[ when alucard woke up, he saw metal and wondered briefly if he was trapped in another coffin. but clarity comes soon after and he notices the bright, strange lights. similar to the kind that reside in his father's castle but . . . better developed. smoother, even. alucard rises into the air before letting his feet touch the ground. strange as this may seem, alucard isn't one to panic. answers will come and he will find them. at the very least, this does not seem to be his father's work.

one could consider that a mercy.

after some time, alucard finally finds the communicator and manages to turn it on. people would notice immediately that he is extremely pale and handsome. they would also notice he's bare chested. when he speaks, it's polite and soft. ]

[ a pause as alucard wonders if it is working. still he forges on. ]

I seem to be missing a few of my clothes. Particularly my shirt. Where might I find some?

[she nods, and settles into where she's sitting, like she's preparing to give a long explanation]

Do we have any idea of where we are? Or when? Are there any dates or a year?

[she shakes her head]

Some manner of the future, at least for most here. I'm from the year 2016 and it isn't this advanced yet in my world. We know the names of the planets we stop at, but never where exactly in the universe or what universe we're in, either. It's never anything anyone from Earth would be familiar with.

And nothing has been recorded?

Everything on the Network has been archived, and people keep records, yes. I can show you what I have, from the months I've been here.

But not in the sense that you can look up where we are, no. Nothing like that, if that's what you meant.

Tell me. Are there any vampires in this Fleet?

[she means that. She doesn't even blink at his question]

Not that I know of, but if there are they've been quiet about it. I try to keep an eye out for non-humans when I can.

Are there many? . . . Non-humans as you say.

[dreamvour]

[she quirks a smile] It seems nicer than "creatures".

And there's a number of us. I'm not too sure on the number, though, because people come and go all the time. All different kinds.

I suppose it is.

But not many vampires.

[dreamvour]

Mmm. You would have to ask around. [she tilts her head] Or would you be able to tell?

[ his lips curve slightly. ]

It is rather hard to hide our fangs.

Yes, but not everyone is that observant. [she sounds amused] I meant sense.

No. We do not have senses to seek out our own kind, though our other senses might help.

[dreamvour]

I see. [her head tilts again, the other direction. She looks interested] Then mm, you would have to ask around.

[a pause, and then:] They used to do a blood drive every month, so I think vampires used to be here, at least. It didn't sound like something that was done just for human benefit.

[ananym]

I am only half. So I only need a little, not much.

[ he doesn't need the large quantities a vampire might desire. and there is no desire or thirst in him. ]

[dreamvour]

Can you drink blood that isn't human?

[ananym]

Of course, but it is less sustainable.

[dreamvour]

Ah. Well, if you need any in an emergency, you're welcome to find me. [a shrug] I don't know what my blood would be considered. This isn't my real form.

I mean, I'm not using it.

Ah. I do not think I've ever met one, though I have read about them.
