One of the reasons. I need to feel my account again after our last project, and I'm looking for a sparkly present for a friend. [Allura likes sparkly things and he owes her a rock, it fits.] But I also want to check on the wishing tree everyone is talking about. Maybe there's something real to the story.

[oratorical]

I'd say this is a good spot to find something sparkly for a friend.

[Or at the very least, something glowing. Close enough.]

What have you heard about this wishing tree from the locals so far?

[padadin]

[He tells her what he knows as he starts making his way inside, ready for some good exercise. Because even if he didn't include that in his list of reasons, that also counts.]

The tree will make one wish true if you fulfill a requirement, but I haven't learned which one is the right one yet. Everyone has a different story to tell, from helping people to singing a song. I thought maybe finding the tree could provide some kind of clue.

[oratorical]

[Seeing as she's already here, and she can't think of much else she needs to do at the moment (still a new feeling, still something she isn't fond of), Leia follows Shiro inside. She can reason it as not wanting him to explore on his own, in case something negative happens.]

Well, here's hoping it doesn't involve singing. I've never been very skilled at that.

[Not wanting Shiro to do something shonen-stupid is a pretty legit reason. You're good, Leia. He chuckles at the comment as he makes his way through the caves, recognizing many of the spots from having been here before.]

If it's anything like previous singing planets, I think it'll require something more meaningful than just singing. But never say never - I'll take singing over having to fight some monster.

[oratorical]

[Singing or monster fighting, Leia's not sure which she'd prefer. She doesn't have any blasters she's familiar with here, and it's not like she'd want to actually hurt (or worse) any monster for no real reason.]

If it requires singing, I feel like it might be granting some wishes purely in the interest of making the singing stop, for some people.

[padadin]

[He chuckles at that as he stops next to a crystal to break it with his metal arm.] A good point. Do you think it could make people stop doing certain things? As a way to correct their behavior.

[oratorical]

[Metal arms aren't anything new to her. But using a metal arm for anything beyond normal arm function--as in, using its inherent strength to break a crystal--is new for her.

She's not staring, really, but she is just slightly surprised to see it.]

It's a tree, isn't it? I don't know that a tree is capable of stopping people from doing anything, unless you count rewarding specific behavior with whatever was wished for.

[padadin]

[His eyes are on the crystal, so he doesn't notice her reaction. But to be honest, he's used to people staring by now. Not his favorite thing about the arm, but something he's learned to live with.]

Rewarding specific behavior is what I was thinking for. But if it's a magic tree, I'm also wondering what kind of magical things it can do, like maybe put a curse on a person to make them change that behavior.

[oratorical]

[She mostly doesn't get why you wouldn't get a metal arm that looks identical to a normal human arm okay.]
