lup | ota
[Lup is still slightly low on funds, in part because of the private network project (though Taako had helped buff her bank a bit with their last wager) and because she'd spent some of what she'd recouped on mending her violin and getting supplies for it, so she's looking to make some cash. The easiest way is to make herself available near the areas where her services might be needed, so she's parked near a fire with a cup of cocoa inside of a lodge that acts as a hub for various hunters, near the outskirts of where the best game can be found. Beside her is a sign, in big, bold letters:
TRACKING BEAST FOR RENT
fee based on chosen form and prey
She looks bored, please hire her; she's very reasonable.
Those out in the field hunting solo might notice something unsual flying overheard. Is that an ice dragon? What the hell. Careful not to get squished!]
( a-2; )
[She's also going to be visiting the ice caverns to mine for precious gems, both for money and spell components, because hell yeah. You might just run into her deep below where they really rare stuff can be found- she's impossible to miss, what with both hands out in front of her, spouting fire like dual flamethrowers. She's grinning wildly, obviously having fun with it.]
Coming through, watch your hair!
( b. music and food, her favourite; )
[Once she has some extra money in her pocket, that means Lup can focus on having a bit of fun, getting more artsy, indulging in the culture here. She spends some time exploring the local kitchens, working alongside the very-cheerful cooks to learn new recipes. She's happily baking all the things, handing out samples to nearby folks, taking notes and eating a bit of everything she can get her hands on. This place is awesome.
Eventually she finds a nice tavern with a house band, and she's brought her violin with her expressly for this purpose. She sits down, orders something to drink, pulls out her instrument, and just... plinks quietly along with whatever song they're playing, trying to learn the chords as she goes, losing herself in the music for a while. It's been a long time, and it's nice to enjoy something so simple, when life's been complicated for so long.
Want to catch her in a more quiet or introspective mood? Here's where to do it.]
( c. visiting that giving tree thing; )
[It takes a while for her to get around to it, but eventually her curiosity gets the better of her and even Lup ventures into the deeper caves to find the tree herself, following the rumours and the overwhelming sound of the magic here to reach her destination. Once she's there, though, she... doesn't really know what to do with it. She hadn't brought anyone with her, hadn't done any especially good deeds lately, and she hates admitting any of the issues she's been carrying around since her arrival - no, for decades, if she's being really honest - even if it's only to a goddamn tree. So for a while she just examines it, touching the trunk, feeling the magic, trying to get a sense of what it is or what it wants.
When that gets her nowhere, she just... huffs, frustrated, and goes to skip stones across the glowing surface of the icy water near the tree instead. Maybe eventually she'll work up the courage to say something to it. Or maybe someone else will come along and give her a distraction, so she won't have to think about it anymore.]
( c-2; )
[After returning from the tree, Lup spends the night in a bar, miserable, and getting very, very goddamned drunk. Approach with caution.]
( d. wildcard; )
[Lup's going to be around and all over. Feel free to pester at will!]
a-2.
Thanks to the luminescent atmosphere Connor hasn't bothered with a light himself, which means he isn't all that noticeable when Lup comes flaming through. Not the best situation to be in. He is however very quick to skirt backwards up against the cave wall, out of the way of the arcs of fire. His LED blinks red for a few alarming seconds before he's reasonably sure she's not, you know, aiming for people with those things. (Her hands?) It bleeds back to yellow as he calls across the chamber, making sure she can hear his kind of testy tone.]

c-2 because I'm awful
So after finishing a day of rolling in all the attention, Taako slid into a local bar looking to cap the night off with a few drinks when he spots her. Lup was obviously either having a very bad day or a very good one judging by the number of glasses piling up near her. When he swings on by, it's obvious which one it is.
Huh.
Without preamble or permission, he drops into the seat next to her, leaning back against the bar.]
What up and died in your vodka tonight? You look like hell.

The music is normal tavern fair, jovial and something one could dance to, but that's not what has his attention- it's the elven woman sitting in the corner plucking away at her instrument in tune with the melody. He wanders over in her direction, taking a seat in a nearby empty chair. ]
The melody is quite lovely, you should play it loud enough for everyone to enjoy.

c.
In any case, it had not taken her long to locate the tree, even if it was curiosity, the test to see if she could discover it at all that brought her there than anything else, the curiosity of learning what power it truly held within it. For all the power this world seemed to generate, she does not think it could truly bring her anything she wanted. She barely had a grasp on what that was.
On this trip down, however, she notices that... well, it's not particularly empty down there this time, as the skipping of a stone catches her attention. Most times, she would leave immediately after noticing someone in the vicinity, but here it is not hard to catch sight of Lup, and it is because it is Lup that she does approach.]
It asks for a lot... for a questionable return, does it not.

b - and now for something a little happier~
Another bonus? Spotting Lup, with her violin, plucking away right along with them. She looks so content, swept up in the movement of the melody as she picks out each chord and carefully echoes it back with her own strings. He knows exactly what it's like to lose yourself in music - and he's glad to see her get the chance to do so.
He waits until the current song is through before he makes his way over to her - with a small wave, to get her attention. ]

alucard | ota
[ honestly, getting off the ship was a godsend. not that alucard had any gods to thank, being a faithless abomination. or whatever it is the gods have decided he would be. he doesn't give it much thought. all he knew was that he seemed to have traded one coffin for another and it kept him from his goals. so coming to a planet was a relief.
so he ran.
not in his usual form but as a white wolf. his paws dug into the ground as he ran, fast, a blur in the night before finding himself in a snowy field. he slows down to a trot and then flops on the ground with a quiet whine, basking in the silence. ]
[ ii. ice sculpture. ]
[ one of the few things alucard was good at, which didn't lend itself to death and warfare . . . was art. it was one of the few skills he didn't inherit from his parents, his and his alone. unique. like himself. after alucard performs some errant jobs like bodyguarding and ice-harvesting, he finds himself a quiet corner and a large slab of ice as tall as himself. then with a chisel, he gets to work.
once it's done, it has taken the form of this woman with alucard gazing at it with a soft expression. ]
[ iii. bodyguarding ]
[ money makes the world go round. or so it is said. which is why alucard volunteers to bodyguard. he likes protecting people and he is nigh invulnerable. which people obviously don't realize from the start as he is attacked in broad daylight, protecting his charge.
attacked may be putting it strongly. the man punches alucard in the face before drawing his hand back in pain, his hand broken. when alucard's charge scuttles off, alucard pulls the man aside and bandages his hand, the way his mother taught him to. ]
Reckless. You should think about giving up common theft. It will not end well for you.
[ iv. the cold never bothered him anyway. ]
[ he's not sure what possessed him to make his way down to the tree. perhaps legends attract legends. perhaps he is still looking for a way out. still, for all his vaunted honesty, alucard finds himself hesitating, glancing at whoever is nearby. ]
Perhaps if we trade secrets together, it will not hurt as much.

mikleo | ota
[It goes without saying that Mikleo is intrigued by the water. He's seen bioluminescence before, of course, but never in this abundance, and the mystical way it feels is equally fascinating. For a while he can be found at the edges of various bodies of water, running his hands curiously over the surface, dipping his toes in, using his artes to call little bubbles of it up and out of the rest to watch it weave through the air and glow. So cool.
He doesn't seem to notice at first that the more he plays with it, the more his own body absorbs that glow, his hair and bare skin giving off a soft halo of light. That's kind of weird, huh…]
( b. the nerd museum, for nerds )
[There's a museum, so of course Mikleo is checking it out. He'd prefer if it was about the nature of this planet more than the royal history, sure, but he's a fan of studying lineage anyway, so it's still right up his alley. He can be found poking around the place for hours on end, scrutinizing the cases, reading every item description, sketching out whatever looks really interesting.]
Apparently the family was elevated to royal status around the time when the bioluminescence began. It's said that's how they stayed in power for so long. That's amazing, isn't it? How the public can make such wild associations about nature like that...
[Sorry if you've been roped unwillingly into a conversation! Let's talk history.]
( c. ice caverns… and the tree)
[So, ice caves. That's pretty cool. He'd heard the rumours, of course, and he's more keen on exploring uncharted ground than anything else. He's not terribly interested in getting anything from this supposed magic tree, but what interests him is learning more about it, since this isn't the first planet they've come across that not only had one, but had requirements to get something from it. He's done a few invisible good deeds around town- baked food for an elderly couple, carried some packages and supplies for people while they weren't looking, liquified ice under the feet of passersby so they dont slip- so now he's sort of lurking around the tree, curious about what sort of things people are actually doing to get what they want, and seeing how said gift is received. Straight. Up. Creepin'.
He's not the king of stealth or anything, though, invisible or otherwise, so feel free to catch him in the act.]
( d. wildcard )
[As usual if you have an idea, hit me! I'm open and so is he.]
[[Resonance permissions]]
a.
Sorey's trying to get better about it, too. He doesn't have to be hovering around Mikleo all the time; Mikleo should get to explore places that can see and appreciate him without Sorey acting like his keeper.
......but like, the water is glowing and stuff, soooo
Sorey finds him near a pool; the waters are frigid, some of the water floating slush or ice near the shores. Anybody but Mikleo entering the water would probably freeze but there he is, pulling up droplets of his element, the water, his hair, his skin glowing. Sorey keeps back, half-hidden behind the trunk of a huge evergreen. This isn't something he should interrupt- something he should be allowed to interrupt.]
(no subject)
B
He looks up from his dutiful sketching of a near-ancient iron scepter.]
It sounds convenient for what is essentially late-era feudalism. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a whole other side to this royal family that we know nothing about. Perhaps the bioluminescence began around their reign, but what about the years leading up to it? One doesn't wake up at the top of the food chain. How many other families could have claimed the throne, I wonder...
[Oh boy he is so damn cynical. Sorry Mikleo.]
There could have been some specific event that seemed like a miracle to the people, and they connected the two.

Connor | OTA
[Connor had never left Detroit before. If you had asked him where his first trip outside of the city might be, 'an alien planet' would definitely not have been on the list of options he'd answer with. And yet that's where he finds himself, impossibly. Connor is quick to leave the ships once they land and head into the nearest town. He registers the cold without feeling it, knowing he'll need to keep an eye on it lest it drop below safe levels. It's not much more severe than it was back home so far but given the depth of ice here? He's certain it could get much worse.
He doesn't feel the cold, but the locals do. And those locals are very quick to notice the newcomer walking around in just a thin jacket and pants. The glowing armband and patch just serve to highlight it even more. So Connor is stopped, over and over, by concerned people telling him to rug up! Get a coat! It doesn't matter how often he explains that he doesn't need those things, there's always someone new coming around the corner. The eighth time this happens the other person goes so far as to pull out a woollen scarf and push it into Connor's hands. She can be overheard lecturing him:]
"Now don't argue with me, son! Think of it as a welcome gift for the season."
[That's so unexpected that Connor just stares at the woman for a moment too long as she turns to leave.]
But I don't need to-- [Aaaand she's already gone. Connor looks down at the scarf, at a loss.] ...okay.
[He wraps it around his neck. Maybe it'll forestall more pleas for him to dress warmly.]
b. feasts and taverns
[The merrymaking is ubiquitous, and it's nothing if not fascinating to watch. Connor learns quickly though that checking out these daily and nightly feasts means a lot of food being handed out to anyone who wanders past. This is really starting to be a problem. He doesn't want to stop looking around though, so after a while he decides on a culturally appropriate solution.
If you're passing by, you might find Connor approaching and holding out the latest shortbread or candy he's been given to you.]
Would you like one of these?
[Regifting, truly the spirit of the season.
In the evenings Connor holes up in the corner of inns and taverns, people-watching. He pays more attention to the overtly alien populace, but he's still interested to see what the 'human' locals are doing too. When it gets quieter, often he can be found considering his communicator with the device set to an empty channel, playing those unexplained metallic notes.]
c. ice caverns
[The rumours of the ice-tree sound more like local mythology than actual fact, so Connor isn't here to hunt it down. No, he's here to investigate the terrain beyond what's been tamed by the locals. He was expecting to find it unusual and alien, but he wasn't expecting to find the caves beautiful in a surreal way. It's not hard to run into him here, as he takes his time walking through the tunnels and caves. He reaches out to brush his fingers through the bio luminescent fungi, rubbing them together...
........and then sticks them in his mouth, the LED on his temple flaring yellow. Casually. Maybe he didn't think anyone was watching, but maybe you're standing right there and he did it anyway.
Later, Connor takes a more purposeful tack through the caverns as he becomes more familiar with their layout. After he came out the first time with a couple of gemstones fished out of the rock, one of the miners out the front struck up a deal with him to go back in for more. Connor wasn't about to mine anything himself, but locating seams of the precious materials? That was simple.]

Riona Cousland Theirin | OTA
[Slowly but surely, Riona pulls out of her funk. As much as she can, anyway. She's back to captaining the Blue Fish and doing some work, but her usual cheer and smiles are absent. She's bounced back in the past, but lately... it feels as if this melancholy is here to stay.
Despite her more somber mood, she IS trying to take better care of herself. When she hears about the hot springs, Riona knows a day spent in them is in order. Clothes, food, and her communicator are packed up in a bag. One heavy coat and wool knitted hat purchase later, she's set to go hiking through the mountains.
But she doesn't go alone. She's spent too time by herself lately, and it only leads to her thoughts going down dark paths they shouldn't be going down. So she enlists the help of a friend in trekking up the mountainside. It's an arduous hike, not helped by a short but nasty squall, but when they eventually come upon the springs, even Riona cracks a smile.]
They sure do look inviting.
B. Castle
[A fallen monarchy. The Min'Rith Tells came and went, leaving a lasting impression and a memory upon the landscape and people of this world. A legacy is nice and all, but does it mean anything when the people who left it are long gone? What of them? What did all that hard work, politicking, ruling, and sleepless nights ultimately net them?
Is this the same future the Theirins face?
Riona begins to think coming here might have been a bad idea. Sure, the palace is lovely and the artifacts are a sight to behold. The Min'Rith Tells left a lot behind for future generations to appreciate. She can't help but wonder if this will happen to the Theirins sooner rather than later, and no one in Thedas is going to set up a nice museum for them, oh no. They'll be relegated to the history books and old stories, and nothing more.
She's desperately trying to save that family, to make it so their reign doesn't burn out and fade away like the Min'Rith Tells, but she knows there's a good chance she'll fail. And this palace, this museum, all but mocks her for it. The Theirins would wind up gone and dead like this royal family. This is their future.
Maker, it's too much.
Riona hurries out of the museum, past a group of school children on a tour and dozens of other tourists as she runs through the exit. She keeps running until she makes it to the gates, where she collapses against a wall, heaving out breaths and desperately fighting back tears.
Coming here was nothing short of a big mistake.]
C. Ice Tree
[Of course she heard about this place. The locals talk about it often enough, and even Riona finds herself a bit curious. If nothing else, it promises to be a bit of an adventure in trying to find it.
Luckily, the gear she bought for the trek up into the hot springs serves her well again with this. Bundled up and stocked up, Riona looks at her adventuring/spelunking partner.]
Ready to do this? I don't know if we'll actually find anything, but I suppose that's half the fun.

Re: Riona Cousland Theirin | OTA
[She was not the only one who was feeling nostalgic for medieval castles, or at least reminded him of home. He, like the good tourist that he was, had a map and was wandering around reading all the plaques that were available.
He stopped when he saw Riona running past, and he followed her out of the gates at his much slower pace. He is holding his map to his chest, a frown on his lightly scarred face.]

Libra | OTA
[The cheerful setting has Libra in a good mood; it's always nice to see people enjoying themselves, working together and helping others. In particular, he's lingering near the parks, both enjoying the scenery and keeping half an eye on playing children.
Well, that was the plan. Returning someone's impulsively abandoned gloves seems to have gotten him a little more involved than he intended, and now he's helping a group of half a dozen kids build a snowman that's taller than what they could complete on their own. He looks like he's having a good time, at least.]
[A-2]
[A little later, he's still there when one of the children has had a bit of a skating accident, as is occasionally known to happen when growing feet have metal blades strapped to them. Kneeling down beside the little one, he's able to take the healing staff Lucina gave him before she left, and channel a soothing glow through it, to repair the gash left on the boy's leg as if it never was.]
There you are, good as new. I'm afraid healing magic won't do anything for your clothes, though.
[B: A season for giving and forgiving]
[Libra isn't much of one for material goods, but he came to see the sights in the marketplace anyway, and promptly found someone else in need of assistance. This time he's standing midway up a stepladder, helping to paint decorative swirls on the upper part of a restaurant window that's advertising free soup and home-baked bread at certain times of day.] How does that look?
[The restaurant owner, a short elderly woman with a grandmotherly air, beams at him from the ground.] Oh, just lovely! You're a talented artist, young lady.
I'm... [Is it worth making a fuss and embarrassing someone he'll likely never see again anyway?] ...glad you like it...
[Later, you might also run into him doing a little shopping as well, mostly for books, drawing supplies, and warm clothing.]
[C: Don't forget the cleric]
[He's not sure if he expects anything to come of it, or cares if it does, but there is a note left on a local message board with his contact information, offering the services of an experienced combat healer, in case any adventuring parties should be in need of one. He's not that interested in money, but he doesn't want people to wander off and get hurt because they couldn't find a healer.]
[D: Wildcard!]
[That quiet, pretty human wandering around town looking at all the sights definitely needs to be dragged into your shenanigans, right? Find me at

So just checking: do you actually heal when people need it or is that all pretense?

Leia Organa | OTA
[After having spent so long on Hoth before being abducted on board the Fleet, Leia is far from fond of the idea of spending time on yet another ice planet. But on the other hand, it's still fresh air and time spent off of a ship. And unlike Hoth, this planet has civilization and far more than just glaciers and Wampas.
So while it's not her first choice of planet by any means, Leia is on the surface, exploring the city, if you want to even call it that. She can be found admiring the lights, wandering the market, or even being made to hold something up or otherwise help to put up or fix some decorations.]
B.
[Whether or not it's an activity that would be her first choice, if she's asked to help with something (or perhaps roped in is a better way to describe it), Leia isn't likely to turn down those who need her help. So long as it's something she can agree with, that is. And decorating floats? It may not be something she's ever done before, but it's innocent enough an activity--and also fun, admittedly--that she can't refuse.
But as much as she may be enjoying helping out with the float, even Leia has her limitations, this time in a physical sense. She's too short and can't reach to securely attach ribbons and other decorations on top of the float.]
Do you mind?
[just as she was roped in to helping, she has no problem doing the same to someone else.]
C.
[As sick as she is of ice planets, the talk about the ice caves is too intriguing for her to miss out on them. The rumors are interesting enough, but that's not what Leia wants to see exactly; it's the caves themselves. You can catch her on the way to the caves, hiking up the trail toward the hot springs and near-by caves. Mountaineering is nothing new to Leia, even if this is much tamer than some of the mountains she's climbed before, so she seems comfortably practiced on her way up the mountain path.
Or perhaps you've caught up with her in the mouth of the cave itself. She hasn't gone in yet, not out of any fear of what might be inside, but rather because she's caught up looking at the glowing lights visible even from out here.]
D.
[Wildcard! Any other ideas? toss it here or pm me and we can plot some stuff.]
no subject
Right now, though, he's only half interested in the wares on display, and mostly distracted by Leia. ]
Do you have any idea what they're celebrating?

Taako - OTA!
[Contrary to everything he's said so far, sometimes Taako likes to take it easy. Not that ice fishing in the middle of nowhere is easy, but he hasn't had enough downtime to fish in a long time. So anyone out on the ice tonight will find an elf, bundled up to the extremes with a bucket next to him as he sits and waits for a bite on his line. And while none of this would be unusual?
He's wreathed in a shield of flames as he sits, glowing brightly in the dim light like a beacon against the cold. Come bother a wizard while he works?]
B★ The
GivingIce Tree ★[He's heard the rumors of the tree that gives away free stuff in exchange for doing random things. So while it took him a good long while to get down here, he's finally made it.
....And has no idea what to do. Whoever is lucky enough to find him in this cave standing before the tree will have the unique privilege of watching Taako empty his pockets at the tree's roots. He dumps random objects in front of it and then looks up expectantly only to have nothing happen. A doll, a cup, a book with its cover missing, a ball of twine, a silver spoon? Nope.
There's a considerable pile of junk now and still Taako has nothing to show for it.]
Oh come on! There's gotta be something you want, you dumb tree!
C★ Melting Pot ★
[Now that he's taken over the Melting Pot, it's time to start testing new recipes. On certain nights during their time on the planet, Taako invites people he knows and sometimes just drags random strangers off the hallways of the Iskaulit to sit in the Melting Pot after hours. He sits them down at a table and points to a selection of three different tasting dishes: a small bowl of hearty stew, a poached fish with sauce, and a cut of what looks like beef wellington with a drizzle of red wine sauce.]
I'm taking a poll and you've been selected. Try these and tell me which one you think is best.
D★ Date Night [ Closed to Kravitz] ★
[Once he's got enough cash that he's fairly certain he can cover his half of a date - or an entire night drinking if he gets rejected - Taako sends a quick message to Kravitz's inbox. It's short, it's sweet, it's to the point, and it makes Taako's heart scream bloody murder as he waits for a response.]
Hey Boneman, you owe me a second date. You up for it tonight?
★ Wildcard ★
[Hit me up for anything you'd like to try out while they're on the planet!
A
So what's up, Taako? There's a fluffy little white wolf with black markings (or highlights?) shuffling her way towards your bucket, trying to sneak. She smells fish, what've you caught...?]

Belthazar | OTA
[There's no doubt that this place has brought some life back to Belthazar. Though he's inherently mistrustful of these singing planets from previous experience, he enjoys the few times he can feel like he doesn't need to lean on other people for magic sustenance.
One of the best ways to recharge, he's found, is by wholesale dunking himself into the water. It just so happens that this planet is horrendously cold, however, so he visits the hot springs instead of jumping into the ocean or something. The worst part of this is having to deal with other people seeing him without clothes on.
He leaves on some trunks suitable for swimming, but the rest of him is woefully pale and bare and skinny as hell. He perches his arms on the very edge of the pool so he can use the ground as a prop for reading a book. His hair is tied back with a red and blue ribbon, draped over his shoulder to keep it from getting too wet. This leaves the faintly glowing tattoos visible on his back, but he doesn't care.
... He's asleep. Within minutes. Just happily dozing away with his head on his arms. Check on him? Drown him? It's the perfect opportunity to ruin his day.]
[II. deep diving]
[Belth is dressed in his usual red and gold adventuring robes with a leather satchel at his side and a notebook in his hand. He's staring apprehensively at the mouth of the cave, however, because it's cold and dark and kind of terrifying. He's almost twenty, he ought to be a damned adult about this sort of thing, but... well...
He doesn't want to go alone.
Maybe if he paces over this same patch of snow five more times he'll gather the courage to go inside.]
[III. honey, i exploded the kids]
[With the abundance of magical energy comes the experimentation that Belthazar is eager to get to. He picks a place outside of town, a sort of snowy plain, to work on his newest project. He has several crystals of varying shapes and sizes arranged on a conjured table in a line, each of them multi-faceted and shaped with care. A milky gem with little black snowflakes is the one he's focused on right now.
The gem hovers in front of him while he dictates notes aloud to a floating feather quill and journal.]
Object D has ten faces, weighing precisely twenty ounces. I detected no magical impurities while harvesting and shaping the rock... however, its proximity to the glowing water may make it a suitable vessel for holding mana. Unfortunately, there is a risk of interference from the planet's own mana, though it is stable enough to withstand some minor transmutation.
I will be infusing it with a standard amount of mana found in a conjured mana gem. Commencing experiment.
[His gold eyes flash. Purple lightning crackles around his hands and launches from his fingertips to surround the jewel. It turns and spins slowly like an object in a storm, the magical energy giving the gem a faint bluish glow.
And then a crack forms.
Belthazar has just enough presence of mind to duck as the thing explodes, sending small shards rocketing in each direction. The sonic boom is enough to crack someone's window, but thankfully there are no buildings around; however, some snow falls off a nearby tree in protest.
He throws his arms up.]
I'm okay!
[... And then his journal lands on top of his head.]
-- Still okay!
[IV. choose your own adventure!]
[Belthazar is here to help make feasts awesome, or fail to escort someone to the ice-stone tree, or any number of things-- just comment with your own prompt!]
iii
There's a low, shameless giggling sound from above him when the book drops, not far off- Lup is perched on the snowy branch of an evergreen overlooking where he'd been casting.]

Shinji Ikari | one open, one closed, one wildcard.
[This is progress. Yeah, this feels like progress. Shinji is actually planetside for the first time in a while, rather than staring at the ceiling of his room or tinkering in the Heron's quiet kitchen. It really has been a long time since he's gone anywhere special. Time itself has a way of running together like watercolors when you're, uh... well, when you're just not having a good time, to put it one way. But he took a shower this morning, and he dragged himself into a shuttle, and now he's standing in one of the gift shops at the castle that belonged to some prestigious royal family. He's loitering over by the snow globes, picking them up to squint at and check the prices of, one after another. There's one with a replica of the castle, and another with an idyllic, snow-covered mountain range. A snowman with two curious red birds, too. A cozy-looking cabin in the woods. A pile of wrapped presents. This one features a famous sportsman, apparently, according to the placard...
It's all going well until he gets startled by the sound of laughter nearby, and he ends up dropping the snow globe. Squawking a bit, he just about catches it, then fumbles it again, then snags it with the tips of his fingers--and then his panicked momentum has it somehow squeezing right up and out of his grasp all over again. The snow globe sails through the air as he watches it helplessly, wide-eyed, horrified, because it's either heading right for a bystander('s head) or else it's going to hit the floor and smash into a million pieces.]
Ah--!! Catch it! Catch it!
[The outcome depends on you, fellow Drift Fleeter.]
B) THE HOT SPRINGS. (closed to Kaworu.)
[The receptionist with the candy canes said the glowing water isn't anything special, at all, but Shinji is pretty skeptical of that. He doesn't want to find out like a year from now that he has spooky space cancer because he decided to take a dip in the foreign H2O. Still, he's gotten this far: standing at the edge of the hot springs, wrapped in only a fluffy white towel, glaring down at the water. It's giving him a weird feeling. He can't quite put his finger on what that means, and he doesn't know if he likes it or not. It's just weird.]
Hey, Kaworu-kun, [says Shinji, fretting with the knot of the towel.] Is there anything... I mean, are you noticing anything... have you noticed anything strange about this stuff? [Kaworu, naturally, had no qualms about sinking right into the water like he was born to swim around in it. It's Shinji who keeps hesitating to take that first step.]
C) WILDCARD. (open to all.)
[ooc: Hit me with whatever you've got! Feel free to contact me through PM or via Plurk at

He does look like he was born to swim around. His eyes are half-closed.]

Ben Douglass | ota
[after all the, uh, things he got into on the last planet, maybe the idea of hot springs is more appealing than he wants it to be. At least, it's enough that eventually he gives in, and drags his ass into the mountains to find them. By himself, because he isn't about to invite with him. What a jerk.
And what do you know, it's a great idea. Next time he'll have to bring along something to read or do, but for now he's happy to relax and maybe shut his eyes. His arm is set along with his clothing and what do you know, he isn't stressed about it not being attached for once. My god, he's relaxed]
b. the friendlys are feral;
No, seriously, I'm fine—
[it's very hard not to be an asshole when that's your default, but Ben is trying. Very desperately, to get away from anyone who approaches him trying to be nice. Though it's honestly less he's trying to be an asshole and more he just doesn't know how to people that well, because outside of his job he isn't the most social of people, and oh god why are they so nice.
The person he's trying to avoid offers him something - food, probably, they keep offering him that and he doesn't get and he holds his hands up to hold them off] Seriously, I don't - that's very nice of you but fu—I'm not hungry, maybe that guy over there wants it -
[he's having A Time]
c. The Tree
[having never experienced any of the other giving trees or whatever on past planets, it's safe to say that Ben is Suspicious and Wary and maybe a little paranoid, too. Lowercase p, but knowing him and how easily he gets paranoid that could turn into an uppercase. But regardless, he heads out there because despite how he doesn't believe it, he is curious as to what the fuck it is, and sometimes he gets bored enough to let his curiosity win out over logic.
Of course the last time that happened was the mist planet but we don't talk about that]
Okay but seriously, has anyone like - confirmed this shit is true? [...] And how does it feel about folks who don't meet its requirements?
[he's a giant asshole the tree ain't giving him shit. Or so he thinks]
d. wildcard;
[feel free to come up with someone else if none of these work, as always ♥]
c.
The android flicks his torch over the path ahead, more for Ben's benefit than his own. He only really needs the thing when there aren't any bio-luminescent flora or minerals in the area. By now he's changed over his clothes entirely, no longer wearing the neon lighted ANDROID outfit he came with. Now it's a far less distinct sweater, coat and snow boots.]
I would expect neutral, since it's a tree. [Trees cannot feel emotions he notes in the background of his thoughts, a fact that will probably be tested at some point.] As for confirmation I haven't heard any yet.
[He glances over at Ben, curious.]
I'm surprised you decided to come looking for it.

Thor | OTA
[It's been a slow descent into moodiness for Thor these last couple of months. Between his friends leaving - Sokka, Steve, Peggy, Nami, Katara to name a few - and hitting his one year mark in the Fleet, maintaining his usual determination not to let the Fleet get to him is proving harder and harder. No, he doesn't want to stay here. No, he hasn't given up on escaping. But he's never been one able to pretend like loss doesn't get to him.
At least the planet proves revitalising. Thor notices the surge in his energy as soon as they're within range, and he has to admit to himself how damn good it feels on the surface. Being moody takes more effort like this. But it does still happen, and with all this magic energy around? The usual side effect of Thor's worse moods happens at a much lower bar: lightning storms.
Every few days, the placid weather will be interrupted by a sudden swell of dark clouds, thunder rumbling ominously overhead out of nowhere. Lightning flickers for five, ten minutes at a time, though no rain ever seems to fall. Invariably whenever this happens, Thor can be found somewhere nearby, staring stone-faced up into the grim weather. Sometimes he'll turn his palm over and watch the electricity crackle around it, blowing out a sigh.]
b. the castle
[Call him nostalgic for a past that wasn't as rosy as he thought it was, but this is one of the first places in the Fleet that holds a monument to a past monarchy. Thor's kingship is never far from his mind and even more so at the Min'Rith Tell's castle. Reading about a fallen royal family is perhaps kind of morbid... still, it's interesting enough, though Thor intends to ignore any parallels his mind wants to draw with Odin's family.
He lingers longest in the rooms displaying the armory, and the one holding the royal crowns and sceptres. His expression is thoughtful, but his out-loud comment is less so:]
Remind me never to wear something with that many rubies.
c. wildcard
[Thor can also be found picking through the markets for trinkets, taking part in the (very welcome) feasts that happen every day, or out in the wilds doing some hunting with a sword. If you have another idea, hit me up here or at
c. closed to loki
Because now he has a reason to get Loki down here, a tradition he wants to take part in. Sure, he could do it on the ships. But frankly he thinks his brother needs to get out a bit more.
So he texts him.]

OTA
[The climate leaves something to be desired, though he's quite pleased with the rejuvenating effect the planet has on his powers. It's been some time since he's felt 100%. Unfortunately, it does nothing to fend off the chill, and Nico finds himself in need of warmer clothes. It was much warmer back on his world, and all he had were a T-shirt and jeans, plus whatever was supplied by their hosts.
He dodges around the merrymaking to find a clothing store. It should be easier, but three times now he's been stopped and handed a gift. He doesn't refuse them, but he doesn't want them either. So as soon as he can, he shoves them at whoever passes by.]
You can have this. Merry Whatever-mas.
Mining
[Money is probably something he should think about. And while he may not have his sister's talent with manipulating stone and gems, he does have some ability. At the very least, he can sense where valuable stones might be and move the rock to get to them. It's crude, and would normally leave him exhausted, but he feels like he has energy to spare.]
Tree
[In his experience, rumors of magical hidden things tend to be, at least a little, true. So he's not terribly surprised to be standing in front of a magical tree. And ... now what? He's heard some rumors, things that may or may not work. He has nothing of value to offer it. Maybe if he just ... asks? Awkwardly and glaring?]
Okay, tree. What do you want?
