[ Yeah, he rambles about vaguely needing help with something or other back at the place with the thing and the guy and-- okay they're out of earshot. Whew. He drops his hand from Ben's shoulder, waves it dismissively before crossing his arms. ]

'Cause they're nice. It's a little disturbin'. [ Snort. He gives him a small, fangish grin. ] But yeah, no problem. Bailout is the next best bet when a restin' "fuck off" face doesn't work. Which, yeah, I swear these people are like... immune to that.

[privateeyed]

[he scrubs his hands over his face with a grumpy noise] Fuckin' understatement, dude. That niceties are weird. Not even my kind old lady neighbor is that fuckin' nice.

[he drops his hands] They're immune to glares, too. They just smile and wave like it's nothing. Who does that?

Yeah, see, where I'm from, that nice was more of a cover for tryin' to get your way. Or favors.

[ At the end of the day, Eithan's pretty good with nice -- so long as it's the honest kind of nice. He likes people, stuff like that. But yeah, even he has a limit, and this planet pushes it. It's hard to get out of the "watch your back" mindset here. ]

What, kind old ladies? Nah, mine's the real deal, but I know what you mean.

[he snorts] If they're even capable of it? They're probably just, overly passive aggressive with each other or some shit. Like, angry soccer moms trying to out-bitch each other in front of their kids.
