It was crazy. Even the Frostbacks weren't quite this much when I ventured them. But there wasn't such a sweet reward for scaling them either.

Well, there was a reward of sorts but it wasn't for me. We were looking for the Sacred Ashes. They were said to have miraculous curative properties, which the Arl of Redcliffe needed. He was in a bad way and no traditional medicine was working on him.

Ah, I see. That's a good reason to go so far afield. Did you find these ashes in the end?

We did, luckily. After a pretty gruesome time getting to them. [They literally had to go through a dragon, and then a gauntlet designed to be physically and emotionally draining to get to them.] Thank the Maker they actually worked.
