[Victor finally changed out of the striped suit he'd been wearing when he arrived. Not knowing if there was a proper medical uniform, he went with blue scrubs. Seemed like a safe bet. His hair is still darkened, since he didn't want to waste resources getting hair dye. And he's already made himself at home in the Heron's sick bay]

So I finally made it onto a space ship. I want to be excited about it. We're going to be out there exploring new worlds, discovering new life, boldly going and all that. And yet... [He sighs] This isn't really how I thought it'd go. Though if this is some ridiculous reality show, it would figure that they did it this way. Increasing drama, I guess.

Crew of the Heron, I'm your new medical officer. Or doctor or whatever it's called here. I'll keep my office hours flexible if you need anything. I've heard a lot of stories about living and working on a star ship. In spite of everything, I'm looking forward to it.

[And with that, he sets about cataloging all the stuff in the sick bay so he knows where all the medicine and equipment is. He doesn't know whether or not any of his new crew will come by, but he'll keep the door open for them just in case]

[He nods, making note of it. There is something to be said for having a healer around, and he was starting to miss Stitches.]

Nice. And I meant the thing the Atroma put in your head, it lets you know how to use things.

Sort of takes the fun out of figuring it out on my own, but I can understand wanting us to have all the knowledge right away.

Trust me, you get really good at not thinking about it.

[A pause.]

Or you don't and it drives you crazy. I'd go with the first option if I were you.

Yeah. I'm not too keen on going crazy.

Sometimes going a little crazy's not too bad, as long as there are a lot of bad guys in the way, right?

That's the truth. You get many of those out here?

Not many, no, and that's not a complaint.

[Well, it's mostly not a complaint anyway.]

Limits how many guys I get to hit, though.

[And he really likes hitting things, Victor.]

Ever consider hitting a large tractor tire or one of those huge animal carcasses? That's what they do in those boxing movies.

Nah, neither of those are like actually fighting a guy, you know? Training's more than just physical strength.

I can understand that. I was training back in the Quarantine so I could join on exploration missions. Hopefully that work pays off here.

Training, huh? What were you training in?

I did a lot of running. Lifted weights, used the shooting gallery, anything that would let me stay on missions.

[The Bull nods at that, crossing his arm.]

What kinds of missions?

Exploring labyrinths, going out beyond the Quarantine, things like that. We were attacked by creatures once and I wanted to be more prepared should that happen again.

Shit, sounds like my kind of place.

[He nods, though.]

If you want a sparring partner, I'm always up for a fight, doc.

I'm not sure I'm read for an opponent of your skill, but thanks for the offer.

[He laughs at that, crossing his massive arms across his equally massive chest.]

Don't worry, Doc. I'll go easy on ya. It's not like I've never trained anybody before.

All right. I guess I can give it a try.

[The Bull laughs at that, nodding.]

That's the spirit, Doc. Tell you what, I'll let you get settled in, and we'll talk later.
