To Lance:

My dear friend, the day is coming. I hope we can further put our plans to action to accommodate the weather of the planet. When you have time, let us meet for tea and plotting. I already look forward to it.

To Taako:

You had previously mentioned being able to create a menu for my wedding. If that offer still stands then I would be honored if I could discuss this with you in greater detail. You have my gratitude in advance.

I know, Biffy. I was kidding. You're definitely a person, I'm not going to throw a ball at you any time soon.

[And Procyon has like twenty of them so it wouldn't be hard to share. Buthe's just kidding, obviously.

He calls a waiter to make their orders then puts his attention back on Biffy.]

Let's discuss the ceremony then, shall we? What did you and Lyall have in mind?

Well that's a relief. I was quite worried.

[He looks thoroughly amused by the notion rather than offended. After their orders are taken, he looks back to Shiro.]

Well, largely it's what I have in mind. Lyall has left the planning to myself. So I've been plotting while keeping his wishes in mind. With that in mind, it will be a smaller and more intimate ceremony. Something that would likely be considered ill fashioned where I come from but the sort of thing that would make Lyall the happiest.

So we will be at the front of the gathering where I think I'd like to have you say a few words. Then Lyall and I can exchange vows and rings. It will all be remarkably simple and leave more time for celebration and eating after.

[padadin]

Don't think about what's ill or well fashioned, Biffy. Think about what will make both of you happy. Small and intimate works.

[Though he must admit, what Biffy says does match what Shiro thought: Lyall wanting small and Biffy wanting extravagant. It's very them. He's glad to see they reached a compromise before it even became an issue.]

Ah, I did wonder if you'd like me to say something, you took the question from the tip of my tongue. I'd be happy to do that, Biffy. How about the first dance? Are you two doing that too?

[dandyofawolf]

Being fashionable is part of what makes us happy.

[Biffy gives him a little wink. Then there's a pause before...]

Lyall and I have never danced together before actually. Ever.

[padadin]

[A chuckle.] I should've seen that answer coming.

[But then... aww. That's a punch to Shiro's heart, and he's even more delighted over this happening now. His face instantly softens.]

There's a first time for everything, isn't it? Don't you want to try?

[dandyofawolf]

I would. Though only if Lyall is interested. He's giving me more than enough just agreeing to marry me.

[He laughs softly but he doesn't look at all hurt. After all, he understands Lyall's feelings on this and doesn't see anything bad about them.]

But if he says yes then I think I would very much love to have that dance with him.

[padadin]

Then let's put "first dance" on the list. You just need to ask.

[Shiro doubts that Lyall will say no. He's eager to please Biffy as much as Biffy wants to please Lyall in return.

Their orders arrive, and Shiro waits for the waiter to leave before going on.]

Regardless of his answer, you have other people you'll be owing a dance to. [He grins before taking a bite of his cheesecake. Yes, this includes him, but also he's sure Lance will want to go for it.]

My dear captain, if I'm not dancing with my husband then I won't be dancing with anyone.

[And he looks so amused. But it's true. He'll dance with others but only if he gets to dance with Lyall. If Lyall doesn't want to then he won't dance.

That's all there is to it.]

[padadin]

[Shiro blinks in surprise, thinking that's a little too extremist. But if that's how Biffy sees the subject matter, he isn't going to argue. Though he has a feeling Lyall would think it's too much too.]

Understood. Is there anything else you wanted to consider? I'm not very familiar with the wedding costumes of your time.

[dandyofawolf]

You would find them all remarkably old fashioned I'm sure. And a number of them are not likely to apply given that we are two grooms.

[He takes a sip of tea as he consider matters.]

May I ask how weddings between two men are done in your time?

[padadin]

Not old fashioned costumes are a bad thing, Biffy, but I do see your second point.

[They can't exactly do the garter thing here, now can they?]

It depends a lot on the culture the grooms come from and how big of a party they want. Most things have stayed the same. Ring bearers, flower girls, exchange of vows and rings, saying "I do". Some people do thematic weddings, those can be fun.

[dandyofawolf]

[He'll let you try to convince Lyall to have a garter put on his leg for Biffy to take off in front of a crowd, Shiro.]

I know we won't be having anything more than us and you. Just to simplify things really. That and there really are no lovely young ladies here to be proper flower girls for us.

[padadin]

Simplifying works. [He's a practical man after all - for important celebrations he can appreciate some more fun and preparing, but he won't say no to simple.] There used to be a couple of kids when I arrived here - one of them was captain. I'm glad they're back with their families at home now, I'll gladly accept not having a flower girl for that.

[dandyofawolf]

Agreed. As comfortable as we make this place to be, it isn't a home for all of us in the end. [He smiles a little as he looks down.] Though it feels like it as long as I have Lyall at my side.

[padadin]

[Aww, that's so sweet. Shiro understands what Biffy is going for here.]

There's a saying - home is where your heart is. I can't disagree. [He drinks some of his tea before speaking again.] I'm glad to hear that Lyall's presence is almost enough to make it home for you. When I hear you two talk about the pack, I can't help to worrying a bit about how their absence must be weighing on you.

It's something I feel stronger than Lyall does. You see, I am the one the pack is tethered to. It's almost as like on a daily basis I can feel the strings pulled so far and as tight as they will go. In such a way that I can feel the strings but not those attached to them. When Lyall arrived I could feel a member of my pack again and I was able to settle my mind once more.
