitely what he's looking for. His expression clears. Finding something was the hard part.]

Oh yes, that will be easy enough. [He jogs over to the start of the pile then glances back at the elf.] Though, you may want to step back a bit, in case the whole thing collapses!

[He says it like a cheerful aside, but what a disgusting concept.]

[Wait, what? Collapses?

Taako takes a step back, then another, and just slowly eases himself out of the way.]

If it does, can I count on the God of Luck to save me?

[Thor just raises his eyebrows at him, then looks back at the pile.]

How? I'd have to dive at you.

[Which would likely end up with more rubbish everywhere.]

More like I hope I'm included in your lucky bubble, my dude.

[But just in case? Taako grabs his focus in his bag and casts Stoneskin on himself. If nothing else, this should help with the bludgeoning damage of a potential avalanche.]

Try not to bring the whole thing down if you can help it. Wizards are very squishy.

Sure, I'll try.

[He's saying that while he's already moving, jogging up the gentler slope of the trash pile until that becomes impossible. At that point he switches to leaping for handholds, never struggling to get enough height to find them. Once or twice the item he grabs for doesn't hold and goes spinning down the slope, but it doesn't make him pause.

In very short order he reaches the halfway mark, where the freezer box is poking out. Simply kicking the trash in a bit to get a foothold, Thor hangs off the side with one arm and gives the box an experimental tug with his free hand.]

It's definitely stuck in there. I'll have to rip it out.

[He's very, very glad he has high dexterity right now. Taako carefully sidesteps whenever trash comes rolling own at him, arms crossed as he watches Thor climb his way up.]

Isn't that going to cause all of the stuff on top to fall down though?

[Because he does not want to get buried in garbage, please. He has n idea of what to do in case that happens, but it's still a less than ideal situation.]

It might.

[Thor considers that for a moment before he shrugs and gets a good grip on the freezer box. Between one breath and the next he's hauled on the thing, yanking the box straight out of the condensed layers of garbage. He manages to hang on to it.

Taako was not incorrect though. A section of the higher pile does shift slightly, then shift a lot, before it comes cascading down the side of the hill. Thor takes that as his cue to jump the hell away from the slope entirely, leaping down to the ground ahead of the debris avalanche.]

Here it comes!

[Not reassuring there, bud.

He watches as Thor maneuvers around the freezer box and then hauls it out. The stack leans and then starts to come down just as Thor lands next to him.]

Yeah, no shit! I hope you have a way out!

[He really hopes Thor can get out of his on his own, because Taako is going to do the one thing he can to escape an avalanche of crap falling on him. As the debris starts to hit around him, he Blinks out of this plane and reappears in the Ethereal one. The debris falls around and through him, but it doesn't affect him as long as he stays in here. To Thor, it'll look like Taako just disappears.]

[Thor registers Taako just -- vanishing, next to him. If the situation weren't so abrupt he might have time to be alarmed by it. But there's a tsunami of garbage heading his way and if Taako has teleported away that's his business.

Fortunately, Thor's not here empty-handed. He could weather a hail of objects if he wanted to. Just, well, he doesn't. So he slams that freezer box upright on the ground and ducks behind it in the cavity, right before the debris starts battering the casing. He's going full Indiana Jones with this one.]

[The great thing about Blink is that whatever happens in the Prime Material Plane can no longer reach you. So while the trash flies at him, it can't hurt him. Thor on the other hand? Yeah, sorry buddy, but you're a god and he's just a mere 100+ year old mortal.

But when he sees Thor jam the freezer into the ground and duck behind it, well...He feels a little bad? He can't cast a spell from here though, so as the debris starts to hammer against the casing, he slides in behind Thor and dismisses the spell, popping back into existence without a sound.

Or, well, almost. His hands are already moving as he mutters the last part of the incantation: Otiluke's Resilient Sphere. Before the heaviest of the objects come sliding down, Thor, the freezer, and Taako are encased in a shimmering hemisphere of light. Instead of smashing into the freezer, now the trash is bouncing and thundering harmlessly off the outer wall of the sphere.]

Be a shame to dent that thing in when you just got it.

[--hey, there he is again. This time Thor does start a little, so focused was he on the loud clattering outside the freezer. But the distinct sensation of magic starts to move with Taako's hands.

When the sphere expands around them both and the noise of the debris backs off a few feet, Thor laughs abruptly, just as glad to be out of the barrage as he is to get the assistance.]

I didn't think of that! Thank you. It gives it character, at least.

Too much will keep it from working though, my guy. After all the trouble ya boy Taako went through to guide you here?

[He inspects the outer casing now that the Sphere is in place and isn't too displeased with how it looks. He certainly wouldn't want it in his kitchen now, but for other people, maybe it would be fine.]

Mm, looks like it's still serviceable. Can't say about the inner workings, but the outside isn't cracked.

Yes, that's true.

[Even though Thor sounds mostly unconcerned. He can deal with repairs and such later. Thor rubs his fingers along one of the dents in the edge.]

I'll get it checked out at one of the repair shops. Shouldn't be too hard.

Probably be a good idea anyway. I wasn't able to get a good look at it what with it being all the way up there.

[Maybe it's actually functional for all he knows. And if anything's broken, Taako isn't a craftsman so while he could change the metal into something else, he can't exactly fix it. The garbage flow is slowing and Taako stretches both of his arms over his head.]

You're gonna wanna pick that thing up and get ready to move. Whenever this bubble pops, all that crap out there? [He points to the debris that's formed up around them.] Is gonna come spilling in here.

Right, right.

[Thor grabs the fridge by the edge and hefts it onto one shoulder. He glances around at the debris just waiting to come piling in.]

Ready when you are.

[The mess has stopped moving and Thor is ready, so Taako gets ready to cast in quick succession.]

Alright, then here we go.

[He gives Thor enough of a pause so he knows what's coming and then dismisses the sphere. It pops audibly and the debris quivers for a moment before teetering inward as it loses its support.

Taako disappears in the next instant, Blinking into the Ethereal Plane to avoid the worst of the mess.]

[He's ready for it this time, or at least he has an idea of what to do. As soon as the pop sounds out Thor braces himself then jumps out of the way. He springs up and back a good five metres, landing with a thud on both feet, freezer box and all.]

Not nearly as bad as the whole mountain coming down.

[--he says to thin air, but he figures even if Taako can't hear it, Thor can. He can run commentary.]

[Once everything's settled and Taako's gotten over seeing Thor just Space Jam jump his way clear of the debris pool, he Blinks back into existence at Thor's side.]

Helps when you only have a little bit of trash instead of a massive mountain of it falling at you.

[aka yes he heard you, Thor.

Taako dusts his clothes off and inspects them just to make sure there's been no tears, rips, or stains added anywhere. Looks like he's good to go.]

Anything else I can do to help ya out there, handsome? Because if not, I'm going back for a loooong soak in a nice hot tub away from all [he gestures around them at the scrap heaps] this.

[A little more expected this time -- though Thor had been looking the other way, so he turns around abruptly at the noise.]

Yeah, that would do it.

[He shakes his head, hefting the freezes a little up his shoulder.]

You've done plenty already! Thank you for the help, Taako. I'll put this to good use.

[Seeing a guy just heft a freezer unit as easily as a bag of potatoes is kind of hot. He's not usually the type to go for the brawn, but hell, you'd have to be blind and dead not to appreciate Thor.

Taako smirks and gives the god a little salute.]

Hit me up- not, like, physically hit, you know, I'd die - but message me if you're interested in getting more of those little shields outta me. Ain't gonna be fancy, but I'll never turn down good coin.

[He turns and waves over his shoulder as he saunters away back the way they originally came. Time to get off planet and into a bath.]
