001 video and action
Who: Akeldama and you!
Broadcast: Yep!
Action: Marsiva, First Breath, and Iskaulit
When: Beginning of November
Marsiva
[Lord Akeldama had woken not long before. He didn't feel quite like himself. He couldn't tell what was doing it more: the strange pain in the back of his head or the fact that he had essentially been ripped from his territory.
It was... different still somehow than it normally would have been.
He didn't necessarily feel like trying out this new gadget they had been given just yet so he stood by the large window looking into the blackness of space. He had always looked at it from the ground. This is what it looked like up close]
First Breath
[All of this moving around was not doing the vampire any good. Didn't they know that a vampire needed his territory in order to be settled. First one ship and now another. This was most inconvenient.
Hopefully, the moving between ships had stopped. He needed a few days to settle in, for his head to accept this ship has "his territory". He'd do better once that happens.
However, this other ship seemed to be more to his liking. The style wasn't quite what he'd do with his own house, but it was close enough and he wasn't going to scoff at it. So much better than that other ship.
So rather sitting alone in that tiny room they called a cabin, Lord Akeldama made his way to kitchen, sitting quietly by himself for the moment]
Isakulit
[Finally feeling more the thing, Lord Akeldama decided to go exploring this ship called "the Iskaulit". It certainly looked like there was more space there than on the other ships. He was right about that and was quite happy to go exploring, to see what sort of spaces there were available to the Fleeters.
He's probably not too subtle, dressed in plum colored evening jacket, gold waistcoat, high heeled boots, and a cravat of a different shade of purple that still seemed to compliment both the waistcoat and the jacket]
Broadcast
[Lord Akeldama has found himself a rather pleasing looking spot to make his post. It wouldn't do to have it look poorly behind him after]
Good afternoon, fellow passengers of this thing called "the Fleet". As I understand it, we are all trapped this positively wonderful place as part of a farce. Am I correct in this assessment? Is there anything else that I should know?

Lord Akeldama? It's a pleasure to meet you. I am Princess Allura.

Your Highness, it is an honor! I was unaware we had royalty in our midst.
[He doesn't seem at all put off by it, more giving proper credit. He was after all in the presence of Queen Victoria now twice a week even if only for a few moments]
If you have any questions for me, do not hesitate to ask.

Several, as it seems, though such titles don't always hold the same weight across realities.
[ Which is mostly reason she's abandoned it. Still... ]
I have actually noticed that we use similar time conventions on the Fleet as Earthling's do, which was surprising considering how unlikely and odd they were in my universe. Is it true that there are twelve phoebs--months in a year?

Yes, my dear, there are twelve months in year. A rough estimate would be 30 days in a month, but it does vary.

Such a...curious timescale. Twelve and thirty?
#thingswegoogleforrp
The Greeks originally had a 10 month calendar, but the year didn't line up properly with the seasons. Two more months were eventually added to end which balanced out the year. Now it starts in winter and ends in winter.
Now there were 29 days in a month to align with the moon since this is the average time between the full moons. This also didn't work with the year, too much time unaccounted for. They tried adding a 13th month but that just got too confusing. So now there are an average of 30 days.
For three years out of four, the number of days in a month doesn't change. Because a year is actually a 365 and quarter of a day long, every four years, the month of February has an extra day.
SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG but bless you
...But then you could just as easily have it that half of the phoebs--months are 37 days while the other half are 36.
[ She frowns. ]
This seems overly complicated.
