Who: Alucard + You
Broadcast: Yes!
Action: SS Red Fish
When: Right now!

[ broadcast. ]

[ when alucard woke up, he saw metal and wondered briefly if he was trapped in another coffin. but clarity comes soon after and he notices the bright, strange lights. similar to the kind that reside in his father's castle but . . . better developed. smoother, even. alucard rises into the air before letting his feet touch the ground. strange as this may seem, alucard isn't one to panic. answers will come and he will find them. at the very least, this does not seem to be his father's work.

one could consider that a mercy.

after some time, alucard finally finds the communicator and manages to turn it on. people would notice immediately that he is extremely pale and handsome. they would also notice he's bare chested. when he speaks, it's polite and soft. ]

Greetings.

[ a pause as alucard wonders if it is working. still he forges on. ]

I seem to be missing a few of my clothes. Particularly my shirt. Where might I find some?

[Adrasteius. Close but not quite, and not the word he wanted anyway, but old habits die hard-- he usually tries to use Father now.]

I think it would take real effort to be a burden in this place. There is something in your neck-- don't touch it-- that gives you the information you need to do your job, supposedly. Mine only tells me how to cook the slop they give us, so it's less useful than a pilot's.

[He blinks.]

The... who? I am a blood elf-- formerly a high elf. The distinction is somewhat recent.

[This man has incredible self control. Belthazar has days where he wants to knife the damned thing out.]

Lucky, then, that I've met plenty of humans.

[He's surprised at the taller part, and secretly very pleased.]

We have a few stories about wood and water sprites. They can't help their nature.

I did until you said that just now. [His ears twitch.] You're probably not a half elf, despite your resemblance to my adoptive father. So that leaves the question of what else you could be.

You know of my ancestry. It's only fair to share.

[Understandable, all things considered.

Belth blinks once. Twice. And then:]

A what? Like the... little bats with the pig noses? That feed on carrion?

[Warcraft is wild.]

We don't have anything else called a vampire on my world. But if you need to feed on blood, then I do understand that.

[... Come to think of it, maybe Eithan did mention that term that at one point. His memory isn't the best; so much time has passed since he was last here.]

In a few ways, I suppose...

[Darker, maybe a little wistful:] I wish I had a shortcut.

My kind are called blood elves, but not because we need blood. All elves on my world are nourished by mana-- magic energy. Without it, we wither and die in agony.

I would not like to see anyone suffer that same fate. If you have the opportunity, you should ask for donors. I think you would be able to find a few.

It's true. We can't help what we are any more than a dragon can help being made of the stuff. Magic is magic.

[He rubs at his face, not wanting to dwell on this fact for too long.]

Whatever the case, I am something of a cook if the slop that comes out of the machine doesn't meet your standards. I don't mind helping a little-- I've got plenty of time.

[He's so... nice... what the hell...]

Everyone should have the chance to eat like a noble.

[Belth actually smiles a little, though he's too shy to look up when he does it.]

I've worked in a few magisters' kitchens in my time.

[His pale cheeks pinken, but he hopes it's not too obvious... He's not used to compliments or flattery.]

A-- a fair question, considering how long elves live. I'm nineteen, though I haven't stopped aging yet. It'll probably be a few years before that happens.

I'm... somewhat petite, so I know I look younger, but... Your calm manner led me to think you were a little older than that.

There's no telling age when non-humans are involved, is there?
spellsteal: (judging.)

[personal profile] spellsteal 2018-11-04 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
So they did. [He's fascinated now.] Wait, you aged quicker? Usually it's the opposite.

Still, you must have been extremely curious and astute as a child, growing up like that... Did you read like your life depended on it, too?
