Marsiva
[Lord Akeldama had woken not long before. He didn't feel quite like himself. He couldn't tell what was doing it more: the strange pain in the back of his head or the fact that he had essentially been ripped from his territory.

It was... different still somehow than it normally would have been.

He didn't necessarily feel like trying out this new gadget they had been given just yet so he stood by the large window looking into the blackness of space. He had always looked at it from the ground. This is what it looked like up close]

First Breath
[All of this moving around was not doing the vampire any good. Didn't they know that a vampire needed his territory in order to be settled. First one ship and now another. This was most inconvenient.

Hopefully, the moving between ships had stopped. He needed a few days to settle in, for his head to accept this ship has "his territory". He'd do better once that happens.

However, this other ship seemed to be more to his liking. The style wasn't quite what he'd do with his own house, but it was close enough and he wasn't going to scoff at it. So much better than that other ship.

So rather sitting alone in that tiny room they called a cabin, Lord Akeldama made his way to kitchen, sitting quietly by himself for the moment]

[Finally feeling more the thing, Lord Akeldama decided to go exploring this ship called "the Iskaulit". It certainly looked like there was more space there than on the other ships. He was right about that and was quite happy to go exploring, to see what sort of spaces there were available to the Fleeters.

He's probably not too subtle, dressed in plum colored evening jacket, gold waistcoat, high heeled boots, and a cravat of a different shade of purple that still seemed to compliment both the waistcoat and the jacket]

[Lord Akeldama has found himself a rather pleasing looking spot to make his post. It wouldn't do to have it look poorly behind him after]

Good afternoon, fellow passengers of this thing called "the Fleet". As I understand it, we are all trapped this positively wonderful place as part of a farce. Am I correct in this assessment? Is there anything else that I should know?

Our "hosts" likely have some measure in place for you to remain functional physically, if you have a health concern.

If there is a medication you require, they may already have provided it to our storage.

It seems they do. I am beginning to notice they have accommodated for my... I suppose unusual needs.

Oh, dear, traditional medicines will not help. This is essentially my mind trying to find it's place in a new location. Time will help more than medicine. Besides, if I am injured, I assure you I don't need to be worried about.

You may find yourself with more time than you expect, if you are used to a busier life.

Well, for myself... not so busy, but my drone-y-poos keep my humble abode exciting.

I take it by the offer for medicinal treatment, you, my dear... are the medical officer for this ship?

[He earns the very slightest of shrugs for that deduction.]

Oh, and the captain too? I wouldn't have thought the captain would be a medical officer.

It would be very unlikely you will see me in that regard. Vampires are immortal and nearly impossible to mortally injure.

They are merely assignments designated to us by our captors. In the end, they matter little.

[She does not think Loki cares much for his designation, otherwise he would not have made his bid for Captaincy.

Still, that's quite a bold claim.]

I suppose that is true. But given what I know of military forces, the captain usually is not a medical officer; I was taken aback.

[He doesn't much care for his designation, but it seems to suit him at least]

There is one thing capable of killing a vampire. If it is not this object, a vampire can heal from injuries in a matter of minutes to hours on their own. Provided one is not suffering from starvation, mind you. Like it never happened.

You are correct. In this case, however, the designation of "Captain" can be assigned at random or to whomever desires that position. Loki comes from a race of gods, so of course, he would act accordingly to ensure his elevation here.

[Better him doing so than her, but she was accustomed to having a minimized role, for all she could do.

As for the information he provides, she does find that very interesting. Especially since he is being mostly forthcoming about himself. Or perhaps simply proud of his circumstances. Bad movies and human textbooks were not really as informative, but she did know a bit about... energy dependency.]

So as long as your surroundings remain stable as well as your diet, you would remain content and not pose a danger to others?

Loki? ...Loki... [He says it as though he is wracking his brain for a possibility of who this "god" Loki may be, if he would have known.

Well, it makes perfect sense that a god would want such status, even if it is hardly what should be afforded.

Exactly, my dear. I am gentleman and a gentleman who is also a vampire does not go about biting willy-nilly. It is unseemly and would have all of the gossip rags talking.

You would have more to be concerned about than just bad... publicity. One could hope that our hosts are cognizant of that and will not seek to disrupt you any further than you have been.

[Granted, if they wanted ratings, the hosts would do what they wanted depending on circumstances, and were not to be trusted with anything. Therefore:]

... perhaps we should not trust them fully with keeping with these conditions consistently favorable. Are there any other measures that should be taken to ensure your stability?

I hope not, my dear. The move between the Marsiva to here has caused me to be fuzzy, but it is not as bad as I would have thought.

They have provided me with these- [He pulls out a small pill from his waistcoat pocket] little things to replace my need to drink blood. They seem to work sufficiently enough. I should notice if they start not being capable, I will need to find a donor.

I am old enough to know when that is happening.

I would suggest that you get some plans together as soon as possible.

[As much as those could also be disrupted by any means, but this isn't the S.S. Paranoia for nothing.]

Things can change without warning, particularly when glitches are concerned.

[Oh good. He's on the right ship then]

Is that so? I will have to work on that then. I am still trying to understand what they have done. It is terribly confusing. It should not be this way after having been immortal for as long as I have.

[Does it sound like a hint of annoyance is coming through those words? Because it is]

The Atroma have provided you with whatever adjustments you need to adapt and survive here, physically. Through which means it was achieved I know not--it has not been easy to study these augments they have applied in truth.

[Her own tone remains even, smooth over a hint of her own irritation, but she understands; certainly, he should be upset about it, given the disruption to his lifestyle.]

Mentally... I cannot say how long it will be for you to adapt.

A shame. They have at the very least messed with my healing abilities. Something such as the augment should never have been able to be implanted.

[He sighs, bringing his annoyance back down. There was nothing anyone in the fleet could do about it. The people who could were out of reach of them]

It is quickly getting better. Shouldn't be more than a day or so that I am myself again.

Then let us hope that is the case.

[Being displaced did no one any favors, but being displaced while having certain needs and requirements was another.]

I certainly do. I don't like feeling fuzzy.

Not leaving this ship for a few days will help. Vampires must have an established territory so I do not wish to confuse myself.

What will occur if you do not?

[Since he was being so forthcoming with this information, better to be safe than sorry.]

[He has no reason to not answer her questions. None of this was really a secret to anyone that had an inclination to learn about the supernatural set. And she is the lab support, one of two who'd be the first to have to worry if something should happen]

That would be an impossible question to answer because heretofore a vampire has never not been able to establish territory. It happens naturally, like breathing.

[He sighs]

If that doesn't happen, I could potentially have this nagging feeling of being in the wrong place the entire time I'm here. I also risk establishing territory somewhere else, which would mean if its in the fleet, I would have no choice but to change ships.

[He leaves out the what happens if its on a planet part...]

I don't think we will have to worry about anything greater than that. There is no danger here that is so great.

[And he hopes it remains that way. He should not like to have people witness him swarm]

The hosts may not allow you to get too comfortable, or a glitch may affect you.

[Anything could change. For his sake, hopefully not, but it couldn't be ruled out entirely either. Particularly if there was anything greater to be hinted at.]

But you have only just arrived, so for now... things may as well remain stable for a time. There is that possibility.

It sounds like they have the answer for everything, these Atroma, including how to keep us on our toes.

[Even if she wasn't exactly a social person, it wasn't as if she didn't move around the ship from time to time.

She glances toward the cat, who had been roaming about during the talk.]

[She reaches down a hand, and the cat lopes forward to press his nose to the tips of her fingers, earning a light rub to his ears.]
